JN News 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 The Backstory! The year was 1996 in WCW, and a 33 year old member of The Four Horsemen by the name of Brian Pillman was busy contemplating his future with WCW. There had been much talk of Pillman wanting to leave WCW because of politics, and because there was obvious tension between Brian Pillman and WCW head booker, Kevin Sullivan. There was basically a rumored respect issue between them. Pillman was on a roll with his "Loose Cannon" gimmick as well as being a Horseman along with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, & Chris Benoit. When WCW Vice President, Eric Bischoff learned of Pillman wanting to leave for possibly the WWF, he quickly sat down in his office with both Pillman and Sullivan. He told them that in WCW, "We're all supposed to be in this, together.", in referrence to WCW's current battle with the WWF. He told Pillman that WCW needs him. Pillman soon accepted Bischoff's plea for him to stay in WCW and remain with The Four Horsemen. Pillman thought it would be much better to stay on as a Horseman after learning about rumors that they were gonna shoehorn Steve McMichael into the group in Pillman's place. Eric also told him, Sullivan, and everyone else about his plan to bring Klique members, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, & Sean Waltman from the WWF into WCW, as part of a HUGE angle to bring WCW ratings. Pillman & Sullivan finally shook hands and called a truce in order to help make WCW a major competitor to the WWF. Stay tuned for more.............

PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 Pillman and Sullivan never had any legitimate heat. He left because it was only a matter of time before Hogan squashed him and hurt his character. Hogan heard Pillman's reaction when he came out of the crowd at a Nitro in March 1996 after he had been fired, and wanted to pin Pillman at the end of the triple-cage shit-fest at Uncensored '96, and Pillman saw it for what it was. JN News 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 WCW Monday Nitro (1-1-96) Announcers:Steve McMichael, Eric Bischoff, & Bobby Heenan "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage -Arn Anderson met Randy Savage on Nitro after Double A cost Savage the World Title at Starrcade. -Savage opened the match by laying into Anderson in the first moments. -Anderson rebounded by working on Savage's injured arm. -Arn DDT'ed Savage before reaching into his tights to use a pair of brass knuckles, but Savage countered. -Savage was about to get the pinfall victory, until Benoit & Pillman hit the ring, and layed a huge Horsemen beadown on Macho Man, along with Anderson, until Sting & Luger hit the ring to chase them off. -Luger chased off The Horsemen with a chair, while Sting tended to Savage. Winner:Randy Savage by DQ! Chris Benoit vs. Lord Steven Regal -This match had a lot of mat wrestling from both men. -Both men tried to make each other submit to various holds. -Regal had just about everything going for him, until The Horsemen hit the ring. -Brian Pillman had the referee distracted, while Arn DDT's Regal, allowing Benoit to make the cover and win. Winner:Chris Benoit Horsemen interview! The Horsemen just got done delivering yet another beatdown. This time, to Lord Steven Regal. Gene Okerlund gets into the ring, and trys to get an interview. Gene:Alright, gentlemen. Come on in here. It seems to me, Arn Anderson, Brian Pillman, & Chris Benoit that The Four Horsemen are definately back in business. Anderson:Gene Okerlund, I think you couldn't say it any better, because when The Horsemen come to town, we are always ready to make a statement, and that's exactly what happened, tonight and last week at Starrcade. You see, Ric Flair is the leader of The Four Horsemen. He is the World Heavyweight Champion for the 12th time, and that's how things are gonna stay, here in WCW. Ric Flair said a long time ago that when he got back in the ball game, he wouldn't just play, he'd win, and that's what happened on pay per view, Gene. Savage and Regal just found out what The Horsemen are all about, and Hogan, that same thing is gonna happen to you, tonight. You think you have Ric Flair where you want him? Think again. Benoit:Gene, there's nothing like seeing a victum of The Horsemen get his comeuppance. Get used to seeing it, WCW, because it's gonna happen for a very long time. Pillman:You see, Gene? What we have here is the ultimate dynasty in this great sport reigning supreme, once again. We told you that we were picking up where we left off in this sport, where this elite group last dominated, back in the 80's. We are gonna show the world that The Four Horsemen take no prisoners. I mean, think about the hitlist. Hogan, Savage, Sting, Luger, and even The Dungeon of Doom. We just don't care who it is. Anderson:Pillman, please quit starting fires and wars that we don't need to fight. The Champ has a big match coming up, soon, and we need to focus on keeping that title around Flair's waist. Gene:Alright, we need to go to break. Still to come, Flair and Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Title. Stay with us. However, before we went to break, The Dungeon of Doom went after The Horsemen, until The Giant restained them. Sting and Lex Luger vs. Super Assassins (w/Col. Parker) -Sting and Luger won this match with their submission moves. Nothing of serious note happened here. Interview with The Giant & Jimmy Hart! Hart & Giant are standing by with Gene. Gene:Jimmy Hart, I don't know who dresses you, but you sure look ridiculous. Hart:You know what, Okerlund? Shut up, because I have something to say. You see, Hogan? While you were out on suspension, I have been switching gears all over the place, associating myself with nothing but winners, baby. Whether it be Ric Flair, The Taskmaster, or the big Giant. As long as their winners, that's all that matters. Giant takes the mic. Giant:Hogan, just remember this. I know you're back. I know you're here, and when I get my hands on you, Hogan, you are gonna get yours, I promise you. WCW World Title match Ric Flair © vs. Hulk Hogan -This was the most anticipated match of the night, as two big legends went at it for the gold. -This match went back and forth, but Hogan got the upper hand, near the ending. -But, the ending saw The Horsemen hit the ring, and attack Hogan, causing a DQ. -Savage, Sting, & Luger made the rescue, however, and started an all out 8-man brawl in the ring. -But, The Giant made the real impact as he chokslammed Hogan, Savage, & Sting to cap off the show. Luger just bailed. Winner:Hulk Hogan by DQ!

JN News 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 WCW Monday Nitro for 7/8/96 The opening credits roll for Nitro, before we actually go out to the MGM Studios Disney, where Nitro announcers for the first hour, Tony Shavoine & Larry Zybysko welcome us to the show in the aftermath of Bash at the Beach. Tony:Hello, wrestling fans, and welcome to the pay per view fallout of Bash at the Beach. It certainly one of the most unforgettable, shocking, & disheartening events ever in the history of our sport. Tonight on WCW Monday Nitro, fans, we are gonna take you back to last night at Bash at the Beach, and show you exactly what happened in last night's main event, and show you the footage of what Hulk Hogan did to WCW. He was the third man joining The Outsiders in the six man tag match, last night. It was just terrible, Larry. Larry:You know, Tony. It was the biggest act of cowardice on the behalf of The Outsiders and Hulk Hogan. Right now is the time for WCW to strike back at those guys, and respond, big time. Tony:Let's get to the ring. WCW Cruiserweight Championship! Dean Malenko © vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr. -This match saw the crowning of a new Cruiserweight Champion in the aftermath of last night. -During the match, Rey gave some pre-recorded comments on Hogan betraying WCW and killing Hulkamania. -This match saw a lot of high-flying moves, as well as some mat wrestling moves that excited the fans. -One mistake saw Mysterio defeat Malenko by pinfall and win the title. Winner:and NEW WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Mysterio, Jr. Four Horsemen speak out! Mean Gene is standing by with The Four Horsemen, and their entourage of ladies for an interview. Gene:Alright. Thank you, Tony. I'm now standing by with The Four Horsemen. Arn Anderson, Brian Pillman, Chris Benoit, and also, the brand new WCW United States Champion, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. First off, let me talk to "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Double A, I know that you were one of millions of people that witnessed the atrocity of last night. Your thoughts. Anderson:Gene, what happened last night made me wanna puke. I never saw anything as heinous as what I saw, last night, and believe me, The Four Horsemen are known for doing heinous things in this sport. But, last night was too heinous, even for us. You see, you were supposed to stand for something, Hogan. You stood for everything that was right about this great sport, and you flushed it down the toilet. Well Hogan, just remember something. The Horsemen don't take too kindly to crap like what you pulled. You better watch your back from now on, because you've made your bed now, Hogan. Now, it's time for you to sleep in it. Pillman:Hogan, I want to make something very clear to you. Even though I never liked you, and even though I never trusted you. I always had a lot of respect for what did for this sport. Last night, you flushed my respect for you down the damn toilet, as The Enforcer said. Hogan, I always knew that you were nothing but trash. Now, I think it's time for The Four Horsemen to take out the trash. Benoit:Gene, last night was yet another brutal war for The Crippler. Kevin Sullivan, you may have won last night when you pinned me in the center of the ring. But, make no mistake about it, Sullivan. This war is far from over between you and me. I promise. Flair:Excuse me? Mean Gene, do you think for one second that just one shocker of all shockers is gonna bring down the champ? Hogan, I got news for you, pal. I know that the truth of the matter is that you know deep down inside that you are no longer "The Man" in this great sport, because Hogan, like I've said many times before. To be the man, you've got to beat the man. And Hogan, I am The Man. Woooooooooooooooo! La Cucaracha! Ha ha haaaaaa. Gene:Alright, we'll get back to you for more action. Fans, stay with us. The Blue Bloods vs. Hugh Morris & Big Bubba (w/Jimmy Hart) -Blue Bloods won this match when Regal pinned Bubba. Nothing special. Dungeon Of Doom interview! Gene:Alright, I'm standing by with members of The Dungeon of Doom. The Taskmaster, Jimmy Hart, and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, The Giant. Jimmy Hart, you've known Hulk Hogan for so many years. You've got to be as shocked as anyone, here in WCW. Jimmy:You know, Gene. I've seen it last night, and I still can't believe it. For the first time in my career, I'm at a loss for words. I just don't know what to say. Taskmaster:Gene, my whole purpose of existance was the absolute and total destruction of Hulkamania and Hulk Hogan. But, last night, instead of us getting the job done. He plucked it all away from us. He went and did it, himself. If everyone here in WCW had listened to me, 2 years ago about Hogan, none of this would ever have happened. Now, I have a new goal in life, and Benoit, that basically, is your destruction, and the demise of The Four Horsemen. Giant:Gene, look at it this way. I ended Hulkamania, last year when I beat him for this title at Halloween Havoc. And now, after our victory, last night, I don't have to defend my title, here tonight. Gene:Alright, you just heard it from The Dungeon of Doom. Stay with us. We got more coming up, after this break. We come back to see The Outsiders, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash covering the steel WCW logo with nWo lettering in sheets. in the crowd. Soon, they disappear. Eddie Guererro vs. Psychosis -Eddie won this match, which was filled with great high-flying moments, with the Frogsplash. Steiner Brothers vs. Nasty Boys -Steiners got the victory when Scott pinned Saggs with the Frankensteiner to earn he and his brother a shot at Harlem Heat for the WCW Tag Team Titles. WCW United States Championship! Ric Flair © (w/Woman & Elizabeth) vs. Jim Powers. -Another great match from The Nature Boy, who successfully defended his title against Jim Powers. -Powers got a decent amount of offense into the match. -But, the experience and cunning of the champ was too much for Powers, who submitted to figure four leglock of Flair. Winner:and STILL WCW United States Champion, Ric Flair! Chris Benoit (w/Brian Pillman) vs. Sgt. Craig Pittman -Chris Benoit won another match for The Four Horsemen by defeating Pittman with the Crippler Crossface. Winner:Chris Benoit Arn Anderson vs. Sting -Sting was red hot in his encounter with The Enforcer of the Four Horsemen. -This was a seesaw battle between both men, who gave it their all. -Sting got the victory by submission with the Scorpion Deathlock. -The Outsiders came down to ringside, but got chased off by Sting, Savage, & The Horsemen. Winner:Sting Savage & Sting interview! Gene:Alright, Sting, I wanna get a quick word with you on last night. Sting:Last night, Gene, was a disgrace to WCW, and a disgrace to our great sport. Hogan, you stabbed every single little kid that looked up to you, and you showed no remorse. But, most of all, you told them to stick it. No, you stick it, Hulk. You stick it. Now, you're gonna pay dearly for all the hearts that you broke, last night. If not by me, then definately by the Macho Man. Savage:Ooooooooooooh Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaah! Hollywood Hogan, from now on. You had better look over your shoulder, and over your head, because you have no idea what I will have in store for you. YEAH! *commercial* Outsiders interview! Gene:Alright, now I'm standing by with the two Outsiders, Hall and Nash. Gentlemen, you have got to be kidding me. Hulk Hogan was someone that we all thought we could look up to, and trust. Nash:Gene, all you need to know is, the nWo is now in the driver's seat, like we always knew we'd be all along. Thanks to our main man, The Hulkster. We'll have no problem taking over this dump. Hall:Gene, this interview has been brought to you by the New World Order, The Outsiders, and Hulk Hogan. Gene:Well, I beg to differ. But, folks, that's it. We are out of time. We will see you this weekend with WCW Saturday Night, among others. *Eric Bischoff & Bobby Heenan close out the show by showing the footage of the PPV, and both Bischoff & Heenan giving their commentary on Hulk Hogan's betrayal.* *end of show*
