Desert Island Draft Thread:

 

We have 12 people participating. We will do a serpentine-style draft. Each person has 12 hours to make his selection. If the 12 hours has passed the next person can feel free to make a pick. Once the person who is passed gets back online, they may make their missed pick at any time. I am not going to put a restriction on amount of gimmick matches one person can have because with 12 people there aren't many gimmick matches that have occured less than 12 times. (If you feel like you have to have the Undertaker-Boss Man Hell in a Cell, get it EARLY!)

 

Intro packages before the match could be included, as well as memorable post-match celebrations/shenanigans.

 

Matches added on after one has taken place (ex: Cruiser Battle Royal, Malenko-Jericho or Elimination Chamber, Edge-Cena) would all count towards one match.

 

When you make your pick, please try to include a pic, the date of which this match occurred, stipulations/titles and a brief description of why you love said match.

At the rate we are going, with only 18 participants, we still only get to make our choices every two days. This thing is going to go on well into July. That, and, when all is said and done, we will have chosen nearly 700 wrestlers between all of us. It's the kind of thing where about 15 people or so can do it at a time. The good news is that there will be future drafts for those who did not get an opportunity to get in on the initial one.

Personally, I think it should be along the lines of; a certain match-up can only be chosen once in the draft and a certain wrestler can only appear once on a particular person's card/roster. Otherwise, somebody could just snap up a battle royal or Royal Rumble Match and hamstring everyone else.

It all sounds good. It all depends what kind of draft it is.

 

Desert Island Draft usually denotes simply picking the matches you'd want with you (like the music draft).

Exclusive Rosters and Cards take it to a whole other level. Either way, I'm still in.

I like being able to just choose 20 matches and then voting. I hate to add too many rules, then people get confused and it leads to more questions. I think if someone wants to take 20 matches of "Wrestler X" then they should be able to. It's like in the music draft, if I wanted to take 20 Rolling Stones albums I could, if I wanted. Only being able to have 1 wrestler per list might make it too difficult to choose between a certain series of matches or ones throughout a career. Maybe only like 1 Royal Rumble match per list or something like that, but I don't think that tag or singles matches should have a set limit. Just my opinion.

I do like the idea of only taking exclusive rosters and matches, but lets save that for another time.
