the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Well, obviously they needed to let him back for the last regular season game to get him back up to speed for the playoffs. Campbell: "In attempting to free himself, Pronger carelessly and recklessly brought his foot down" See, just recklessness, not a stomp. I appreciate Campbell making it so easy to see through his bullshit.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Honestly, the first time I saw it was in slow motion on The Score the following day; It really did look like he was trying to untangle his foot from Kessler....has this 'other angle' clip been shown? I've only seen the one replay. Huge win for the Bruins just now, in overtime over Philly. The point gives Philly some extra breathing room too, especially coming off Buffalo's big win last night over the 'Canes. By the way, that ProLine I mentioned last weekend on here, where I went 11/12, missing out on the $1500 prize? The game I incorrectly guessed was for Buffalo to beat Carolina - my Sabres fan buddy is going to get an earful tonight when we go out drinking.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 His foot was free, then came down straight onto him. So I don't buy the tied up excuse in the slightest. I love the end sequence there. Thomas stones Carter on a breakaway and then Biron gives up a god damn 40 footer. I saw someone put it perfectly. In the OT, on the 3-on-3, the Bruins were playing 2F/1D while the Flyers were playing 1F/2D. That shows one team trying to win the game and the other team trying to ride out the 5 minutes (to lead to a shootout where they suck balls anyway?!?). the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Oh, and Jaroslav Modry sucks at life. That is all.
the max 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Philly started that 3-on-3 with 2F/1D but Murray almost ended it. It looked like they tried to get a last second line change before that faceoff, but the officials wouldn't let them since the Bruins had already made their change. Great game this afternoon though. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 This isn't fair. The one night I want to watch a Leafs game (my wife and her friend are there), all the CBC channels here are showing either Montreal or Vancouver.
treble 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Go CKWS.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 I don't get CKWS. Also, amazingly, of the seven CBC channels I get, Toronto isn't one of them. But, it is on Centre Ice, which I just thought to check.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 I don't get CKWS. Also, amazingly, of the seven CBC channels I get, Toronto isn't one of them. But, it is on Centre Ice, which I just thought to check. You have Expressvu, I assume? I thought that was ridiculous that it didn't have a Toronto station. Equally silly was how high my bill was in November - 278 for phone, lite internet and the smallest tv package available. Centre Ice/Sunday Ticket/ 6100 box were close to half that bill price. The 60 HD channels aren't enough to bring me back.....pretty close, though.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 No, I have Rogers. Ironically, I used to have ExpressVu, and I'm pretty sure it DID have CBC Toronto. I'm paying 250 for phone, high-speed internet, HD TV + Super Sports Pak, and rental for two HD PVRs. Knock off the PVRs, which we'll probably do very soon, and we'll be around 200. ObHockey: Just when I think they've turned the corner, the Senators go down to Raleigh and lay a huge fucking egg. I'm pretty much resigned to the 4-5 matchup. But, they did win the East from the 4-hole last year.

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 And it must have put salt in the wounds when Joe Corvo scored a hat-trick this afternoon too.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Do you expect Gerber to actually carry the team? No, I expect them to win a lot of 5-4 type games. Anything Gerber can give us is a bonus. The Sun had an article on the back page yesterday on how Emery could be cut for only a $500K cap hit per year over the next four years. I was pretty happy to hear that. My dad and I were discussing that yesterday: Do buy-outs count against the cap? From what it sounds, the entire salary isn't paid, but there's a penalty. If the player is under 26 years old, only half his salary counts against the cap if he's cut. (Emery will be 26 in September.) The team is allowed to spread it over a four-year period. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Does Ottawa have anyone good in their farm league for goaltending? Brian Elliott came up while Emery was injured at the start of the year and got a shutout in his only start. He's supposed to be decent. Hasn't had a great season in Binghamton, though he's only 22 and this is his first pro season.

In the East, Florida's got it to just two points back, winning seven in a row, It would be pretty funny if Florida made the playoffs and Vancouver missed out. I find I'm starting to despise my fellow Canucks fans...they're so reactionary. Win one game = "Canucks going to the finals whoo!". Lose one game = "I hate the Canucks, Naslund is an ECHL calibre player, the Sedins should be split up and/or traded and/or shot" etc. It's retarded.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Never been to Toronto, have you? And honestly? I'll be the first to admit most Hab fans, including myself (and certainly the media) are a pretty fickle bunch.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Yeah, I hear Toronto is much worse. But still, it's sad. Even when the Canucks are winning their "fans" whine and complain and demand that changes be made. I can see why players prefer to play in a market like St. Louis or Florida...no pressure and no retarded media hounding you for a soundbyte that will be replayed and analyzed for the next week.
