BUTT Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 In both posts I was testing the video tags. I then edited them because I didn't want to look stupid.
BUTT Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Oh I forgot about the first post I made up there. I was just responding to redbaron's broken video tags. I hope people don't get the impression that I spent 36 minutes in a futile attempt to post videos.
Red Baron Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 I'm just bitter that I can't show the awesomeness of Candlebox and Local H.
BUTT Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 This thread isn't going to die! When I was 11, I used to hear this on the radio a lot. I didn't know who performed it until I saw the video on MTV one day and I was like "Oh God, Celine Dion" because she did "Because You Loved Me" and I didn't like that song. So as disappointed as I was at the artist, I knew I liked the song so I was watching the video and HOLY FUCK THAT DUDE'S MOTORCYCLE JUST EXPLODED. At this point I decided that Celine Dion was awesome, but I never told my friends about this because at that sensitive age you don't want people calling you gay and this was years before I was able to rationalize it as "well, it's basically a Meat Loaf song, just with a woman singing it." Anyway, this song is amazing and sometimes when I listen to it I feel like I'm 11 again. That's right, it's all coming back to me.
Guest Teal-y Dan Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I'm no longer afraid to admit that I knew this song was something special too.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 From the same time period: Back in '97 this thing elicited all sorts of strange, confusing feelings in my 10 year old self.
LaParkaMarka Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 When I was 11, I used to hear this on the radio a lot. It's funny because I had the same reaction to the song...I remember watching the video (I used to watch the Muchmusic Countdown every Friday afterschool) and thinking the motorcycle blowing up was awesome. How could you not continue watching the video after that? Plus it has ghosts and moving portraits and all sorts of crap. Good video.
BUTT Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Also from when I was 11, this was absolutely mind-blowing. Before Manson became the most overexposed dude in music in '97-'98, I thought this video was the coolest thing I had ever seen. In April/May '96, I used to watch MTV's 7:30 video countdown every night just to see this. That part where he goes "some of them want to be a-BUUUUUUUUUSED!" and the lead guitar comes in was an early transcendent musical experience for young SJK. Best cover ever. God, I wish 1996 never ended.
BUTT Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I'M GONNA USE YOU AND ABUSE YOU I GOTTA KNOW WHAT'S IN-SIDE GONNA USE YOU AND ABUSE YOU I GOTTA KNOW WHAT'S IN SIDE YOU
FroGG_NeaL Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 96' is my favorite year too, doggie. All Eyez On Me came out and niggas was wildin' out. 2pac & Dr. Dre - Califonia Love - Mad Max version.
LaParkaMarka Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Just got linked to this today. I don't remember the beginning on this video at all, but the middle and end reminded me of some good times back in the day. Good ol Fatboy Slim.
Guest blame that goot. Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Put on your teal cable-knit sweater for a playlist of Goo Goo Dolls. SeeqPod - Playable Search Gawd, "Black Balloon" makes me want to go shopping for yellow fleece vests.
Cran Da Maniac Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 TAG TEAM IS BACK! And who remembers how much they'd whore this song out to whatever entity would pay them money? "WHOMP! THE ADDAMS FAMILY THERE IT IS!"
