Ced Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 So about a few weeks ago, I installed a DVD burner into my desktop without taking out the original CD burner. Everything's been dandy for the past 3 weeks until now. For the past three days, I've found that the PC will decided to randomly shut itself down. The fan will still be on and the light on the CD burner will be on. The DVD burner will open and close, but the only way to reboot is to shut off the power to hard reset. I'm not comp wiz, but I'm thinking I'm overloading my computer in some way, shape or form. I'm finding it weird that I ran with the dual optic drives setup just fine for a few weeks and only now problems are coming up.
