Wrestling Roster Draft Expansion

Okay, so if Mellow allowed 4 more people into the draft, and brought the rounds down from 40 to 35, the number of wrestlers picked would remain around the same and the draft would take around the same length to complete. With a roster of 35 wrestlers, the card you book will be gigantic. It would be 17 singles matches plus a Kelly Kelly to come out to the ring and strip. There are 4 new people who wanted to be a part of the draft who got cut out. IMHO, even 35 talents booked on one card is too many... Never mind 40.

 

Should HTQ, J-Hawk, Mellow and myself be allowed into the draft?

I wouldn't be pushing for this so hard if I got a real reason besides "Where do we draw the line!?" As to why the draft has to stay with 20 people and 40 rounds. Like I said, that I know of there's only the 4 of us that couldn't get in... I could see if there were 15 more people who wanted to play.

It wouldn't be fair for us to let you in and then get screwed out of our 2nd round picks. We signed up in time, you didn't. Though like I said in the other thread, I thought this 2nd draft should only be for people who missed out on the first one. But it has already started, so that can't be changed.

Well, this draft was bourne out of a handful of people clamoring for a reboot. Nobody new approached me until I decided to run it.

I was actually going to say "We should do another one". But I didn't, then I came back the next day and another one was starting and it was full. "We signed up in time, you didn't" makes it sound like I did something wrong, when all I did was not go on the internet in time. Not like you did something great to qualify yourself for it.

 

Not fair that you don't get your second pick is pretty selfish, you bastard. Doesn't make any sense to me either. That's the whole fun of a draft. Why not just make a draft with one person then you can have all your picks?

 

I've accepted that I'm not going to get in at this point, and now it looks like majority has spoken. I just can't understand why and maybe I never will.

 

I mean, if I was in the draft and someone wanted in, I'd say Come on, big fellow!

I think what foleyfan is trying to say is that adding someone into the 21-24 spots actually makes it EASIER for them to draft than it does for the people at the top or in the middle. Number 24 would also get to pick at 25 and basically gets his first two choices the minute he walks into the draft since we're already approaching the end of the first round.

 

Someone who is picking at 18 or 19 in a 20 person draft might be going for 2 specific guys out of a pool of 3-6 workers since they're guaranteed to get them. Adding in 4 more people to the draft means an extra 8 selections and totally screws them if they were looking to draft a team or two specific guys to work against each other when it wasn't clear that that was a possibility when they first started planning. I don't think it really has much of an impact on #'s 1-maybe 8 since they're pretty much getting a person they definitely wanted, but it really cripples say 9-16 who have to pick someone that wasn't necessarily their first choice and they don't have a guarantee of getting someone they want on the way back up either.

Sorry, man. It's a draft. You gotta be selfish. 20 people is a lot to begin with. 25 would make the wait between picks feel even more eternal.
