Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 Texas LOST to Texas Tech straight up, they have the same record, this should be a no brainer. Edited with an equally true statement.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 What prediction? You just went against the grain for every game or picked against the powerhouse teams. GENIUS! I picked Oklahoma. I guess they were underdogs. Don't listen to Dama, OU is actually a good team and people respect them. Right. Let's ignore all your other dumb predictions like USC losing to UCLA, Florida losing to Alabama, etc etc.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2008 Boise State in for a rather large fall in bowl quality. From a possible BCS bowl to the We needed to name it something Holidayish Bowl. Welcome to Ouchville.
Psycho Penguin 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Texas Tech and Boise got jobbed the most. Wow, Ball State/Tulsa would be a pretty entertaining game. Is that pretty much official now? I haven't followed any bowl announcements today.

I already made a tongue in cheek comment that my predictions were SO AWESOME. so your point is my predictions sucked? Good call, Einstein. And yeah, picking the #1 team in the country is always a bad idea.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Almost everything is official except the aforementioned three at large bids. The Poinsettia Bowl is holding off on the Boise State announcement with incredibly slim chance that the Fiesta Bowl officials heart's grow three times larger in the next hour and invite Boise over Ohio State. Considering the Big Ten invites have been handed out already just a hunch they've all been told that Ohio State is going to the Fiesta. For the at large bids the primary speculation is N.C. State to the PapaJohns.com, Western Michigan to the Texas Bowl, and Florida Atlantic to the Motor City Bowl. I know you are all better for knowing this. Edit: N.C. State has officially been invited to the PapaJohns.com which puts Western Michigan in the Texas Bowl by default as there obviously won't be two MAC teams in the Motor City Bowl. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Even if VT won the ACC conference, they shouldn't get a BCS spot over more deserving teams.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 I find it amusing that the Poinsettia Bowl is going to end up with the best match-up according to the BCS rankings among the non-BCS bowls and both teams are ranked higher than the teams that will play in the Orange Bowl. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Even if the Broncos don't get a chance to play Texas and beat another Big XII team on the big stage, a matchup against TCU is still pretty darn good, I think.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 What a load I think it's crap that they stick more non-BCS bowl games after the 1st. I liked it before when once you hit 4PM on NYD, it was nothing but BCS bowls from that point on, and now they're sticking more toilet bowls in there also, the Fiesta Bowl will become a battle of "Who do I want to lose worse?" Psycho Penguin 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 If Texas blows Ohio State out, will there be a split national champion? That becomes the big question now. (That and "How much will Texas fans politic after the Fiesta Bowl if they win big?)

Bored 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 BREAKING NEWS ON BOWL GAMES YOU DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT -It seemed to be a forgone conclusion that Louisiana-Lafayette would be invited to the Independence Bowl to set up an all-Louisiana match-up but there is a report that Northern Illinois has been invited instead. -Also being reported that Florida Atlantic will indeed be invited to the Motor City Bowl. Psycho Penguin 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 I hope Ohio State beats a deflated Texas. Texas has no reason to be deflated. I like how 7 teams can have a claim for the national title this year potentially. - OU/Florida winner - USC/PSU winner - Texas Tech, if they win and Florida wins - Texas, if they win - Alabama if they and OU win - Utah if they win - Boise State if they win Glad we got this BCS around to prevent split champions! Bored 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 There's not going to be a split champion, it's not even a remote possibility. If Texas was ahead of Oklahoma in the AP poll then there would be a chance but they aren't and it doesn't matter what they do against Ohio State. The winner of the MNC game will be the unanimous MNC. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Pretty sure they were hoping for the national title game. I predict a Cal-type Holiday Bowl letdown game, especially if they overlook Ohio State.

Yes it is a "remote" possibility. Is it likely? No. I can see USC or Alabama getting a shot at it if the title game sucks and Texas loses to Ohio State. Psycho Penguin 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Alabama would probably need Florida to lose to Oklahoma in a crappy game for that to even stand a chance, I would think.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2008 OMG Independence Bowl CONTROVERSY~! http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/1070 All praise due to NIU senior associate athletic director Glen Krupica. His 11-year stint as the Independence Bowl's executive director paid big dividends as the Huskies moved past other 6-6 teams (such as Louisiana-Lafayette and Arkansas State) to snag an at-large berth against Louisiana Tech. While true, there are two undefeated teams in the former Division I-A. Neither of those teams have a shot at the National Championship despite doing what OU and Florida couldn't do: win all their games. I know OU and UF have tougher conferences and all, but if Utah and Boise State both win, then it's "Congratulations, we might consider you among the best ten teams in the NCAA for finishing undefeated.
