NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2007 So, before I never thought to ask because I always bought the new version of Madden when it was released. However, this year for the PS3, I just bought Madden 07 for $10, and am going to hold off until the '09 version to update. I am hooking up my ethernet cable when I get home to get started on the PS3 network, but I have to ask, how long to old versions of Madden stay available to play online, and is there usually still a large amount of people playing older versions of the game, even once the new version is released? Thoth 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2007 I would say around 18 months from the day of release, although this fluctuates based on popularity of the title. For example, Fight Night Round 3 is offline for PSP and Xbox, but still online for PS2, Xbox 360, and PS3. Since the PS3 version came out after the other versions, I think it will go offline later than others, but could still go at the same time if it is significantly unpopular. Madden 06 just shut down two months ago, so at minimum, you have ten more months of Madden 07.

The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 Figured this was as good a place as any to post this question... I just got a 360 and I'm going to pick up Madden 08. Once I get my Xbox Live subscription working, can you download updated rosters for the game? I ask because at the beginning of the season, the Browns were tied for the worst ranking in the game, and clearly, they're a lot better than that right now. Their offense would actually be pretty fun to use on a game.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 There's been alot of Roster Updates lately, which you have to download before you can play an online game. Browns still have a pretty weak rating, though it has got better - and yes they're fun to play. I use them all the time online!
