Guest IV:XX Report post Posted January 2, 2008 LMAO! I am not a Georgia fan but they got shafted. If the "Rose Bowl Commitee" wasn't scared of their home team actually playing a real game the "Dawgs" would've done the same thing to USC that they did to Hawaii. Everyone in the NCAA is scared of the SEC. Please feel free to disagree...

Guest IV:XX Report post Posted January 2, 2008 Since there is no intelligent discussion about the subject I started then feel free to delete the thread. I guess there must be some USC fans or SEC haters that can't handle the truth...

Maztinho 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2008 I'll bite. You can't say what Georgia did to a team that scraped by it's WAC schedule (you had trouble getting by Lousiana Tech, and I think only a couple of their teams where bowl eligible) to USC. Hawai'i is what's it's always been, a high powered offense that works against second tier colleges and wilts when facing a higher grade competition. I could easily say that USC would have drubbed them more fiercely that the Dawgs did (watching Steve Sarkisian run up the score on June Jones would be an awesome sight for me due to the old BYU/Hawaii rivalry). USC/Georgia would have been a much more interesting match-up, I'll agree, but "tradition" reared it's ugly head and not some "fear" of the SEC. I think that Bowls would rather have a memorable game than a blow-out. The SEC has good teams, a stronger conference than most, but you shouldn't use Hawaii's loss as your battlecry. Ripper 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2008 I don't know if USC's line could have been as destructive as Georgias was though. They destroyed that O-line and the passing game without blitzing...just with the down linemen. That was all kinds of awesome. I have to be honest, I had no idea who was going to win this game, because if Brennan had gotten time, they would have been able to score with Georgia. But he didn't get anytime because it looked like a recreation of that of that matt Hasselback insurance commercial.
