Guest Justwitty Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Well, to jump on multiple bandwagons... 1) I just voted for Newsradio as well and 2) Of my group of friends, I'm regarded as the Bill McNeal as well. I'm basically the sarcastic grand shit disturber while my best friend (the Dave) engages in verbal oneupsmanship with me. (It's odd, we sometimes make SNL counterpart lists because A) We do comedy and B) We're losers... and I always get assigned the Phil Hartman role as utilityman. Mattdotcom, I share in your hero worship of Bill.) I just tuned in to Letterman. Thanks for the heads up!
Guest bob_barron Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 This week in broadcasting I'm the writer of the group so I guess I'm the Matthew this week. Acting like Bill last week was so much fun and on the air I reeked of adequadicquocity
Guest Mattdotcom Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Ah, you guys don't have to type out Mattdotcom every time you address me...sounds too formal. Did anybody download the NewsRadio clip at Sony? It's like a commercial...good sign.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 I tried to but my internet sucks- I may try it later. What did it say Matt (can I call you Matt or do you prefer Matthew?)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 It wasn't anything special, just a bunch of random scenes. I think they added in a different laugh track for the clips, because the laughs sound so forced.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Andy Dick is gonna be on Jimmy Kimmell live on Monday
Guest Mattdotcom Posted February 9, 2003 Report Posted February 9, 2003 It was mainly clips from season one. A lot of the jokes didn't make as much sense out of context. Thank God I was well informed.
Guest T®ITEC Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 On AT&T Digital Cable, there's a PPV scheduled for Thursday. It's supposed to be a KITH reunion... You guys probably knew about it, but I just saw it today. It's fifteen dollar for an hour and a half. I'm tempted to order it, actually. I haven't seen some of the cast members since the show.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 I would buy it but I don't get digital cable so no PPV for me. Thanks for the heads up though TRITEC
Guest areacode212 Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 OK, here's Bob Barron singing his own jingle, inspired by the one heard on "The Real Deal": http://www.geocities.com/junimitsu/bob_bar...on_realdeal.zip (right-click, copy shortcut, and paste it in the address bar of your browser)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 LOL! When I use Real Player to listen to it, under "genre" it lists the clip as "Death Metal"
Guest areacode212 Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Yeah, I had some fun with the ID3 tags.
Guest T®ITEC Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 He sounds *exactly* the way he looks in that freaky picture... It's perfect.
Guest areacode212 Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 I was actually going to make a little Flash animation using that picture and the song. Maybe I still will do it sometime, just to brush up on my Flash skills. So look out for it!
Guest bob_barron Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 He sounds *exactly* the way he looks in that freaky picture... It's perfect. By freaky- you mean dead sexy right? :-) Anyway- glad that a 3 second sound clip of me could inspire AC so much
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 I always imagined Bob's voice as being higher in pitch, and with a little cracking in it, puberty style. No offense, Bob, but you look like a teenager in your pic.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 EDIT: nevermind, CWM impression
Guest bob_barron Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Well I am a teenager so no offence taken. But I did take offence to your double post. Bastard
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 I'm talking like 15-16 years old.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Ohhhh- well still no offence taken otherwise. ::Waits for Spaceman Spiff to turn around and lays him out with the Power of the Punch::
Guest Mattdotcom Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Phil's brother was on Larry King. I tried to bump the thread, but my new computer makes the board mess up. I'm trying to figure it out. Hell, I don't even know if this post will work. (If you just finished reading this, disregaurd last sentence)
Guest bob_barron Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 ::Disregards last sentence:: I think they rerun Larry King at midnight so I'll try and watch
Guest T®ITEC Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Here's the preview from CNN: Phil Hartman's brilliant comedy career came to an abrupt end when his wife shot him to death before taking her own life. Five years later, many still wonder why this tragedy occurred . John Hartman talks with Larry in his first primetime interview since his brother was killed. The replay is on at midnight, EST. Wh00.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 I caught the last twenty or so minutes at least. NewsRadio is mentioned and shown. John Hartman says Phil loved everything about NewsRadio.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Oh, Andy Dick was on Cribs over the weekend and actually has CATS~! Matthew Brock would cry when he heard this: ANDY: (Paraphrased) Sometimes my cats get locked and my garage and don't eat for days. Meanwhile, my class is getting ready to do our big play and I've put my character into total asshole Bill mode. And since I'm claiming to be a method actor, I act even more like Bill in the class. So_eat_that,_barron.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Last time in broadcasting I was the assignment editor but unlike Lisa I slacked off most of the day and didn't really do much work. I didn't let anyone boss me around though. Next time I'm the tape editor which I guess makes me the uhhhhhhhhh yea- I don't think anyone matches it.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 You could be Joe and build a robot that edits tapes for you.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Hmmm. Since I know nothing about tape editing I'm just gonna let the girl who is also tape editor do all the work. She'll be my robot
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Wasn't Guy the tape editor? You know, from the "I'm Bill McNeil...on CRACK..." episode? Or was he just for promo spots? Dave: "At least call him by his real name, Bill." Bill: "What, his name *is* Guy!"
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 *bump* So, I'm watching "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" (the movie) over the weekend (mmm, Kristy Swanson), and who do I see? Stephen Root! As the principal of the school. That is all.
