NOAH: NTV Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Cup

The first NTV cup will take place during the upcoming "Spring Navigation '07" tour, with five junior heavyweight tag teams fighting eachother in Pro Wrestling NOAH's first round robin tournament. The teams are as follows:

 

-KENTA & Taiji Ishimori

-Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe

-Naomichi Marufuji & Kota Iifushi

-Kotaro Suzuki & Ricky Marvin

-Bryan Danielson & Davey Richards

 

The fixtures will be spread across the tour. Every match will have a 30 minute time limit, with 2 points will be awarded to the winning team of each fixture, 0 points to the losing team, 1 point to each team in the event of a time limit draw and and 0 points to each team in the event of any other finish.

 

At the end of fixtures, the team with the most points will be awarded the first NTV Cup champions, with a playoff occuring in the event of a draw. To begin the fixtures on a bit of a lighter note, a battle royal with all participants in the NTV cup participating will be held on the tour opening 6/30 show.

I'm famaliar with 9 out of the 10 wrestlers here, and this could be an amazing tournament. It's annoying that's there's no Danielson/Richards matches or the Kenta/Ishimori - Brisoces match is on TV, but the 2 briscoe matches that are on should be brilliant.

Atsushi Aoki & Rocky Romero have been added to the tournament as the 6th team, and with Danielson/Richards vs Aoki/Romero being added to the 7/1/07 show every team will now have at least one match taped.

 

A shame more of this won't be getting aired but what is being taped should be damn good, thankfully someone in NOAH thinks highly of the Briscoes as the two matches of theirs that are being aired are the matchups i'm looking forward to the most in this whole thing.
