tominator89 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I'm going to visit the San Diego area in early March and was wondering what I should check out while I'm there. The first two things that came to mind were SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo. Any advice is appreciated.
Mik Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 You can tour Petco Park for something ridiculous like $7. I got to see the player parking lot, sit in the dugout, go in the press box, walk on the field. It was well worth 2x the price.
NoCalMike Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Last time I was there I went to the San Diego Wildlife Park. It was great. I also went to Sea World which was fun, but I was a kid so who knows now...
Guest Tzar Lysergic Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Go to mexicali and don't come back until you have indigestion.
Darthtiki Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Gaslamp, also the San Diego Maritime Museum (only because my parent's firm represents them), Kansas City Barbecue and La Jolla
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Be more specific when referring to La Jolla, Darthtiki. As for the topic, everyone's suggestions are pretty good. Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarters, the beachfront area where there's this long boardwalk you can tour all those beachy stores and such. There's plenty of places to go in San Diego.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 The only worthwhile thing to do when visiting San Diego: Going to TJ to partake in drinking, strip clubs and other shit you couldn't do in the States. Remember to take a few extra dollars to pay off the federales when they threaten to take you to nasty-ass Mexican jail!
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Coronado Island has some great surfing too, if you're into that.
phoenixrising Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 USS Midway. An aircraft carrier that served in Vietnam and the First Persian Gulf War. It's not far from the San Diego Maritime Museum. If you like airplanes it's definitely a must see. Also cool just to walk in and around an aircraft carrier. Hotel Del Coronado, and the Coronado Bridge. Supposedly the hotel is haunted. Oh yeah and TJ.
