Considering he's hardly been used this season, there's no reason Wagner couldn't have worked five outs.

Wagner pitched 1 inning saves the last 2 days against Washington. Yeah, he didn't get many opportunities before that. But, closing 3 straight days is questionable enough especially with ol' Billy.

 

I'm often critical of him -- but good grief, he's better than Aaron Heilman.

So, you're critical of Billy Wagner. Yeah, he's a prick, but he's also one of the best closers of all fucking time. He hasn't allowed a run this year, and has a .143 WHIP.

 

Heilman has a had a fairly rough 10 innings so far this year. There's a ton of relievers and closers who are worse. Let's never pitch them again.

So what does everyone think of Dennis Dixon? I really liked the guy before he got injured and I hear he's just an absolute freak because he's farther along in his recovery than he should be. I think someone will get a steal in the later rounds.

Your comment isn't bullshit... more so the local Cleveland station I get that thinks he's clutch, can't lose him, blah blah blah... because he's GRITTY and DIRTY throwing that 83 MPH heat that gets pounded every at-bat.

 

Granted, there's some validity to this as Betancourt, Perez and Kobayashi (the Jap version of Borowski, a shitload of saves despite pitching terribly) are not pitching great.

 

But, Borowski is awful. He's not clutch. I don't believe he's ever thrown a 1-2-3 inning.

Why are we assuming that Joba would just be a "serviceable" starter.
