cabbageboy Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Yeah that was crap. I was hoping for the Belmont win even though it would totally wreck my bracket. My bracket is already nearly screwed anyway, what with wrong picks on 8/9 games and some upsets like UGA that didn't quite pan out. I agree somewhat on UCLA but I still just don't think they consistently score enough points to win it all. You know, with the lame bracket they are in though I think WVU is the only scary team they could play. WVU did beat them in 2006 and 07, but I don't know if I trust Bob Huggins to get that far. Huggins does at least have some actual ballplayers leftover from the Beilein era, rather than his usual array of misfits and thugs.
Guest Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Drake's being given a really hard time. Too bad GUS isn't there for that one.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 Overheard: "I didn't think Jonathon Cox would have the advantage on the inside." Silly announcer, Cox ALWAYS has the advantage on the inside.
Kinetic Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 That "'Dude' Guy Goes to Vegas" commercial is beyond disturbing.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 And Davidson has come back on top of Gonzaga! Which game to chooooooooooose. Also, WKU has dominated Drake since the last 3 minute or so of the first half, so it looks we'll got the obligatory 12/5 upset out of the way.
Fökai Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Curry is ridiculous. EDIT: Okay, that shot of a despondent Adam Morrison in the crowd has made my tournament already.
nogoodnick Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 I'm loving Stephen Curry right now. Too bad they have to probably play Georgetown next round.
Cheech Tremendous Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 This Drake-WK game is fantastic. So glad I took today off instead of yesterday.
CanadianChris Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Is Good Friday not a holiday in the States?
Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 I like Verne Lundquist's endless puns on Josh Young's name, and the fact that Klayton Korver -s BUZZER BEEEEEEATERRRRRRR YEEEEAH
CanadianChris Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 My God, that was a ridiculous shot. Stuck a knife right through my bracket.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 My God, that was a ridiculous shot. Stuck a knife right through my bracket. Hate the Drake !!!
Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Good enough to interrupt my typing. Took 20 games, but we got a buzzer beater. Awesome game, absurd shot. Getting that game and Adam Morrison looking sad in the stands of Gonzaga/Davidson makes this the best flight of games so far.
Guest Beastalentier Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Well, that one stings a tad, doesn't it. A few of my aunts and uncles went to Drake. Frowns all around.
2GOLD Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 That was just messed up man. That was just messed up. It wasn't even really a good look!
Kinetic Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 I haven't seen Adam Morrison at all in the NBA, but the guy looks more like the bass player in a Metallica cover band now than he ever did before.
Cheech Tremendous Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Best thing about today was Adam Morrison looking like a homeless Vietnam war veteran. That image is burned on my retinas. But anyways, Western Kentucky just screwed my bracket, but that game was worth it. That shot was incredible.
Guest Smues Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Anyone got a screen cap of Morrison today? I'm curious how awful he looked.
Brett Favre Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Best thing about today was Adam Morrison looking like a homeless Vietnam war veteran. He always looks like that.
PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH! Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 A.J. Price just went down with a knee injury and I have UConn in the Final Four. Awesome.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 Some coach thinks expanding the field is a good idea? I'm sorry, but when your 64th team loses a game 70-29, it's a good sign that the last teams are already a bit overmatched.
Kinetic Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 The team UCLA beat was one of the small-conference automatic bids, though. The idea behind expanding the tournament is to give the bubble teams that wouldn't make it otherwise a chance to prove that they belong. I don't think it's necessary, personally. These teams all had their regular season and conference tournament to make an impression.

These teams all had their regular season and conference tournament to make an impression. And that whole bubble thing amuses me. In College football, analysts complain that deserving teams are left out when they only take the top two teams. College Basketball has a 65 team field, and people STILL complain about which teams were left out.
Cheech Tremendous Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 If there were 128 teams, the bubble would just shift and the 129th and 130th teams would start complaining. Expanding the field is not necessary.
