Thoughtful musing on School's Out

Recommended Posts

i thoughtfully muse that espn.com's Scoop Jackson could very well be borderline illiterate, thus will not enjoi this show as I have as I am not borderline illiterate

".....all of us, for too long now, have looked past all of this and validated what I've said my whole life: "Pimpin' ain't easy, the media is just scared."

lol what

also Jay Marioti has alleged Frank thomas wished to sodomize him w/a bat.

As uneventful as the build-up was, I think SO turned out to be one of our best shows. Obviously it was nowhere near an AM, but it was a damn good secondary PPV event.

Awesome job by Patty putting the show together.

Enterprise vs. COD/D*LUX: Do yourselves a favor and read this match. Not only will you learn how Krista spends Ned's child support money (see match graphic), the match itself is a thing of beauty. Give Patty a bunch of characters and he'll give them all a memorable moment.

Moneymaker vs. Rodez: The finish caught me by surprise. I fully expect Leon to start his comeback once he got locked in the Bank Vault. Gotta feel bad for Leon. His own sister played a part in his downfall without getting physical at all.

PR vs. Bo: This was a war all right, featuring cool spots and help from TLC for PR to win. Nice touch having some of PR's past rivals watching, it really put over how so many hoped to see him get his. Thumbs up.

Zack Malibu vs. Drek Stone: While the feud never lived up to the hyped, so often as it happens, it still produced two highly entertaining matches. Now a new era begins with an old face back on top. History made too as Zack becomes the first 3-time OAOAST Champion. Congrats Zack!

Holy Shit! Updating the title histories thread I noticed it's been 3 years since Zack last held the title. So 3 years after his last reign he wins #3.

Respect.

Now for musing. But not thoughtfully.

Already told Tony what I thought of his match. Was excellente, very well written, lookin' good, and if you know like Patty knows then you know 149 is very excited about this feud, which always leads to high quality writing.

Really enjoyed that Rodez/Moneymaker match. The Billion Dollar Heir wrestled like a total asshole, which is exactly what we'd expect of him. Really makes you want to see him get bodied by LeeLee in the end.

Every week Bo's trying to boss PRL like he's nothing to him, then PRL pulls it out in the end. Insane war to parrot 149's comment.

Entertaining mainevent between the poster boy and the longest reigning champ in historie. Nice to have AS get in there as he and Zack seem to have a strong bond. No homo. I can't believe it's been three years since Zack won the title. Now all is right in our little pocket of the universe. And I do mean little. Actually I half expected Drek to eek out another victory, but it's only fitting Zack becomes the first ever three time OAOAST world champ.

Very good tag team opener. I loved the implication of the 'fro softening blows to the head, ala the Samoan thick cranium. Rico came up with a good cover-up for the beads, but to no avail. Boo! Continue the match!

BTW, this year's AM was number 6, not 5 as it says in the commercial.

8-man tag was terrific. Lots of action, lots of fun. I loved the commentary, pretty much everything about this match was brilliant.

Rodez/Teddy was a nice hot match, with a shocking ending that came out of nowhere. Good while it lasted, something tells me we haven't seen the last of this one.

The show just keeps getting better with the HIAC match. The video package was pretty awesome. The old "Out! Safe! Out! Safe!" bit will never get old. Terrific job of building up Bo as the monster that everyone wanted to see decimate the annoying shit PRL, only to be foiled by the LC yet again. Outstanding.

Another very good, very physical match with Zack and Drek. Zack's really been a more ruthless character since his wars with Bruce, which was also touched on in the match. The result was fairly predictable, but it waws still a fun read. Guess I've got to shoot for first to four now. :P

Excellent show, all in all.

MOTN: HIAC

LOTN: "And as for lesbians, you know if you look like Rosie O, be a dyke, I don't care, I wasn't about to hit that ass anyway. But when you got hot women, hot white women, saying they're only gonna do chicks, then you know, that pisses me off and that shit needs to be dealt with." - The Coach

PS: feedback triumph plz, lol

Finally, some feedback from me.

LOL'd at the opening...especially with the low rider/pogo stick comment. Also, Zack and Bo giving Christian Wright a swirly? Could this be some foreshadowing for things to come!?...

...probably not. Unless I beat Wright in a match using an atomic wedgie.

Dug the opening tag, and I love when emoticons are used to express the announcers/wrestlers reactions...it always get a chucke out of me seeing something like this :( after someone gets nailed with a chair or something. Nice storytelling with the LGS and the Rockers alliance. Despite our somewhat small writing roster, our tag division never suffers.

She's a character on the L Word, ask Krista, I'm sure she's done her before.

And that was before the second match even started. I swear, between Patty and KC, if people didn't know better that we were an e-fed, they might mistake their matches for lowbrow comedy skits. Proof positive how they are assets and help diversify the match-writers here.

Everytime I see The Enterprise, I think of the XPW group by that name...one of the only good things to come out of that company, so yes, it was a compliment.

Speaking previously of the emoticons, I also love the use of imagery, and the cover version of the BSB had me rolling.

A bit more "serious" match with Rodez and Moneymaker, but good nonetheless. I remember Tony's earliest considerations of bringing out that character, and he's made him into an entertaining one, whether on his own or playing off the Enterprise stable.

Great match with PRL and Bohemoth. Again, it's a credit to our writers when it makes you unsure of just how these matches are gonna go. Forget the WWF/E, anything can happen HERE. Again, a match with a more serious tone, but given the stipulations and his normal writing efforts, PRL dished out a winner. Also liked the inclusion of various people's reactions in the match, basically putting you into the crowd as opposed to just reading it all.

Main event: not gonna say anything about something I wrote, as per usual. Originally this was going to be a Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal Iron Man Match to blow it all off, but after not talking to Drek for a while, I knew I wasn't going to have the time to write something of that length on my own. So I churned out the expected brawl for it all. I will say one thing regarding an Alf comment...I want the Zack character to visibly show the effects of the Blank feud, given how personal and how big it got last year, so by keeping up the "ruthless" part of the Zack character, showing him as more willing to get violent, I feel it adds a character trait to him and also keeps the memory of that feud alive.
