PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 So, I stream KLSX everyday for the sole purpose of listening to the Adam Carolla. In between segments I'm force-fed clips of the Tom Leykis show- clips that are supposed to sell me (a 26 year old male, their target demographic) on his program. The clips they play are rather... unfunny. Between the uninspired misogyny and low functioning callers, I cannot find a single reason to tune in... am I just missing something? Is the show that much more entertaining than they make it out to be? Why would 97.1 do that?
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Leykis used to be funny. What do you expect from 50 year old, balding, divorced 50 times, Howard Stern lite, shock jock?
Youth N Asia Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 He's just a badly gimmicked shock jock. I was pleased when my talk radio provider kept putting him at worse and worse time slots before just dropping the show altogether.
Darthtiki Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 He's not bad in small doses such as when he does the tasting room on weekends (which is a fine living/food show), but his schtick gets repetitive
the max Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 The best Leykis story is the one when he hit his wife in the face with a glass of booze and tried to shove her head into the fireplace.
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 The best Leykis story is the one when he hit his wife in the face with a glass of booze and tried to shove her head into the fireplace. See, that's the kind of stuff that KLSX needs to tout if they really want to increase their numbers.
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Had so many threads on Leykis in the past. Anyways, I used to like Leykis back in the day, but then I grew up. He has an audience of losers, fuck-ups and all around assholes that hang on his every word like its the gospel. He is okay in small doses like others have said, but he really is repetitive once you get his act. That being said some of his advice on women is pretty accurate and has saved me from a headache or two.
