Guest Marneywasmurdered Report post Posted February 18, 2009 I'm a huge fantasy fan and I've read many of the more popular series. Lord Of The Rings is probably my favourite, mostly based on it being the first great series I've read. If there's anything that competes with it then it's The Malazan Book Of The Fallen It's a tremendous series. Incredibly detailed world building, plot twists that aren't painfully obvious, detailed and compelling battle scenes, a good sense of humor, and a gritty realism. Jingus 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Do Terry Pratchett's Discworld books count as fantasy, or parody/humor? Either way, if you haven't read any, go fix that.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Do Terry Pratchett's Discworld books count as fantasy, or parody/humor? Either way, if you haven't read any, go fix that. They count as both, but I recommend them to anyone who likes satire/dark humor and fantasy.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2009 I recently read The Host by Stephanie Meyer, and thought it was a very good book. I'd recomend that to anybody. Also Doppleganger and Warrior and Witch by Marie Brennan. Excellent books.
