Anyone else notice that chick dancing to Big John Studd's theme? She looked like she was on the joy juice. Though she was quite hot in a 1980s way.

Not entirely WMV related but a topic came up very briefly in the No Way Out chat about the least successful Royal Rumble winner (based on post RR success). I don't think a strong argument can be made against Big John Studd. All he really did afterwards was referee Andre/Jake and have some terrible matches on house shows with Akeem and Andre The Giant. I watched a Andre Vs Studd match from a MSG or Boston Garden show a month or so back on YouTube and it was atrocious. It made their '84/'85 series look like Steamboat/Flair. I know there were probably bigger plans for Studd and he was too old or got injured but I'm judging this on what actually happened as opposed to what was supposed to happen.

The idea was to bring back Studd as a monster babyface to feud with the heel Andre. The premise being that it would be a recreation of their '85 run but in reversed roles and I believe they had an idea that it would be booked second from the top at Mania. Alas, Studd was a shell at this point and no one really cared.

Pretty sure we're on the same page. Don't remember the color of the shirt but I do remember it being like 2 sizes too big for her.

Don't forget that Studd and Andre also had a feud in 83 as well as the famous one in 85.

 

Plus, they were supposed to feud *again* in 87 if Studd had not left the company due to injury (With Andre as heel and Studd as face)

 

Then of course you had the potential 89 feud.

 

Vince really loved putting those two guys together.
