Guest bob_barron Posted August 12, 2002 Report Posted August 12, 2002 It has the word holiday in its title
Guest areacode212 Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 Ted. He's dead. And the hobbits and the gnomes, they're dancing to and fro They have to keep the plus-two sword from the chaotic evil thief lord Now we're rockin', now we're really rockin' Now we're really really really really really rockin' [plays air guitar] But one day, Ted met an elf named Matthew But Balrog the dragon was a clever beast Matthew's vorpal sword of sharpness was no match...[get's interrupted] But Matthew's mithril chain mail really rocked the house..." [he plays air guitar]
Guest bob_barron Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 What episode is that from?? Also- The Law and Order with Maura Tierney is on tonight at 11 pm
Guest redbaron51 Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 there was an episode on earlier today at 8 am EST... neither Dave nor Lisa wanted to be boss, Matthew wants to be Floor Fire Ispector thingy... and Joe and his brothers were fighting, pretty good stuff... and yes Stephen Root is god
Guest bob_barron Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 Stephen Root is awesome- He was on Norm and was Milton. Plus we have the same birthday!
Guest areacode212 Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 What episode is that from?? Also- The Law and Order with Maura Tierney is on tonight at 11 pm It's from Copy Machine (you know, the one where the gang finds out that their coworker Ted died in a "freak accident". Then Ted's friend comes to the station to ask to share their memories of him. Of course, nobody does, but Matthew starts to sing a song he wrote about him.).
Guest bob_barron Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 Ohhhhh yea- Public Domain is now my second favourite episode- every scene is laugh out loud hilarious and its Bill-centric. I love Bill and all but even I wanted to punch him for being such a dick during that episode
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 Stephen Root is awesome- He was on Norm and was Milton. Plus we have the same birthday! He was also on an episode of Night Court. Does voice(s) on King of the Hill, which had a sorta Newsradio reunion in their 2nd (?) season when Andy, Vicki, and Maura all did voices in the same episode.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I believe so. I know he does Bill's voice, too.
Guest areacode212 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Looks like Scotland, P.A. will be coming to DVD on October 22. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...4777721-6971868
Guest bob_barron Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Someone told me it was fantastic
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 A couple sad episodes yesterday - Titanic and the Bill Tribute On to the Jon Lovitz era
Guest bob_barron Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Bill Moves On is my third favourite episode and Matthew's letter always makes me cry
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 I like when Jimmy takes his Bill's desk. Mover: "If you want a desk, I know a guy..." Jimmy: "No, I want this desk right here"
Guest bob_barron Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Matthew: If for some strange reasson Bill does come back- don't tell him I put his coffee mug in my pants
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 "Shut up, you crazy bitch" "That's just what Bill would have said"
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Matthew (after Lisa reads her letter about Bill imagining her naked): "Are you sure that letter wasn't for me?"
Guest Mattdotcom Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 I had teary eyes, but didn't cry, by the time Mr. James got Bill's desk. God, this episode was so bittersweet. Some great jokes, you know? But something bothered me: The Laughtrack goes off when the gang walks in for no reason. And, something I always notice that breaks my heart: When Matthew pulls out his marshmallow, you can hear Beth squeak out, "Oh, my God!" while fighting back tears. Gave me chills. Props to getting this bumped. I was gonna when I knew "Bill Moves On" was coming on.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 I guess we'll do the next poll to celebrate this weekend.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 The "White Noise" episode is a pretty good Season 5 episode. Plus Lisa is lookin' gooooood
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 23, 2002 Report Posted August 23, 2002 True dat. Although there are some episodes where they seemingly didn't do anything w/ her hair (it just sits there looking bad), which takes her down a bit. But for the most part, you're right.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 Ahhh, the episode where NewsRadio really started to lose it: the "Jimmy is DB Cooper" episode. The first introduction to Johnny Johnson, arguably the only character worse than Max Lewis. Johnny is just not likable in the least. At least when Bill was being an SOB, he was likable & funny. You just can't connect w/ Johnny. Plus, he marries Lisa. Boo, Lisa. Boooo. Poor, poor Dave.
Guest redbaron51 Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 I hate the Jon Lovitz era.... he is not funny. I was watching Liar Liar today, and Lisa (Muary Tierna i think) was in that movie...damn she is a fine looking woman
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 To be fair, Lovitz does have some good moments. But all-in-all, the "Lovitz era" just didn't have the same feel. It's arguable if they could have ever recovered from losing Hartman. It would be interesting to see what John Laroquette could have done (there were rumors he was a candidate). And it's Maura Tierney.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted August 27, 2002 Report Posted August 27, 2002 One thing that the D.B. Cooper story led to that was good: Adam West. My God. My childhood and young adult years are connected by Adam West in so many ways, it isn't funny. Anybody have any NewsRadio dreams? Last night, I dreamt Dave Foley took over "Win Ben Stein's Money" and just talked about how he was rich from NBC money and answered every question.
