CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 Quite a race going on in the Leastern Division.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 I dont know what else to do to improve my offense but the good news is Im in the east so I have a shot. yeah!
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 I made quite a few changes, mostly trying to maximize my bench by filling roles and weaknesses rather than having the best players. Kent Tekulve claims the closer's role.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 I've made a lot of changes to my team. It usually doesn't make a difference.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 I might have to play Rob Deer more often. 11 Home Runs in only 87 at bats and a .800 slugging %.
Bored 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 I swear everytime I claw my way back to .500 I go on a 6 or 7 game losing streak immediately after that.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 What's that number in brackets next to our names in the standings? Whatever it is, I'm glad that mine is the only negative one. I'm still not sure how most of my hitters are so shitty.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Im 2-8 in my last 10 and sinking like a brick. bleh
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Meanwhile, I've won 12 of my last 14 games. I've opened up a seven game lead on the division. Still 69 games left though, lots of time in the season.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I have one starting position player batting over .250 right now. I just had two pitchers combine on a one-hitter...and lose 1-0. But I'm still tied for the division lead. Damned if I can figure that one out.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I swept the Ice Hoes! Worst beats first! Still last place in the league!
Bored 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I just had two pitchers combine on a one-hitter...and lose 1-0. And if you noticed it was a lead off homerun by RICKEY~ that was the only hit. Once again I clawed my way back to .500 and then once again I lost 6 out of 7 almost immediately after. It has happened four times now, almost the same exact pattern each time. If I only played games in my division I'd be pretty damn good as I'm 23-13 in division but 30-45 against the rest of the league.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2008 I had both of my catchers go for a combined 9-10 with 3 HRs in the final game vs the bibles. thats some of the best offense Ive seen from my team.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 Im only 6 GB with 40+ games to go, despite having an offense thats scored 22 runs fewer than the 2nd worst team and a pitching staff thats now about middle of the pack. Hopefully I can catch Al here late only being 6 back. I made one good move in picking up Bo Diaz for catcher, but Rich Gedman has gone nuts homering in 5 straight games he's played in which is why I moved him to dh. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 Boy, am I glad I'm not in the West Division. Someone there is going to probably going to have the third-best record in the league and still miss the playoffs. The rest of us SUUUUUUUCK.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2008 I'm finally, slowly, coming around as I've won 5 of my last 8 and actually took 2 games from the Ice Hoes...
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 How about that Hubie Brooks. He's on his way to winning the Triple Crown. The Apostles mangage to stay in first place despite being outscored by twenty runs.
Richard 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 14-25 since the halfway point. Guess I better make a few changes.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2008 Since the changes on 4/22... 8-4 with 64 RS vs. 65 RA.
Richard 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2008 Make it 14-28. I don't even know where to begin.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 36 games left, we're in the last two weeks of the simulation. I've got a four game lead on Bored, eight on HarleyQuinn. I think I can improve my team going into the stretch run by cutting unproductive pitchers and running my guys on shorter rest.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 Getting sweeped in 3 games all but killed any shot I had at making up serious ground, unfortunately.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 Getting sweeped in 3 games all but killed any shot I had at making up serious ground, unfortunately. Don't give up, 12 of those 36 are head-to-head.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2008 My team sucks on the road (21-42) mainly because the offense never shows up..I dont get that since Memorial Stadium is pitcher friendly..you'd think the offense wouldnt show up at home. My pitching has been about the same both home and away.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 My team got an incredibly timely sweep of the Ice Hoes, with Tony Fernandez hitting for the cycle in the third game.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Boy, am I glad I'm not in the West Division. Someone there is going to probably going to have the third-best record in the league and still miss the playoffs. The rest of us SUUUUUUUCK. I know, right? Hopefully I can keep up my recent success, and the Ice Hoes keep slipping. And how is 18-5 Oil Can Boyd not in the running for the Cy?
JHawk 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 7 games out in a three team race with 21 head-to-head remaining with the top two. 71-58 and I might not even end up with the wild card when I'd be winning either of the other two divisions. I love this game.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 And how is 18-5 Oil Can Boyd not in the running for the Cy? Probably something to do with his 4.57 ERA.
