Guest Anglesault Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 That would only givr Vince another reason to can Jeff
Guest chirs3 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I guess that's true - if I remember, the official rules are whoever unhooks the belt and then has their feet hit the mat while holding it wins. But what if little Jeffy doesn't wanna let go? Edit: Oh wow, that sounded wrong.
Guest jester Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I think Hardy will grab the belt, but he won't win. I see the ref taking a bump, Hardy grabs the belt but the ref is down. Taker hits the Last Ride, ref wakes up, sees UT with the belt and gives him the win. I'm with you on that prediction. The match will basically be Hardy bumping for UT. Taker can't possibly do the kinds of ladder spots the Hardy boyeeeez do. Taker will dominate the match, Hardy gets in some mild offense for a few seconds with the referee knocked out, climbs ladder, gets belt. Taker goes back into squash mode, trashes Hardy, picks up belt in time for the ref to see him with it, he retains. I see that scenario with a possible addition of a heel turn for Matt, or Raven interfering. If by some chance Hardy does win the belt...and I REALLY can't see this happening, he'll be holding it for all of five minutes before jobbing to someone, probably Taker again. jester
Guest Just call me Dan Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 A very cool finish to this ladder match would be Jeff besting the Taker after an extended squash. He would climb the ladder and there would be no way Taker could personally get up there and stop him. So he busts up Hebner. Jeff reaches for the belt and pulls it down. He cradles it and the fans explode. As he looks down at Taker, he's breathing hard, and thin it sets in. No bell. Taker is grinning and shakes the ladder to taunt Jeff. Jeff climbs to the top step and leaps off at Taker with the belt still in his hands. he straddles his shoulders and tries a hurricanrana in which Taker lifts him back up and nails the Last ride. Jeff plumits to the mat with a sick thud. He lays there still clutching the title. Undertaker rips it from his hands and stomps away until Hebner comes to and calls for the bell and the Taker win. No chance in hell the WWE would give us an innovative finish like that, it'll be same old shit from here on out. I swear they've lost all capabilities of surprising us. That would be pretty bad ass, IMO if pulled off correctly.
Guest chirs3 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I don't think Hardy should get the belt down at all. It's putting Jeff Hardy OVER (not in wrestling terms) The WORLD CHAMPION. JR will be shouting "Dammit, Jeff Hardy should be the Undisputed Champion!" Would it be suspenseful? Yes. It would also be giving Hardy WAAAAAY too much.
Guest mach7 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Yeah, it's gonna be another one of those Dusty finishes. Just like the RVD/Taker title match a few weeks ago. Though, right now, how much sense does it make to have Taker & Lesnar fighting at Summerslam... ? Though, there's no way in hell Jeff Hardy vs. Brock Lesnar would headline Summerslam.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Maybe the Undertaker can get his lackey from last week, Raven, or Matt Hardy to climb up the ladder and get the belt for him. Plus if Raven helps keep the title off of Jeff, maybe Vince will see that he has enough "ruthless agression" to return to Raw.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I actually wouldn't mind Jeff Hardy winning the title so much. At least then the WWE title could be defended in Ladder matches and the like. Just because Jeff Hardy doesn't wrestle like Benoit, have the pull of Triple H or the size of the Undertaker, doesn't mean that he hasn't paid his dues. He has taken sick bumps for the company, much like Foley did. Plus, whether "smarks" want to admit it or not, the Hardyz are top babyfaces.. even if it is just with the female teenager demographic. They still get big pops. I find it as just another ploy to get the "net' folks" riled up.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I actually like the Hardys, although they've stopped doing the sick bumps on free TV, which is kind of disappointing, but there's no way I see Jeff getting the belt. This is all overreaction here. They're just making another attempt to split these guys up and putting the belt on one of them right away will NOT do it. EDIT: Oh yeah, and I put my money on a Dusty Finish.
Guest Trivia247 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Bunch of Faithless Taker Haters. If Undertaker can Pull off a Superplex off the top turnbuckle then He can Climb a Fricken Ladder.
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Guess where Raw is? Manchester, New Hampshire. Who's got tickets? Me. I feelz so happy. Anyway... I'm looking more forward to RVD's tag match than Hardy/Undertaker... but if somehow Jeff wins, I'll use my boot for that task. Ugh. - Mike Van Siclen. Bang!
Guest Army Eye Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Plus, whether "smarks" want to admit it or not, the Hardyz are top babyfaces.. even if it is just with the female teenager demographic. They still get big pops. Yes they get good pops from the pre-teen girls but those girls won't be buying any PPVs. Jeff Hardy simply would not draw in a PPV main event.
Guest Prince Paul Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Oh my god some of you people are insane, INSANE I say. Jeff Hardy should NEVER, ever even touch the Undisputed title in that match, much less fall off the ladder with it. Jesus Christ, lets just bury the promotion having a "should be undisputed champion" who looks like a little fucking albino weiner. And Taker should be able to slowly climb the ladder. And Jeff is gay.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Plus, whether "smarks" want to admit it or not, the Hardyz are top babyfaces.. even if it is just with the female teenager demographic. Like any father could say no to his daughter hanging off of his arm begging for him to order the PPV. It's not just 13 year olds either.. look at the crowd when the camera zooms around during the hardyz entrance. It's pretty much all the under thirty, non married women. (Probably some married as well.) Jeff Hardy wouldn't draw in a PPV main event? Damn, I know that I would rather watch Triple H Vs. Taker again.. or perhaps Hogan/HHH again? Yeah.. they were all 18 fucking stars. Christ.. I'll take ANYTHING new.
Guest Anglesault Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 ANYTHING new...that doesn't involve Jeff Fucking Hardy
Guest Brian Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I'll take Jeff Hardy if it was Jeff Hardy from OMEGA; or even X-Pac if it was early nineties, pre-concussions, pre Kliq X-Pac.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 And Jeff is gay. What a compelling arguement you deliver! Obviously a valid reason not to give him a title! Forget the fact that he doesn't draw, your facts blow the others away! Seriously, comments like that make me wonder what the average age is at this board sometimes.
Guest Angle-plex Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 And Jeff is gay. And he is silly. [/Zac mode]
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 It would be so easy to just put the title on Angle. What is the F'N problem? He draws, He works a good match with anyone, He has Heat with the Fans, he's Entertaining, Great Mic Work. What the Hell is the Problem?
Guest chirs3 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 He's too busy making HOGAN TAP! TAP! TAP! AAAAHAHAHAHAH!
Guest Austin3164life Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I think that for this ladder match, the WWE should teast victories by both men, but mainly by Jeff Hardy, because the fans (marks and smarks alike) are expecting Undertaker to execute Jeff Hardy. Have the Undertaker really kill Hardy in the beginning, with a lot of stiff power moves. But, have Jeff Hardy keep stopping the Undertaker as soon as Taker thinks he has the win. Then, Undertaker gets very cocky, thinking he has the match in his hands. Jeff Hardy unleashes with his arsenal, getting the Dead Man dizzy and spinning. From the middle to the end of the match, have Jeff Hardy teasing the win at least 3 times, to make the fans shudder. The final straw should be similar to what CallMeDanWhat?! said earlier. Have Jeff Hardy grab the belt, but have Undertaker steal the ladder from under him. Hebner will be screaming at Taker and Taker will knock his lights out. Undertaker swings the ladder at Jeff and hits him, but miraculously Jeff falls with the belt in hand. The crowd goes bananas, but Taker mercilessly kills Hardy with chairshots, and a Last Ride onto the ladder, as he grabs the belt from a lifeless Hardy, and Hebener (finally coming to), would award Undertaker the win. Sure, it sounds far fetched for your normal WWE 20+ run-ins, but I think some kind of new and catchy finish like this will get the fans interested again. Have Undertaker be the champion who does not want to lose because he'll know that he'll have nothing after that. Have a few midcard guys tease a victory from the Dead Man, but have Taker win by cheating (without run-ins). It will get the fans to truly hate Undertaker, and a lot of midcarders to get noticed if Undertaker walks around with the Champion's swagger.......
Guest Brian Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I hate to say it Fear Havoc but Angle's never been actually proven to draw on his own. I mean, we all love the guy but he's never really been a proven draw. No one in the WWE has been except Rock and Cripple H(shudder).
Guest Anglesault Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I think he could draw if they don't make him a honky tonk champion
Guest LesnarLunatic Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 The Undertaker's gonna win after Kevin Nash comes out and holds the belt up so Undertaker can reach it. Okay..... name that WCW angle I just referenced!
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 When I think of a "Good" Heel Champion, I don't think of just them themselves being the Draw. I think of them drawing by having all the "Top Babyfaces" chasing. Which Angle did do a great job of doing back in late 2000, early 2001.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 Also, Triple H didn't draw all on his own in 2000. Rock being on the Chase did ALOT of it.
Guest Brian Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 HHH drew because people thought he could lose the title at any instance. Heck, alot of people went into RAW that I knew thinking that Triple H could wrestle anyone on the card and they'd be a threat to take the title. It wasn't just the Rock, though that was large part. Triple H was the focal point of the card, who people loved to hate, and wnated to see him get his ass handed to. It's one of the reasons attendance and buyrates did better during this period than the Austin period just before. Angle just didn't accomplish that during his reign and further more, wasn't the focal point.
Guest Breetai Posted June 26, 2002 Report Posted June 26, 2002 Scary thought: UT drops the title to Jeff because he doesn't want to be the one to job it to Lesnar at SS.
