Please be aware that the 24/7 sub-folder is now located in this folder as well. It is located at the top of the page and can be used for all relevant discussion to WWE's 24/7 subscription service.

This thread is going to remain in the WWE folder from now on. It can be used for questions about the board or its posters, comments about the state of things and suggestions for the future. The moderators aren't here to make this thing into their own personal playground. We just want to hang around and make sure you're gettting the most out of your posting experience.

Use this thread for any board matters at all. We are also soliciting ideas for future TSM Town Hall threads. Post those here as well.

Onward and upward.

So we are roughly one week into this new ownership. I hope that Dandy and I have made some positive changes to the folder. We are aware that this is a work in progress and I assure that we'll keep plugging away.

We've noticed that the folder is usually busy on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays (and sometimes Sunday with PPV) for the tv show threads. We're trying to add some new mid-week discussion topics that posters can look forward to.

TSM Town Hall, for the time being, is going to be new every Wednesday. However, we still need ideas for Thursday and the weekends. Our first idea is WWE Profile, which will examine a new wrestler each week and give us a chance to reflect on their past contributions and speculate on how they should be used for the future. Does that sound like something you'd want to see?

Please send any other ideas that you might have. We really want your feedback on how to continually improve the folder.

I have an idea for a regular thread, Cheech. A weekly series called "Behind The Match" where we analyze a somewhat recent match (within the five years rule), the storyline leading up to it, maybe some juicy backstage tidbits about it, and the impact it's had on the workers in said match. This thread could also work in General Wrestling (Behind The Match OLD SCHOOL!)

I suggest Hulk Hogan/Shawn Michaels for Week One.

What's the deal with Wrestling Observer notes? Does Meltzer not like people posting them on sites? Do people just not post them because they don't get thanked?

I've always liked reading the Observer notes and they brought alot of discussion to the folder. They used to be a regular thing, now they only pop up every now and then. If anyone subscribes to the Observer maybe they can start posting them regularly? Maybe as a mod YOU should subscribe to the observer, just for the purpose of posting them.

...

Next poster: Subscribe if you want to read them.

Me: I don't care THAT much.

There, I saved that conversation from happening.

That's a pretty dumb idea.

I get the Observer, and I've thought of posting some notes, but too many people end up whining about something or other for me to want to take the time to do it

Maybe you can post them, and anyone who whines gets thrown into the gulag for a day. That will satisfy the needs of the people who want to see more people thrown in there, and the needs of people who enjoy reading/discussing the Observer notes.

Here's the thing. We'd love to have someone type up Observer notes, but the fact still remains that it is premium content (and it costs a considerable amount of money). It's kind of a lot to ask other posters to not only pay for the product, but spend their free time transcribing it for dozens of others who didn't pay anything.

I've asked a couple of people. We'll see what happens.

Like I said, they create conversation in the folder, which is what we want. Buying it and reading them to yourself doesn't create any conversation. Unless we start an OAO observer subscribers thread, and everybody somehow talks about them in there without leaking out the information.

I'm willing to give it a try Kamala. Feel free to start the thread yourself and explain what you hope to get out of it. I'd love to see what you have in mind. Seems like an interesting venture.

Okay, we need to get a consensus here. It was brought up in the Smackdown thread that it would be good to have the matches listed (sans spoilers) for the show via the spoilers thread. I don't mind that at all, but I know that people have had a problem with that in the past due to surprises, booking decisions on the show, etc. Which do you prefer: listing the matches that might ruin a small surprise or not listing the matches? Let us know.

Certainly an option.

Edit---Just speaking personally, however, it will no doubt spawn discussion that will necessitate spoiler tags, and that usually leads to half the posts in the thread being tagged and the other half not discussing spoilers. I will do whatever the majority wants to do, but I would prefer the spoiler discussion be discussed in the actual thread we have for it. No sense in making two threads spoilerish.

Yes, you could. In the past, some posters have stated that revealing any matches not listed in the preview are "spoilers" for them. If we were to decide to keep any matches that were non-spoilers under that regard, we wouldn't need to post them in the first place because they would be mentioned in the preview anyway. ALl of these things need to be discussed and agreed upon.

Serious business!

I read the preview, and it doesn't mention Jesse and Festus face The Edgeheads. I really think if any poster complains that you put that in the thread, then that's pretty sad

We are trying to accomodate the consensus of the folder, Bob. If you want to ridicule our attempts, please do so in the Verizon Wireless Chocolate Socket.

I'm not ridiculing your attempts at all- it's what cheech has in his avatar.

If a segment or opening interview leads to a match later in the show- that could probably be tagged.

A random match, even if its not listed in the preview, is not spoiling anything

While that makes sense to you and I, others don't want anything spoiled. That is why I am asking it here. Frankly, I think if it is a spoiler of any sort, it can be brought up in the spoiler thread. Matt asked if we could put the match list in the show thread, so I'm seeing if that is okay with the masses. We want to do what the majority of the folder agrees upon. If there are a bunch of posters who would rather not know any of the matches, random or not, then they shouldn't have that "spoiled" for them whether we think that way or not.

I vote listing the matches. I don't see how listing a match which isn't in the preview will start a spoiler discussion? People on here know better then to discuss spoilers in the shows thread.

I don't care personally, but I can see how listing matches could bother some people. The preview for the show is like it is for a reason, because they don't want people to know about some matches before the show.

I would say if people want a list of matches, we should make sure that the first post in the spoiler threads list the matches and nothing else... The second post being the full spoilers. Then if somebody wants a list of the matches but not any other spoilers, they can check that thread.

Maybe not a bad idea, twizted. It would take a universal effort to keep that format, though. We could certainly try that.

My personal feeling is that the Smackdown Thread should contain the WWE preview only and be used for actual discussion of the show with no spoilers. If you want to know what happens, check the spoilers thread. It would be really difficult to accomodate those who want to know the matches, but don't want anything else spoiled.

That said, I'm willing to go along with what the folder wants.

OK, I was kind of hoping someone else would do it but I can certainly do it myself. I'll start it tomorrow morning. The idea is basically a Town Hall ripoff. Which I might add is one of the best ideas to hit TSM in ages. Kudos to Dandy.
