Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 28, 2002 I just don't like it. I like the visual effect of seeing a move and saying "Oh, that's it!" Man, that's all you had to say. You'd hate puro. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted June 28, 2002 But those are the most drastic finishers of only three guys, and the only people in the world they can do them to without killing them are each other. They have a bunch of other lesser, maybe/maybe-not sub-finishers that could end the match at any time.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted June 28, 2002 Wow a week ago I mentioned on this board that they should bring John Cena in and some one disagreed with me. I saw John Cena at a small indy in Phoenix and he posed for me before going into the ring. He is a really cool guy. How many guys do that for you? P.S. I am wasted right now so if I am not really making any sense or I make a lot of mistakes, i apologiuze

He'd hate the fact that some matches end with a running elbow after all the head dropping, wouldn't understand a majority of the psychology and he'd say that all of their "finishers" are worthless if they never pin anyone important. Guest Goodear Report post Posted June 28, 2002 As far as roll ups are concerned, there are roll ups that I buy and then there are school boys. I hate me those school boy roll ups. But on the other hand there are rollups that do bring the "it should be over" vibe. I'm especially fond of the roll up with bridge that Bob backlund used to always bust out while he was still a face. The counter to the sunset flip that Bulldog pulled off on Bret Hart at Summerslam is another. But they really shouldn't be, you know, patented finishers. Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted June 28, 2002 John Cena will be weewee champ in about a year or 2, guaranteed!!!! From all the developmental guys he's the one that has is all to be successful in wrestling.
Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted June 28, 2002 I'd have to agree with AS. If Cena won, and used a rollup, being the rookie and all, that would have worked, although I'd be pissed. But Angle won, and should have used that move to finish it. The Angle Slam or ankle lock should have finished it. I watched with a bunch of marks, and all they could say was how much better Cena was already, than Angle. That's what the smarks are thinking now.
Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted June 28, 2002 Remember when Ricky Steamboat beat Macho Man with a rollup? What a terrible ending that was.... /sarcasm
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted June 28, 2002 If we have an Angle/Typrewriter feud, this board will feel the full wrath of Anglesault Wouldn't that take time away from your social life? Oh, nevermind.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted June 28, 2002 It's crazy..but I actually prefer simple finishes. Not every match should end with an Angle Slam, or a Pedigree, or a Last Ride. If you see them that often, they don't seem that special. Kurt Angle looked stronger last night then he had in MONTHS. He beat Cena with one move. How good is that? It wasn't a 'fluke'. He had him pinned to the mat, and he wasn't going anywhere. The 'taker made fun of him later, but Angle came out of it looking the stronger of the two. I'm glad he got rid of the stupid wig, and finally looks to be a convincing (soon to be?) championship contender. Smart booking from the WWF, for once. Cena comes off looking good, Angle comes off looking great. Not everybody has to be Steve "I never look weak" Austin. I hope Angle does get a serious push, even with all of AS' bitching and whining. He deserves it. Besides. It gives RVD somebody to chase. -Shiro
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Report post Posted June 28, 2002 Haha...CHUD, that was so damn funny to me for some reason. I don't even know why, but thanks for making my day. That was a great match to start off a great Smackdown last night. Hopefully the WWF can keep it up.
