Gattaca

[Epic Reine]

I finally got around to purchasing a copy of "Gattaca" starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman over the weekend and when I watched it, I remembered why I love the movie so much. Brilliant script, excellent score and great story. I do not see enough love for this film anywhere. Definatley in my top ten.

 

Anybody else a fan of this gem?

I love this movie, but it's been a while since I've seen it. As far as I'm concerned it's a modern sci-fi classic, even if very underrated by so many people. The only reason I don't own it is because I've never been able to find the widescreen version for cheap, and also because I keep expecting a new special edition, but it never comes.

 

Did you find a WS version?

Indeed I did, the version I bought is apparently new because it credits Jude Law as one of the stars on the cover and has a picture of him too (I guess to capitalize on Jude's fame). I got it for $8 from Amazon. I think it still retains all the features from the previous release too.

I can't believe I still haven't bought a DVD of this movie. I still have the VHS sitting in my bookcase. One of the few VHS I have left, heh.

We have a double sided copy at our work. I hate double sided discs.

I thought it was a great movie, I remember we got to watch it one year in Science because we were studying DNA. Pretty fun week in Science.

Agree with the crowd. Great movie. Also turned me on to Jude law for the first time.

 

Well-done script, scarily realistic future scenario without being over-the-top. One aspect I really liked was the music.
