Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 When did the Nintendo Press conferance start? I thought it was at 10.
Exslade ZX Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Show some games damnit! It seems so far, all Nintendo is doing is saying how well their games are selling. Although they've shown 2. And as soon as I post this he says there's 3 more >_>
BUTT Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Three new games? THREE? Clone Wars? I already knew about this! Same for Rayman!

And as soon as I post this he says there's 3 more >_> Nintendo normally shows their sales figures before they really get into games. Three new games? THREE? Clone Wars? I already knew about this! Same for Rayman! Nintendo was showing 3rd party titles when it came to Rayman, Call of Duty, and clone wars. YAY ANIMAL CROSSINGS!
Mik Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Does Wii Music look as bad as it sounds from reading the engadget liveblog?
Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Overall I think the Nintendo conferance was kinda weak but at the same time I had a feeling Nintendo didn't have anything big to annouce since all their big games have already come out, so I don't know what Nintendo was going to pull out as a big giant surprise or annoucment or at least I wasn't expecting them to.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 15, 2008 Author Report Posted July 15, 2008 Surprised Andrew hasn't been posting around here lately, guess he's on another forum
dubq Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Is E3 as big as it used to be? I thought I read something earlier this year about a bunch of companies not renewing their memberships and no longer being a part of the show.
Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Basically yeah, a lot of companies started to feel that E3 was becoming to crowded and to big/popular with general audiences instead of being a place for game companies to get press, so a lot of companies pulled out of the expo because of these reasons.
dubq Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Ahh, gotcha. One thing that's confusing me.. I'm surfing a few sites and am seeing that, via E3, Koei is releasing new art/screenshots for ROTK XI.. a game that came out a year ago.. what's the deal? The US Wii version is still listed as cancelled but I'd gladly go for it and it's widescreen goodness if they're actually going to go through with it!
Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Anyone want to bet if Sony will lie about sales figures at all? I got $5.00 for it.
Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Sony Press Conferance = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Exslade ZX Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Sony Press Conferance = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Well, one thing that can be said about Sony, is that they know how to work a light/music show. Even though that's pretty pointless. edit- Little, Big Planet actually looks pretty fun. I wonder how long it'll take before the world's filled with Goatse men, and penis'...or peni, I have no idea, though. Considering it took about 1 hour with Spore. Only thing with games like that though, is the possibilities are seemingly endless, but I usually suck balls at that, and can never seem to get anything anywhere near as good as stuff I've seen online.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted July 15, 2008 Author Report Posted July 15, 2008 Little, Big Planet is the only other game I'm aware of at the moment that I'd get on my PS3, love the idea behind it.
Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 I agree Little Big Planet looked pretty cool...Resistance though, eh it looked very nice but I didn't get the "Oh! I need to play that game" feeling.
Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Who had this as a wrestling theme? Was it Jamie Noble? I know I used for a CAW in a Smackdown vs Raw game. Edit: It was Helms!
BUTT Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Does Wii Music look as bad as it sounds from reading the engadget liveblog? No man, Wii Music looks awesome. It was the only thing at the Nintendo conference that I liked.
Scroby Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Did he just say it'll take a an hour to download a two hour movie? I could walk to and from a video store before the movie would even be fully downloaded.
Exslade ZX Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Awww fuck, I've spent this whole press conference thinking in my head, that Sony really hasn't enticed me into buying a PS3 at all. I've only ever wanted one for Blu-ray capability, as there have been no games on the system that I like... but a game that involves the DC Universe..? Fuckin A, they may have just sold it to me, and I haven't even seen gameplay yet.
Ripper Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Did he just say it'll take a an hour to download a two hour movie? I could walk to and from a video store before the movie would even be fully downloaded. Oh come on, thats just wanting to complain. That is a pretty good download speed to get a movie that long downloaded in that time.
Ripper Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 but a game that involves the DC Universe..? Fuckin A, they may have just sold it to me, and I haven't even seen gameplay yet. Many of bad games have been sold on that premise. See: Every superman, batman and justice league game ever.

Many of bad games have been sold on that premise. See: Every superman, batman and justice league game ever. Very true. I'm thinking MK/DC will be another game in that category. From that vid preview they just showed, it looked like pretty simplistic gameplay but....I saw Sinestro, in a Sinestro Corps Uniform! And Black Adam! It'll probably suck, but, it did look nice at least.
Ripper Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 I still dont understand how they screwed up that Xmen Legends rip off with the DC Universe. I mean for christ sake, all they had to do was ripoff the gameplay with DC characters. I mean, there was that problem with basically all of the DC characters being gamebreakers, but still.

I could walk to and from a video store before the movie would even be fully downloaded. Oh come on, thats just wanting to complain. That is a pretty good download speed to get a movie that long downloaded in that time. Really? I'm not looking for something to complain about. If that's true for even the 360, I rather just walk to a videostore and rent a movie.
dubq Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Hey now, Justice League Heroes wasn't THAT bad. Sure it was a poor man's X-Men Legends, but still the best DC game ever made outside of the two Batman Animated games, IMO.

If you choose to do so. Although I, like you said would prefer to just rent a movie from a store, or download on my PC rather then just taking up space on my game consoles.
ChrisMWaters Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 For Nintendo: Maybe they're going to keep one of their bigger titles a surprise, like they did when they had the late night get-together that showed off the first "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" trailer? Also, I'm curious what the reaction will be from fanboys about the now announced DS "Grand Theft Auto" game.
AndrewTS Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 For Nintendo: Maybe they're going to keep one of their bigger titles a surprise, like they did when they had the late night get-together that showed off the first "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" trailer? Their big surprise might be, like, one core 1st party game? That isn't cutting it. Also, I'm curious what the reaction will be from fanboys about the now announced DS "Grand Theft Auto" game. The answer is: none. Nobody really cares. Just like how nobody cared about the Game Boy GTA titles. Hey now, Justice League Heroes wasn't THAT bad. Sure it was a poor man's X-Men Legends, but still the best DC game ever made outside of Adventures of Batman & Robin on SNES. Because you can't honestly be saying Sin Tzu and Vengeance. Surprised Andrew hasn't been posting around here lately, guess he's on another forum sad.gif Something like that. Nintendo's press coverage sucked my ass, but I would hope they have a few real games to show at E3. Save for Mad World, I'd give up my Wii today for Infamous right now.
