I also started watching this show since this thread came up. Actually I started watching BECAUSE this thread, just to see what all the discussion was all about, and this show was mediocre at best. The best moments of this show were in the first episode. And it had moments scattered throughout the season, but it's easy to see why this show only had one season.

I used to watch this show sometimes on Fox Family years ago and I remember when the DVD set came out, but it's taken me years to finally rent the DVDs from Netflix. I'm about to get the last DVD next, and I'm already kind of sad that it's over.

Yesterday, on Jeopardy, there was an entire category dedicated to Freaks and Geeks. All of the questions were about the post-show pursuits of the cast and crew. I went 5 for 5.

Ok so I just finished watching the episode where Bill, Sam, and Neil get upset because they always get picked last for baseball, and my god..Sam's reaction when Bill picks him first is the single gayest thing he's ever done. Agh he makes me so mad. He's almost reaching Chris Crocker levels here.

P.S. That's a big fuckin cookie, luke-o.

I downloaded this about a year and a half ago, watched the first two episodes, and then accidentally deleted them. Finally got around to downloading them again and watched the rest of them over the past few days.

Gordon's not getting any love in this thread, and that's a shame.

And the whole bit with Sam buying the jumpsuit was great stuff, especially with Neal ripping on him.

I rewatched the whole series over the last few days. Such a funny show, and so charming and affecting. It saddens me that the last we see of Lindsay is her going off to see the Grateful Dead. She could do better.

Bill is the best fucking thing ever, though. Every scene with him is hysterical. Is that actor doing anything of note these days?

I have a feeling that the Deadhead phase would have come and gone within a season's time, had it been given the opportunity, of course.

I only got into Freaks & Geeks recently, but I still think it's great nonetheless.

Some of my favourite moments from the show were:

'Maybe if you don't drink alcohol you'll be cool'

'I have herpes'

'Space is like... lame'

Ken's vocals on their cover of 'Sunshine of Your Love'

Linda Cardellini's appearance

That Cindy Sanders heel turn is something else. Sam should have figured something was up when she agreed to go out with him. No super-cool cheerleader goes out with a dude that geeky unless she's hiding some terrible secret that would make no normal guy want anything to do with her. Like being a Republican. Hi-yo! The best thing on the DVD set is the deleted scene where they're in her room and she tries to make up for their lost slow dance in the pilot by having him sing "Come Sail Away" to her while they slowly sway in each others' arms. Do you know what kind of shit they canceled this show for? "Tucker" and "Daddio"! Remember Tucker and Daddio? No? Exactly! When I rediscovered this show last summer after not seeing it for several years, I had to watch it out of order. I couldn't bear to watch the final episode last. It would have been too depressing.

I think half this show's cast appeared on Boston Public. Sam (nerdy kid who gets beat up, keeps a hitlist, asks a hot girl to the prom and she says no so he says "you'll be sorry" and she thinks he wants to kill her so he gets expelled), Neil (just a wisecrackin' dude), Millie (wears too much garish makeup), Cindy (out of control goth who moves in with an obese teacher), Vicki the bitchy cheerleader (sucked a dick in the hallway for student council votes), Biff Tannen (football dad). Any more?
