Guest jlvideo Report post Posted August 3, 2007 Well i think what is left with tooday's wrestling i might be done with tapes except for the ones i have. My sister who got my dad's home after he dies 5 yrs ago this past wed. Was upset that i stored all my wrestling videos and hers ones to replace like:ecw, raws, nitros, heat, wcw sat shows, smw, uswa, japan, mexico, indys and more. Well she told the guy who took the remaining stuff out the home and to take all my video(over 3o plastic tubs) of them away. Well he told me i can have them back for a fee of $500 of which i don't have. Doesn't that stink! I know this not a type of discussion on this board and thanks trent. But i thought i would let people know how much i have been a fan of wrestling since i was 7. I wanted to show my son(who will be 3 years old next thursday) some of the stuff i had,but it's too late now. The local police won't do anything, except they said it's a civil matter now and to take him court and try to get my tapes back if there's any left. I don't what legal things i can do. I'm sorry i am on a rant ,so i won't be able to watch any more of my old stuff at all, unless i spend a fortune on dvd's from guys on this board. So may cool it awhile with tapes. I hope you guys here treasure the ones you have and enjoy them. Even if wrestling sucks now, you'll still have the old stuff to enjoy. Jack
JJMc 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2007 Jack, that guy is a prick for doing that. I would at least attempt to take some action against him and get them back. If you pursue it, the guy might freak out and just give them up. That's too many years of tapes to lose at once. I know how it is.
Guest JuanJoseNYC Report post Posted August 5, 2007 You could take him to court and say that your sister had no authorization from you to give out your collection of tapes to some random dude. That's probably your only legal argument.
evilhomer 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2007 Start off with a formal letter stating your case, how the items were improperly removed and request him to return them. State that if he doesn't return them you will sue him for their return and for all fees associated with their return (check local laws to see if the latter is a legal possibility). This is the first step if it does go to court. If I were in that situation, I'd give you back what's garbage to me rather than go through that pain in the ass. Problem being, this guy sounds like a prick, he might fuck up the tapes prior to returning them, so option B: hire a hitman
