Guest areacode212 Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I think it's awesome that you have NewsRadio dreams. It's like having your own personal Season 6. I never have any cool dreams like that. It's possible that Lisa & Beth have appeared in my dreams, though. So how long has everyone been watching NR? Since the NBC days, since it started in syndication, or what? I saw the pilot episode when it was first broadcast. But when I moved back to NY before Season 1 started, I couldn't really watch it anymore because I didn't have cable and my Channel 4 reception SUCKED ASS. So it wasn't until the awesome twice-a-night UPN syndication that I was able to catch up. Man, UPN 9 had a great late-night line-up in 2000. Blind Date, Star Trek: Voyager (season 4, the only REALLY good season), and a double-shot of NewsRadio. EDIT: YEAH, PAGE 8!!!

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I watched it on upn as well- my one complaint was that they showed the same ones
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 1, 2002 The first episde I remember seeing was "Daydream", but it wouldn't surprise me if I started TRYING (damned NBC) to watch it earlier, as I was a big KitH/SNL fan. And I had another NewsRadio dream last night, but it was sad, but still crazy. Mr. James really had a wayback machine and was trying to save Bill.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 1, 2002 You dreamed about the wayback machine? AWESOME!~
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 1, 2002 Stand back! A memory has been triggered by Lisa's Wedding... I remember the commercial for that episode...Beth singing "White Wedding"....and that's it...
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I watched it on upn as well- my one complaint was that they showed the same ones So how are you enjoying Canadian TV so far? They have different game shows & talk shows & stuff up there. Those shows have a nice, homey quality that I kinda miss.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I actually haven't watched much. I do like MUCH though.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted September 2, 2002 I watched when it was on NBC. I *think* I watched since Season 1, but it's been too long to remember. And they just played the episodes where Johnny proposes to Lisa & they get married, and one thing was bothering me. When Lisa accepts, the studio audience was clapping. WTF? Unless it was canned laughter (which I don't think it was), why would they cheer that? Johnny was evil, tried to take over Jimmy's empire, and stole Dave's girl. Why would they approve of that? That bugged me.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 2, 2002 I was like: WTF??? when Lisa and Puddy got married. It was just so wrong
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 2, 2002 NewsRadio never had a live studio audience. It was always canned heat...oh, lord. I guess NBC didn't think people would laugh at what they wanted them to.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 3, 2002 Really?? I didn't know that
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted September 3, 2002 Supposedly, NR DID have a studio audience: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&....com%26rnum%3D1
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 3, 2002 Bill Moves On was probably filmed not in front of a studio audience
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 3, 2002 I just assumed, as: A) It always sounded fake and the same. B) I never heard Dave or someone say "NewsRadio was filmed before a live studio audience." Oh, Areacode, that link doesn't work...until it does... I'm right! I'm right! Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Kick ass~! Channel 48 in the Philly area is showing Newsradio @ 10:00 PM weeknights. Watching the Stuart/Nancy/Tom P. Baxter episode. BILL MCNEIL~! PHIL HARTMAN~!
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Hm, I can see the link over here. Anyway, it leads to a discussion on alt.tv.newsradio about people who have gone to tapings. I've heard about how Andy & Joe were really entertaining at those tapings. Also, in the Pop-Up version of the 50th episode, I remember seeing a pop-up explaining how that scene was *not* filmed in front of a studio audience, for whatever reason, implying that audience filming was normal. Anyway, I went back to school today...and my Computer Theory teacher had...a cane!! It was a nice, Bill McNeal-style one with a silver handle. Since he was sitting down for the entire class, I wasn't sure if he really needed it or if he carried around to be pompous (he seemed like the type who would). I saw him in the hallway later, and he did indeed walk with a limp, so I guess it's a good thing I didn't snap it in half.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Bill: That was the most childish thing I've ever seen. (I love Dave's voice for this next line) Dave: No this is- (breaks it) But you were expecting it. Bill: No that caught me by suprise

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Go areacode!! Does anyone realise we have a thread thats 8 pgs long with 233 replies with only like 4 people posting?? That kicks ass
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted September 4, 2002 And I'm usually the one to bring it back from the dead. Go me!
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted September 4, 2002 I try to keep it alive then it dies and then Spiff is like: Hold on there and bumps it back up
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted September 4, 2002 I always get slightly depressed when I find this thread on page 3 of Movies/TV/DVDs (sometimes I even have to go past the cut-off date). But when I see it bumped back, I'm like "yeah, the Maura Brigade is on the ball!".

Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 4, 2002 Does anyone realise we have a thread thats 8 pgs long with 233 replies with only like 4 people posting?? That kicks ass Already noted, cheif. As for keeping the thread alive... bob barron still has to tell us about the time he BUMPed into Andy Dick. And the time he BUMPed into Andy Dick in space. And the time he BUMPed into Andy Dick on the Titanic. And I suppose areacode is right...for now. As it pertains to being all NewsRadio-y in real life, I make the faces Dave makes when everyone drives me crazy. Remember me running the "TV Station" WNYX a few pages back? Total chaos. Even had an annoyingly funny blonde guy. And a pompous, overbearing newsman who always had to get his way. And a fat boss. And all of us have noted that I almost went crazy doing it. Remind me to tell you guys some funny stories around page twelve. "Goofy" rubber balls. Chair theft. Getting a table kicked into me and me yelling "FUCK!" while the whole class was quiet. Good ol' NewsRadio fun. Except for the last one.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted September 5, 2002 Speaking of Goofy Ball, that episode is on right now.
