CanadianChris Posted October 21, 2007 Author Report Posted October 21, 2007 Hm, first week with no eliminations. I don't think we'll be saying the same thing next week.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 If anybody cared, I was Yankees Of Football and got booted when I took Baltimore over Cleveland in week 4.
CanadianChris Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 I knew this week would be interesting when I saw all the teams King and Hawk 52 have already picked. A lot of teams playing away from home this week: N.Y. Giants - 2 Cleveland - 1 Indianapolis - 1 Tennessee - 1
CanadianChris Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 Looks like everyone's safe for another week. I'm surprised.
Hawkius Maximus Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 The further this goes along, I may have screwed myself by using the strong teams to survive. I still have a few good teams to fall back on though, such as the Colts and Packers. The Rams made that stupid game way more close then it had any right to be though.
BX Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 Some random mid-season analysis, because I'm bored. Looking at these numbers, one thing sticks out at me. The lack of trust in Green Bay is apparent. One person has selected the Packers to win a game, although they have established themselves as a tough team to deal with, despite the lack of a running game. Pittsburgh - 15 Seattle - 14 New England - 13 Dallas - 10 San Diego - 9 Chicago - 8 Cincinnati - 8 Indianapolis - 7 Denver - 6 New Orleans - 6 New York Giants - 5 Jacksonville - 5 Baltimore - 4 Atlanta - 3 Tennessee - 3 Carolina - 2 Detroit - 2 Houston - 2 Minnesota - 2 Washington - 2 St. Louis - 2 Cleveland - 1 Green Bay - 1 Miami - 1 Philadelphia - 1 San Francisco - 1 Tampa Bay - 0 Oakland - 0 Arizona - 0 Buffalo - 0 New York Jets - 0 Kansas City - 0 NFC East: Dallas, 10. New York Giants, 5. Washington, 2. Philadelphia, 1. = 18 picks. NFC North: Chicago, 8. Detroit, 2. Minnesota, 2. Green Bay, 1. = 13 picks. NFC South: New Orleans, 6. Atlanta, 3. Carolina, 2. In Jay We Trust: (CanadianChris) Arizona, Atlanta, Buffalo, Carolina, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Miami, Minnesota, New Orleans, New York Jets, Oakland, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Washington. CanadianChris Posted October 30, 2007 Author Report Posted October 30, 2007 No, my team is In Jay We Trust. I'm pretty sure Serenity is thepinjockey.
Hawkius Maximus Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 I was going to pick Green Bay one week...the week they played the Bears. I thought it'd be a safe pick given how each team had played, but at the last minute I changed my pick. Thank god I did.
CanadianChris Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 I switched to San Diego from Pittsburgh at the last minute. I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the ass. (Are you kidding? Of course it did.) This week: San Diego - 2 Washington - 2 Tampa Bay - 1
CanadianChris Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 The way things are going, King could win the pool outright this week.
Guest Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 The only other team I would have picked was the Lions. Picking road teams is a giant no-no.
CanadianChris Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 Normally I agree, but San Diego/Minnesota was just a giant mismatch on paper and I didn't have another really good spot to take the Chargers the rest of the year. Plus Pittsburgh plays Miami in 3 weeks at home.
Hawkius Maximus Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 If Washington doesn't beat the Jets, I'm going to be so very fucking angry. I figured that would be a goddamn gimme.
CanadianChris Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 That should be the nail in the coffin for me and thepinjockey. Jets receive the opening kickoff in OT.
Hawkius Maximus Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 I'm following the Jets/Redskins game on NFL.com...Jets just had to punt. Honestly. If the Redskins manage to lose this, this will kick off years of irrational hatred for their team, and their players.
Hawkius Maximus Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 Fuckin' hell. That was way too fucking close for comfort.
CanadianChris Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 Three teams left. I can't believe I switched, I picked the Steelers way back on Tuesday. Fucking Chargers, as if I needed another reason to hate them. I did go 8-1 in the early games in my money pool, so the week isn't a total loss.
BX Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 I have a feeling that we'll see a champion this week.
CanadianChris Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 I'd be shocked if that were the case.
BX Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Well.. I think the choices are going to get tough these last few weeks, because for the most part, we've exhausted our sure picks, and when the byes end next week, I think we'll have more options, and thus less chances of the last three making the same picks.
CanadianChris Posted November 11, 2007 Author Report Posted November 11, 2007 Yeah, but this week I figured everyone would be on the Saints. Guess not: Green Bay - 1 New Orleans - 1 Seattle - 1 I cannot believe anyone with New Orleans available would make as shaky a pick as Green Bay.
Hawkius Maximus Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 I'm really surprised I'm the only one who did Saints/Rams. Been a pretty damn safe pick so far. Just pick against the Rams. Only worry point is they got Jackson back. Seattle/Niners is too risky for me. It's not that long ago that the Niners kept having miracle days and beating Seattle...Green Bay vs. Minnesota would be too. This'll be interesting. I'll be embaressed if I picked a jobber game and get eliminated.
Guest Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 The 49ers are just a bad team. Wasn't a hard pick. I thought about taking Green Bay or New Orleans, but the Rams are DUE for a win, and the Packers have to defend against Adrian Peterson. Needless to say, I didn't like the thought of sweating it out.
Hawkius Maximus Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Rams are seemingly playing good, and the Saints seem to be playing horribly, I'm following the game on NFL.com. Saints are worthless if they can't beat the Rams in their home arena though. Annd Rams score again. Fuck j00 Saints. As a Seattle fan, I just can't see picking Seattle to beat the Niners 100%. There's always something WEIRD about their games. Not to mention that Seattle hasn't looked very good a few times this year. I really wouldn't be surprised to see the Niners get a last minute FG or something to win. This could end up being more interesting then I thought it would.
CanadianChris Posted November 11, 2007 Author Report Posted November 11, 2007 Well, at least I know that I would've been out this week if I hadn't switched teams last week, because I would've back New Orleans without a second thought. What an embarrassment for the Saints.
BX Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 The fucking Saints have been knocking people out all season. I'm not touching those guys.
BX Posted November 11, 2007 Report Posted November 11, 2007 Plus, you seem to forget that the Rams still have Torry Holt, and he's playing against one of the worst secondaries in the league.
