Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 I think it was a little from A and a little from B for Cal. So apparently Bradford has torn ligaments in his non-throwing hand and he had them nearly the entire game and will have surgery after the Big XII title game. Obviously it didn't hurt him as he still threw for 307 and 4 TDs and did his super John Elway impression by flipping 20 feet in the air. But, this could still be a big blow for OU against Mizzou and in whatever bowl they go to. It doesn't appear to hurt Bradford (since he did it on the third series of the game), but it severely limits OU's running game. If Bradford can't take a snap under center (which appears to be true since he fumbled both of the ones he took in that game) then he can't hand off out of the I or in the Ace. They have to run that god-awful stretch play that they couldn't do worth a damn Saturday.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 This is a pretty decent article by Brad Edwards: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=roadtobcs/0807 He brings up some good points in the beginning (the voters voting one way one week then suddenly changing it to try and manipulate the BCS the next week), I kind of think that's how it should always be, and I prefer voters who redesign their ballots each week, taking into consideration every matchup. Of course, that's largely hypothetical; we know the voters don't actually follow most of what's going on, making it all a pretty goofy system in the first place. I'd much rather voters use this method, however, than just moving people up when they win and moving people down when they lose. He's wondering if Florida doesn't move up enough after beating 'Bama and if OU and Texas play for the national title. I think it's a pretty ludicrous assumption, Florida will go if they win. I don't see any way they don't. Then he's thinking that Texas would stay ahead of OU and OU may not go to the title game even if they win the Big XII. I don't see that happening either. Dr. Saturday covers this in more detail. It's a definite possibility given the sizable gaps in computer rankings and the computer disrespect for Bama, but I tend to agree with you that it's unlikely, particularly thinking about Ohio State/Michigan in 2006. Broward83 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2008 It was a little bit of both, Slayer. Tech was happy for the chance to go out to a good bowl game and Cal was bemoaning about how badly they got screwed over. As far as Mack's talking..I uh..well, he was sticking up for his team and I respect that. I can see the hatred for it but..yeah, won't say it was sleazy.
