Guest HBK WILL ROT IN HELL Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I had decided to try and figure out the top 50 matches I had seen after thinking about it after reading FEAR HAVOCS (i think) on this board. So i thought of something that was more of a challenge. You name the Top ten matches from 1998-2002 but you can only have a wrestlers name once. I came up with this the other night pretty quickly it isn't perfect. I would like to see what all you people come up with aswell thanks. In no particular order 1. WWF Title HHH Vs Cactus Jack Royal Rumble 2000 2. WWF Title Rock Vs Austin Wrestlemania 17 3. IC Title Benoit Vs Jericho (Ladder match) Royal Rumble 2001 4. IC Title Eddy Guerreo VS RVD ( Ladder match) RAW 2002 5. Dean Malenko Vs Scotty 2 Hotty Baclash 2000 6. Shamrock Vs Owen Hart Summerslam 1998 7. X Pac Vs Kane Armageddon 1999 ( Cage match) just for a bit of variation. 8. TLC 2 9. Shawn Michaels Vs Undertaker (casket match) Royla Rumble 1998 10. Light Heavy title Taka Vs Aguila Wrestlemania 14 ( toss up out of alot of matches. I would like to see peoples opinion and see which matches i forgot. Thanks. Its not that easy.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 Doesit HAVE to be WWE, or can it also include WCW and ECW? If so, expect to see maybe 3 WWE matches...heh...

Guest FeArHaVoC Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 Just for the REcord. It wasn't my list. I got it off Lordsofpain.com. Anyway, I don't feel like making a list, but no one even said Angle Vs Benoit from WM or the Cage Match.
Guest Brian Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I'm surprised nobody mentioned Dude Love vs. Austin, which is the best match from that period from the WWE, or Bret Hart vs. Chris Benoit which was the best match from that period. Spring Stampede 1999 produced a bunch of good matches.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 No one here is mentioning that I Quit match at Rumble 99 where Rocky made Mick take a gazillion sick bumps. Although if I remember right I was even more disgusted by the match with HHH a year later.
Guest HBK WILL ROT IN HELL Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 I meant WWF seeing its that folder.
Guest HBK WILL ROT IN HELL Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 Brian make a list yourself. I was going to put Dude Love Vs Austin OTE but i couldn't make room for it you try and make a list youll see it aint that easy.
Guest Austin3164life Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 1. Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle (Summerslam 2001) 2. The Rock vs. Chris Jericho (No Mercy 2001) 3. Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (Royal Rumble 2000) 4. Steve Austin vs. The Rock (Wrestlemania 17) 5. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit (Royal Rumble 2001) 6. Triple H vs. Steve Austin (No Way Out 2001) 7. Steve Austin vs. Dude Love (Over the Edge 1998) 8. Mankind vs. The Rock (Royal Rumble 1999) 9. Steve Austin vs. The Rock (November 22 1998 Raw) 10. Triple H vs. The Rock (Summerslam 1998)
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted June 27, 2002 Report Posted June 27, 2002 Hmm, in my ill state I can't really think of ten matches without using someone twice.
Guest Nezbyte Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 1. Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle (Summerslam 2001) 2. The Rock vs. Chris Jericho (No Mercy 2001) 3. Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (Royal Rumble 2000) 4. Steve Austin vs. The Rock (Wrestlemania 17) 5. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit (Royal Rumble 2001) 6. Triple H vs. Steve Austin (No Way Out 2001) 7. Steve Austin vs. Dude Love (Over the Edge 1998) 8. Mankind vs. The Rock (Royal Rumble 1999) 9. Steve Austin vs. The Rock (November 22 1998 Raw) 10. Triple H vs. The Rock (Summerslam 1998) Read the post. You cant use one person more than once. I cant decide, damnit.
Guest HBK WILL ROT IN HELL Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 yeah Nezbyte thats exactly why i thought it up its quite a challenge. It also shows the WWF really had relied only a handful of people to put on great matches over this time period.
Guest CanadianChris Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 From the list at the top... Out: Triple H vs. Cactus Jack In: Steve Austin vs. Dude Love (Over The Edge 1998) Out: Steve Austin vs. The Rock In: The Rock vs. Triple H (Summerslam 98, ladder match) Out: Dean Malenko vs. Eddie Guerrero In: Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean malenko vs. Perry Saturn (Judgement Day 2000) Out: Kane vs. X-Pac In: Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon (King of the Ring 2001, street fight)
Guest Brian Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 Dude Love vs. Steve Austin, OTE 1998 Last **** match the WWE probduced Rock vs. Chris Jericho, Vengeance 2001 The better match despite the finish. My 2001 runner up for MOTY in the end under Austin/Rock. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit, WM X-7 Built off great mat wrestling, great carrying on Benoit's part, really shows how much Angle has improved Tajiri vs. Kidman, BackLash 2002 Good match from these two, much better than expected. Eddie Guerrero vs. RVD, RAW ladder match MOTY for the WWF so far this year Raven vs. Rhyno, BackLash 2001 Innovative, good hardcore match TLC 2 Best of TLC matches, strongest psychology and good spots. Dean Malenko vs. Scotty Too Hotty, BackLash 2001 (? on date) D-Lo Brown vs. Val Venis A much overlooked match on a show with huge build-up for Austin/Undertaker and the Rock/HHH ladder match. Still, this had a really solid story to it and good wrestling. Lo Ki vs. Jerry Lynn, Jakked My first sighting of Ki. Awesoe little match.

Guest HBK WILL ROT IN HELL Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 brian Maleno Vs Scotty was Backlash 2000. Canadian Chris yeah id definetly swap Kane Vs Xpac for Kurt Angle Vs Shane I totally forgot that match when i was thinking of how to get Angle in their. Im not so sure on the others but their "Out: Dean Malenko vs. Eddie Guerrero In: Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean malenko vs. Perry Saturn (Judgement Day 2000)" I can't agree there . I didn't like that match as much as Malenko Vs Scotty also by doing that you would have to get rid of the Eddy Vs RVD ladder match form the list aswell. Its about priority. The other two i could go either way.
Guest TheHulkster Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 Steve Austin Vs The Undertaker (SS 98) Dean Malenko Vs Scotty 2 Hotty (Backlash 2k) Kurt Angle Vs RVD (Raw September 2001) The Rock Vs Hulk Hogan (Wrestlemania 18) TLC (SS 2K) Chris Benoit Vs Chris Jericho (RR2K1) HHH Vs Taka (Smackdown 2000) Kane Vs Raven Vs Big Show (WM 17) Test Vs Shane McMahon (SS 99) Trish Vs Stephanie (NWO 2K1) In no particular order.

Guest griffinmills Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 Look at Brian's post. That is how you do a top ten list. You put up ten matches and you back that shit up with some reasons. Just saying is all. ;-)
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 "Did Val Vs Rikishi get in their because of that splash by Rikishi off the top of the cage" Hell, Rikishi deserves a medal for that one, as does Val for taking it.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 I actually liked the rest of the match too, with the exception of Tazz. Once you take out the usual guys (Austin, Benoit, Angle, etc.) it becomes difficult. I did like it better than Rhyno/Raven, or Guerrero/Rios or Jarrett/Chyna or any other match that I could think of.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 Look at Brian's post. That is how you do a top ten list. You put up ten matches and you back that shit up with some reasons. Just saying is all. ;-) 1. The Rock vs. Steve Austin (Wrestlemania X-7) My favourite match from this period, hence it has to be here. ***** and a long awaited moment when Austin finally turned heel again after 4 years of waiting. 2. Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (No Way Out 2000) I liked this better than the Rumble largely because of the storyline involving Foley's retirement had me hooked. I was far more involved with this match than I was with the Street Fight. 3. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit (Insurrextion 2001) Both men's second best WWF match. Both had their best match with Steve Austin in 2001. 4. Triangle Ladder Match (Wrestlemania 2000) My favourite of the series, and definitely my favourite when you can't use TLC 3 because Benoit is already on the list. 5. Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Dean Malenko (Backlash 2000) Best WWF Cruserweight match ever. 6. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker (Royal Rumble 1998) Not my favourite Michaels/Taker match, but the others are from 1997. Michaels was a shell of his former shelf by this point, but that was still better than almost everybody else in the promotion at the time. 7. Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam (Unforgiven 2001) RVD's best match ever, IMO. His RAW match with Eddy had far too many problems for me to ignore. 8. Owen Hart vs. Ken Shamrock (Summerslam 1998) Shamrock's best match ever, and forgotten because of the HHH/Rock Ladder Match later. 9. Val Venis vs. Rikishi (Fully Loaded 2000) Underrated. Everybody remembers the big bump, but forgets that this is the best old school style cage match in years (not involving Angle). 10. Rhyno vs. Raven (Backlash 2001) Rhyno shows why he was the best Hardcore Champion ever.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 I'll give my PBP for each okay? BTW this is in no paticular order 1. Rock v. Austin Fink announces the match as no-DQ. JR is aghast. Austin attacks and slugs away. Rock comes back but walks into a Thesz Press and FU Elbow. Another FU Elbow but Rock gets a swinging neckbreaker. Austin blocks Rock Bottom, Rock blocks Stunner, Austin blocks Stunner an dumps Rock. They brawl on the outside and into the crowd and onto the announce table. Austin clotheslines him and rakes his eyes with a kneebrace. Back in- Austin stomps away and chokes Rock on ropes and drops a knee on him for two. Austin gets superplex for two. Austin exposes the turnbuckle. Rock fights back and gets a lariat and a throw for two. Rock clotheslines him out. They brawl on the outside more. Austin levels Rock with the ring bell. Austin levels him as Rock does a bladejob. He rams him into announce table. Austin continues to kick his ass back in. Rock fights back but Austin gets a neckbreaker for two. Austin punches him some more. Austin stomps a mudhole and walks it dry. Rock explodes out of the corner with a lariat and kicks his ass. Rock levels him with ring bell for two. Austin blades. Rock hammers away and continues to kick his ass. Austin fights back and slingshots him right into the ringpost. Rock goes SMACK! That was sick. They brawl by the announcers and Rock gets pasted with a monitor. Back in- it gets two. Rock blocks the kick part of kick wham stunner and gets a sharpshooter. “Shades of Bret Hart and Austin of Wrestlemania part’. A bloodied Austin is screaming while bleeding profusely trying to reach the ropes. Austin barely makes the ropes. Austin blocks another Sharpshooter by going to the eyes and gets his own Sharpshooter. Rock makes ropes pissing off Austin who goes to work on him. Austin gets Sharpshooter again- Rock makes ropes. It takes Austin awhile to break. Austin gets the Million Dollar Dream!! Arm drops twice, not thrice. Rock walks the ropes and flips back like from Survivor Series 1996. Austin now knows the counter and releases the hold. Austin continues to hammer away. Rock gets stunner out of nowhere. He’s slow to cover and only gets two. Vinnie Mac comes out. Rock hammers away but walks into a spinebuster for two. Rock gets a spinebuster and hits the People’s Elbow but Vince pulls Rock off at two. Rock calls Vince some R-rated words and chases him and walks right into a Rock Bottom from Austin!… for two. Vince is shocked. Rock blocks stunner and shoves Austin into the ref. Austin gets a lowblow and tells Vince to give him a chair and he levels Rock with it. Vince throws the ref in and it gets two. Austin goes for another chairshot but Rock scores with the Rock Bottom. Vince distracts the ref and gets tossed in. He beats on Vince and walks into KICK WHAM STUNNER…for two. Austin is mega-pissed. Vince gives him a chair and he smacks him in the head for two. Austin is really, really, really pissed now and hits Rock SIXTEEN TIMES with the chair for the win and his fifth WWF Title. Match was absolutely fantastic and just because of the whole epic feel it had- I’ll ignore the one or two mistakes and give it *****. Austin and Vince shake hands and sheer a beer and level Rock with the title belt. 2.Bret v. Flair Bret gives glasses to a fan. Lockup- Bret gets a headlock and works him over. Flair comes back but Bret gets a drop-toe hold and figure four- Flair makes ropes. Suplex by Bret-2 and he chinlocks and he headlocks. They fight over a wristlock- Bret wins. Flair makes ropes. Bret smacks him in the face. Flair bails. Back in- Bret continues to kick his ass. Headlock by Bret. Flair thumbs his eye. Flair hammers away but Bret gets a sleeper. Flair turns it into a headlock and suplexes out. Flair’s trick knee acts up and a knee to the face-2. Chinlock but at least Flair uses the ropes. He murders Bret with a chop and stomps away. More chops but Bret hammers away. Swinging neckbreaker by Bret. Bulldog-2. Bret works him over. Bret tries ringpost figure four but gets sent into the rail. Back in- Flair gets a near fall and works on the knee. Bret gets an enziguri. Flair tries for the figure four but Bret cradles him for two. Backslide-2. Flair clips him and locks in the figure four. Bret reverses- Flair breaks. Flair goes up top but gets slammed down. Bret gets whipped face first into corner but he gets the Russian leg sweep. Flair chops the hell out of him. STRAPS COME DOWN!!!!!! Flair chops him- and it just pisses off Bret. Bret hammers away but gets atomic dropped. Bret just headbutss him. Backbreaker-one. Second rope elbow-two. Superplex. Sharpshooter and Flair quits. Awesome, awesome match. **** 3.Triple H v. Cactus Cactus Jack tries to psyche out HHH. They have a punch brawl and HHH takes control but Cactus comes back with some punches. Cactus runs out and beats on HHH. Cactus legdrops HHH and they go outside. Cactus runs into the steel steps and HHH rams Cactus’ head into the ring bell. HHH grabs a chair and tells Cactus to come in. He does and HHH hits him with an AWESOME CHAIRSHOT!! HHH takes off the ring protection but Cactus comes back, beats on him, and puts a chair on his head and legdrops onto the chair. Cactus punches him and kicks him. HHH gets backdropped onto the concrete floor. They brawl into the crowd and Cactus beats on him some more. HHH goes into a stack of bricks. HHH gets suplexed on wooden pallets. Ouch! He takes a garbage can to the skull, and he gets rammed into a metal doorway. HHH comes back and suplexes Cactus into the trash can. Cactus comes back and punches him. It’s barbwire time! HHH punches him and gets the barbwire and nails Cactus with it. Get up, HHH says and Cactus punches him and low blows him with barbwire. OUCH! Earl Hebner takes the wire and puts it behind Hugo Sadinovich. Cactus gets two, and wants the barbwire and punches Hugo. Carlos Colon gives him the barbwire but it is obviously a different one and looks more fake. Who cares? HHH runs into the ref and Cactus nails him with barbwire. He nails him with it again and HHH blades. This match kicks total ass. Cactus gets two and nails him again. They brawl outside and HHH falls on the announce table. HHH breaks up a piledriver and backdrops Cactus. Announce table is dead. HHH beats on him some more. Cactus blocks the Pedigree and rams HHH into barbed wire for two. Cactus clothesline but HHH hip-tosses Cactus into steel steps. Back into the ring. HHH chop blocks him and nails his leg with barb wire. Handcuff time! Cactus tries to block it but he gets handcuffed anyway. Here comes a Royal Rumble 99 flashback. HHH beats on him. HHH gets steel steps but Cactus blocks it with a drop toehold. Cactus bites him but HHH clotheslines him and nails him with a chair. Cactus starts walking away and HHH nails him with a chair. They have a war of words. Here comes The Rock out of nowhere. The Rock nails HHH with a chair. A cop shows up and unhandcuffs Cactus. They go to the Spanish announce table. Cactus PILEDRIVES him and the table doesn’t break. HOLY SHIT! Tack time! Stephanie comes out to stop this. HHH flips him onto the tacks. Ouch! Pedigree gets two. Crowd chants Foley. SMBL and HHH looks freaked out. HHH then pedigrees him on the tacks. Game over. ***** 4.DDP v. Jarrett v. Arquette Arquette is dressed like Elvis in a nod to 3K to Graceland. Arquette runs away. Jarrett goes after him but DDP attacks Double J. Jarrett stomps away and gets a DDT. Jarrett chases Arquette but walks into a clothesline from DDP. Another clothesline from DDP and he hits a Rock Bottom. Arquette goes for a top-rope splash but misses. DDP throws Jarrett into the cage twice. DDP gets a ladder but Jarrett baseball slides it into him. Page whips Jarrett into Arquette. Back in- DDP kicks his ass. He tries to crotch Jarrett on the post but Jarrett rams his head in. Jarrett nails Arquette but DDP attacks him and crotches him on the post. DDP sets up the ladder and nails Jarrett who goes flying into the cage and blades. DDP hammers away and rams him into the cage. DDP tries to climb to go into cage two but Jarrett suplexes him off the ladder. Jarrett tries to climb but gets powerbombed off. DDP whips him into the ladder twice. He goes for it again but Jarrett reverses and whips him into the ladder. Jarrett drops the ladder onto him and goes and gets another ladder and drops that on DDP. Jarrett climbs but DDP pushes him off. They both climb the ladder. DDp holds onto the cage and kicks the ladder and Jarrett falls onto the ramp. Jarrett is busted open pretty good. DDP climbs the ladder and is now into cage two. DDP uses cutters to open the door but Jarrett attacks him and sends him into a trashcan. Cage #2 is Hardcore Hell with tons of weapons. The cage is really loose and wobbly and it gives me HIAC 2 flashbacks. Jarret chairs him and goes for cage three but DDP stops him. Jarrett nails him with glass. DDP nails him with a chair and both go flying into the wall which falls. DDP sets up a table on wobbly cage two and slams Jarrett through it. DDP blades as well. Jarrett tries to go to cage three but DDP stops him with a chair. DDP and Jarrett brawl- DDP gets sent to the cage. They do an Irish whip sequence as everyone is scared they may fall off. David Arquette climbs to cage three as Mike Awesome runs in and beats up DDP. How did Awesome run in? DDP gives Awesome a Diamond Cutter. DDP and Jarrett climb to cage three as Arquette just stands there. Jarrett almost falls as they fight into the guitar room. Yes- there’s a guitar room. They both hit each other with guitars and DDP throws one at Arquette. They all climb to cage three and Arquette turns heel and whacks DDP with a guitar. Jarrett whacks him as well and Double J Gets the belt. Tony calls it “The Ultimate Swerve”. ****1/4 5.TLC 6-way brawl to start. Matt throws a chair right in Bubba’s face. Jeff runs into the chair. E and C beat on D-Von. Edge gets a chair and does a drop-toehold to D-Von so D-Von head hits the chair. Ouch! Pier-4 brawl, Edge brings a ladder. He puts Bubba in front of the ladder and runs towards it Bubba moves. Bubba DDT’s Christian. Bubba climbs but the Hardyz double-powerbomb him off. Jeff Hardy climbs as D-Von brings in another ladder. Christian sneaks behind them and double Russian-legsweeps them off. Ouch! Christian starts to climb, but Bubba gives him the Bubba-bomb off the ladder. Awesome! The ladders even tip over. Edge hammers Matt. Jeff climbs and gets thrown off to wear he hits the ladder-face first and the ladder flings up and nails Matt in the face. HOLY SHIT! Jeff blocks Conchairto, Bubba throws a ladder into his face. Christian takes the Wazzup Drop from the ladder. D-VON-GET THE TABLES. Bubba drops ladder on Jeff’s face. Christian gets 3-Ded through a table. Dudz stack two tables on top of another. Edge comes back and whallops the Dudz with a chair. Edge takes the Twist of Fate from Matt. Matt jumps off the ladder onto Edge, while Jeff LEAPFROGS OVER THE LADDER! HOLY SHIT!! Jeff Hardy is insane. Edge gets sandwhiched in between the ladder. Christian is about to jump off the top rope and stop this but he GETS THROWN ONTO THE LADDER! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! On the outside Jeff sets up a huge ladder with Bubba lying on the table. This is a huge ladder. He attempts the Swanton and Bubba moves. HOLY SHIT! Jeff is dead, kicking the bucket, 6 ft. under. “I pray for these 6 men-JR” Matt starts to climb as Edge nails Bubba. D-Von and Matt start to climb as do E and C. Christian gives Matt the Unprettier, Edge chucks D-Von off the ladder. Bubba isn’t dead so he tries to climb but E and C push him off and he goes FLYING THROUGH FOUR TABLES. HOLY HOLY HOLY SHIT! OH MY HOLY GOD! It’s just them so they start to climb. But here’s LITA! Crowd goes apeshit. She pushes E and C off crotching them. Lita screeches for Matt to climb. “You’re at home, son. Go up that ladder.”-JR. King even roots for him. Matt starts to climb, but D-Von pushes him off and he flies straight out of the ring into a table. I’m running out of HOLY SHIT’S. Matt is DEAD. Lita goes to check on him, and Edge decides to spear her and her head rams into the mat. Go Lita! Jeff and D-Von are left and they start to climb. They both get hold of one belt and the ladder moves leaving them hanging in the air! Wicked. D-Von falls and the crowd is going crazy as Jeff is hanging there. Jeff gets nailed with a ladder and falls. E and C climb and win. ***** 6.Dean Malenko v. Scotty II Hotty Scotty attacks to start and kicks his ass. Clothesline gets two. Scotty blocks a piledriver with an armdrag for 2. Backdrop suplex by Scotty and he moonwalks so Dean kicks his ass. Never turn your back on the man of 1,000 holds. Scotty comes back with punches. Bulldog blocked with a clothesline. Dean rams Scotty into turnbuckle. Brawl on the outside. Scotty comes back with punches Dean does a dropkick to the knee and starts to work on the knee for 2 counts. Psychology! He rams the knee into the post and rolls back in the ring to break the count. Dean is the man. King and JR make Clinton Jokes. Dean is still working on the knee, he ducks enziguri by Scotty. Scotty comes back but gets whipped hard into the corner. More knee working. I like the story of the match- Dean knows Scotty is much quicker and faster then him so he deliberately works on the knee to slow the pace to his liking. You don’t see that anymore. Scotty gets 2 on a rollup so Dean kicks his ass. King disses Luxembourg and praises Liechtenstein. A fan who chants boring gets shot. They go outside and Scotty again tries to comeback. Dean says ‘Fuck this!’ and superplexes him. Scotty comes back with a backslide for 2. Dean says ‘Okay, it’s over’! and goes for the Cloverleaf but Scotty counters with a small package for 2. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Suplex by Dean and then he learns YOU CANT POWERBOMB SCOTTY! Bulldog by Scotty and W-O-R-M. Dean rolls him up but gets caught having his feet on the ropes. You apparently can now powerbomb Scotty as it gets 2 for Dean. Blind charge misses, powerslam doesn’t for 2. Scotty gets hung on the top and Dean goes up and Scotty gets him ready for a superplex. He superlexes him. HOLY HOLY HOLY HOLY SHIT!!!! In mid-air Dean reserves to a DDT and Scotty lands right on his head. Dean is God! ****1/2 7.Kane v. Kurt Angle from SD! (no review) 8.Benoit v. Jericho (RR) Slugfest- Y2J takes control. Benoit goes for crossface, Y2J rolls through into the Walls but Benoit blocks. Benoit blocks baseball slide and throws Jericho into ring steps. Benoit climbs but Jericho puts him on top of his shoulder and falls backward. Jericho works him over and rams the ladder into Benoit. Jericho rams the ladder into his stomach. Jericho stomps away but gets catapulted into the ladder and flies out. Jericho blocks a tope by Benoit by smacking the hell out of him right on the head with a steel chair. OH MY GOD! Jericho drops him on the rail and tries to tip the ladder onto him but Benoit moves. Jericho gets hit with a ladder and a chair. Back in- Benoit lays in the violence. Jericho reintroduces him to the ladder and puts one of Benoit’s legs on the ladder and then climbs and pushes it so it falls right on Benoit. Ouch! Benoit dropkicks the ladder into Jericho’s face. Benoit works him over but gets whipped face first into the ladder. Jericho catapults the ladder into Benoit’s face. Jericho missile dropkicks the ladder into Benoit. Jericho climbs but Benoit stops him with stiff kidney shots and suplexes him out of the ring. Benoit climbs but Jericho saves so Benoit calmly kicks him in the face. Jericho tries again and gets the Octopus on top of the ladder. Awesome visual. He then pushes him and goes for the belt. Benoit kicks the ladder out from under him and Jericho falls. Jericho gets another ladder shot in and climbs. He jumps off at Benoit who is able to grab him and hook the Crippler Crossface. Benoit rams him into the post but Jericho catapults him into the ladder. Jericho sets the ladder up in the corner to go after Benoit. Benoit pushes him off and goes for the diving headbutt off the top of the ladder but he misses. HOLY SHIT! Jericho climbs but Benoit pushes the ladder and Jericho goes flying out. Jericho has a chair and chairs away. He pushes the ladder and Benoit goes flying out of the ring. Jericho climbs and wins the belt. Absolutely incredible. I miss Benoit. ****1/2 9.Juvy/Calo/Chavo/Lizmark v. LaParka/El Dandy/Psicosis/Silver King This match is pretty hard to keep up with as everyone does crazy stuff. LaParka and Juvy do an awesome segment and everything is pretty awesome. Silver King does an awesome spinning powerbomb. Juvy does a 450 Splash but LaParka saves and kills him with powerbomb. Calo and Dandy kill themselves on the outside. Juvy does Air Juvy. Corkscrew moonsault by LaParka. We end up with Chavo and Psycosis. Chavo does a tornado DDT for the win. LaParka takes out everyone. Message to Vince: put awesome stuff like this on Smackdown! ****1/2 10.Eddy v. RVD (no review- ladder match)
Guest CanadianChris Posted June 28, 2002 Report Posted June 28, 2002 brian Maleno Vs Scotty was Backlash 2000. You are absolutely correct...I was going over the list from memory when I was posting, and I misremembered the Malenko match. The other two are just personal preference. And actually, I'd replace the Rock/HHH ladder match with the Rock/HHH Ironman match.
Guest HBK WILL ROT IN HELL Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Dude who said you should put reasons. I didn't have the time for that and anyway most are pretty self explainatory as to why there good.
