Guest Smues Report post Posted November 22, 2008 I gave in to temptation and we bought a turducken for Thanksgiving dinner. Has anybody had one before? Good? Bad? Any cooking tips?
Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 Never had it but you should really try to convince Madden to bring it back.
MFer 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 I had it a year or two ago, pretty good from what I remember. No idea how to cook it though.
The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 You get rid of the 'ucken and that's what the one I had back in '04 tasted like.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 I thought it was pretty bad, though some people say it's an extremely difficult dish to cook and prepare correctly. Those people are prob. full of shit, so whatevah!
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 There's a place in my hometown that does turducken and sells it by the slice at dinner. Very good, though I'm not sure I'd make it a regular or even a thanksgiving thing. It's so heavy that it kind of defeats the need to have anything else on your plate. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 23, 2008 Too much poultry for my liking, although duck tastes great. You know what's better than Turducken? Â That's right: Pig Wrapped Pig Stuffed Pig. Here's the finished product:

Smartly Pretty 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 I'm not sure how all of the meat being inside of each other actually changes the taste. If you take a slice of turkey, doesn't that, uh, taste like, uh turkey? I figured Turducken was just sort of a strange way of having three different meats at Thanksgiving. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 When made properly, you end up with a cross-section of sorts, so you get some of everything.
Guest Smues Report post Posted November 28, 2008 It was quite delicious. I plan to have it again next year.
