Her Ass Is A Spaceship That I Want To Ride

-Good God, there been quite a few bannings lately. So far, it seems like fanofcoils, Desperate Housewife, and Dam(o)n Yankees have been kicked out. So, what does ol' lovecraft think of this? Well, here are my thoughts of the banned offenders, including some long delayed thoughts on someone banned a while back.   .Dam(o)n Yankees-While he did get in a few arguments, and say some stupid things, he really didn't do anything to annoy me. To be honest, I don't see why he was banned, though I would like to know why.   .Desperate Housewife-I can see why. The guy constantly chastized posters in the WWE forums (including yours truely) for complaining in a "fan forum" (which it is not) about the product. I've already said it several times, so I'll say it again: This is the fucking internet. People complain over dumb shit all of the time, and it's nothing new. If you can't take the heat, then step away from the fire.   .fanofcoils-This guy should have been banned the first time he made an idiotic comment. Everyone from Special K, Vitamin X, Slayer, and yours truely couldn't stand the guy. Plus, he was the ultimate troll (read the threads on V for Vendetta and The Hills Have Eyes in the movie forum), derailed threads (as Special K pointed out), and was most likely some past banned poster. Good fucking riddance.   .MikeSC-An oldie to be sure. Wow, were to start. Randomly insulting people. Failing to back up his "facts". Trolling the NWA TNA forums. Turning a "Farenheit 9/11" discussion into a shitstorm (and I didn't even like the damn movie). Calling Islam a "Radical Death Cult". The list just goes on. At least he has his own message board now.   Glad I got all of that off of my chest. -Well, I'm pretty busy as of late, which isn't the best way to start out the first entry of May '06. Oh well.   -Has anybody seen the new commercial for the new Super Soaker called "The Oozinator"? If so, I just have to tell you: It scares the shit out of me. The commercial looks like it was made by pedophiles.   -I saw Steve Colbert's ripping on the president on the net last night, and I liked what I saw. The silence in the room (filled with other Republicans) makes it a bit uncomfortable though.   -Last Saturday's "Best Of" SNL episode (Best of TV Funhouse) was awesome. I always loved the TV Funhouse skits, and they had some of my favorites, including the X-Presidents, Fun With Real Audio (The Newscaster one and the MCain one were awesome, as was the Clinton Testimony one), Shazaang!, Cartoons in Black History (My favorite being the all African singing one), "Trapped In The Disney Vault", "Christmas Time For the Jews" The tribute to Charles Schultz...they had almost everything. The only problems were the cutting some of them got, and the Ace and Gary bits were annoying. Oh, and for thouse of you who wish they had the Ray Lewis one, Here's "Ray of Light".   -Now, here's a website for ya: http://www.bangme.net/ . Music Update II

Well, I finished off listening to the CD's I recently bought. Here's my Quick thoughts.   Massive Attack-Blue Lines-Great Stuff. It's not as good as Mezzanine (aka the greatest Trip-Hop album ever recorded) but it's still great. There's a bit of a hip hop feeling to it, which i really like.   Richie Hawtin-Decks, EFX, and 909-This is awesome. A continuous mix of minimal techno, with repetative beats and rhythms, all seemlessly put together for a great listening experience. One of the Best DJ Mix CD's I've ever heard, slightly beaten out by Coldcut's 70 Minutes of Madness.   Finally, it seems like I might be a member of Clique B in the Hardcore discussion. So, If I'm in Clique B, and Czech isn't, then what does that make Leena?

lovecraft rates new music

Well, I'm done with my Business Writing Homework (for now at least). So, here's my picks for what I've liked, and what I didn't liked, in music so far.   What I've Liked   Ghostface Killah's Fishscale album-This sucker is the best album of the year so far. I listen to this album every week, and it just keeps getting better.   Gnarls Barkley-From what I've heard, it sounds like another future purchase for me. Plus, it's Cee-Lo and the awesome Dangermouse.   Mono's You Are There album-Another great album. I personally think this is going to be in the top post-rock albums of all time.   The Sounds-Hell yes. Fun, unpretentious rock from Sweden. Plus, it's infectious as hell.   Goldfrapp   The new Prince album.   What I Haven't Liked   The New Revolting Cocks Album-Well, I like the song "Viagra Culture" (How can you not love a song with the line "My Weiner Must Win!"), but other than that, this album is a huge let. It doesn't even sound like a Revolting Cocks album.   RHCP Stadium Arcadium-I've heard it from other people's dorms, and to be honest, I find it a bit disappointing.   Keisha Cole-I'm sick and tired of hearing the song Love, though fortunately, I don't hear it as much as I used to.   Just About Anything Emo. I really can't wait for this whole thing to end.   The Editors-I don't care what anyone says: They are not better than Interpol. Hell, I find them unsatisfactory at best   Artic Monkeys-Am I the only person who isn't creaming their pants over this band? They aren't that good.   [b]Still Waiting For[/b]   The new Current 93 album-Fortunately, it comes out really soon, so the wait won't be long.   That's all for now. Spring Break is over, and other things

-Well, my week of Spring Break is over. Some spent there spring break in Cancun. My Sister spent hers in South Carolina. Me? I spent it visiting my parents. Nothing special.   -Anyways, I've noticed that everywhere I go these days, there's a magazine with Ashlee Simpson on The cover. My question is, why? Really, why is she on so many magazine covers? Is she still popular?   -There's some neat little movies coming out tomorrow on DVD. The one I am most interested in for some reason, is "Shadow: Dead Riot". This does not look like a good movie per say, but it looks more like a movie that is so bad it will be great. Plus, it's a zombie movie, a martial arts movie, and a women in prison movie all in one.   -I hope everyone who has read it enjoyed the review of Tobe Hooper's "Mortuary" that I posted on my blog.   -Finally, I hope Carnival and Lushus have a good time at Raw tonight. Granted, Raw has sucked it hard for a while now, but I still hope they have fun.

41.) Current 93-Aryan Aquarians Some artists release albums so bad even they don't want anybody to hear it. David Tibet, who I think is awesome, has every right to be embarresed by this album. A dreadful attempt at synth-pop, the album is bad in every way imaginable. It's almost as if he and hid friends recorded this as a joke. If that's the case, then it's not a funny one.   40.) Rage Against The Machine-Renegades Yet another shitty covers album. Hearing Devo's Beautiful World and Bob Dylan's Maggie Farm get butchered is one thing. The real crime though, is hearing such Hip-Hop classics such as Afrika Bambaata's Renegades of Funk, Erik B. and Rakim's Microphone Fiend, Cypress Hill's How I Could Just Kill A Man, and Volume Ten's Pistol Grip Pump get ruined. These travesty's thus make it slightly worse tham A Perfect Circles also shitty eMotive.   39.) Yes-Big Generator There is nothing worse than a good band with a hit doing a failed attempt to capitalize on that hit. That's all Big Generator is. he band does see them try to go back to their old style, and it was a big hit, ot also sounds too much like they are conflicted with making another hit and returning back to their roots. The result is this album, which never finds it's voice, and ends up sounding like a lost cause. Cool album cover though...

Entry With a Mission

-Well, I'm not going to be able to see "Silent Hill" tonight. Why? Because of homework. Oh well, at least I have something to do.   -I've gotten sort of used to the image of the mutant baby. That out of the way, I agree with everybody else: It needs to go. Besides, the feminized anime wrestlers are the new disturbing of TSM, though they're also hilarious. Plus, they finally gave Masked Man of Mystery a good sig.   -You know, what ever happened to Punk's sense of humor. Sure, punk has always rebelled against society and such, but at least most of the bands of old (Ramones, Dead Kennedys) had a sense of humor to go along with it. I mention this because nowadays, it seems like all the "punk" bands have no sense of humor, and take themselves way too seriously. And people wonder why I prefer bands like The Sounds to Anti-Flag: Because while bands like The Sounds aren't really great bands, they are at least more fun than most "punk" bands of today, who have become too preachy for their own good.   -Last night, the legendary "Jessie's Song" episode of Saved By The Bell aired on Adult Swim. For those who haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it. It's (unintentional) comedy gold.

The Day After

-Well, right now, it seems like the Democrats are going to take over. While I'm no Democrat, it's good to see that some change might be coming. Meanwhile,I've seen Bleeding Heart Conservatives react in different ways. Some are complaining (talk radio), some are trying to spin it so it will look like they sort of won (talk radio, Fox News), and some are just going to act obnoxiously for the next few weeks (Czech, who's suddenly transformed into our new reactionary conservative over the previous days. Personally, it's good to see him squirm, since he seems to realize that time is running out.)   -Masters of Horror was good last Friday. It had George Wendt, believe it or not (who plays a pretty convincing psycho), and was a good balance between dry humor and creepy atmosphere.   -I went to a poetry reading headlined by Saul Williams last night. It was awesome, and I might buy some of his books in the future.   -Donald Rumsfeld resigned. I actually never expected it to happen, it's great to see that he's finally gone.

A List of Shitty Horror Movies

You know, I've seen a lot of Horror movies in my lifetime. Hell, probably more than I can remember. Anyways, I've seen some good ones, some great ones, some ok ones, some guilty pleasures, and some really horrible ones. Here's a list of some of the really horrible ones.   Strangeland-Dee Snider (Yes, of Twisted Sister fame) produced, wrote, and stars in this shitty S&M and internet themed horror film as Captain Howdy (yes, from "The Exorcist"), a guy who likes to lure teenage girls via chatrooms into his lair, so that he can torture and mutilater them, and who says really pathetic pseudo-intellectual bullshit. Also stars Robert Englund (who you end up seeing spread eagle in his tightie whities), Kevin Gage, and Linda Cardellini as one of Howdy's victims. Yes, you see poor Linda Cardellini tortured and mutilated.   Dario Argento's The Phantom of the Opera-How could Dario Argento fuck this one up? The first in the man's unfortunate decline, this one stars Julian Sands as a disfigured killer raised by rats, who falls for Asia Argento, and kills anynody who harms his rats. In spite of some decent kills, this is a disaster. See Argento's "Opera" instead of this one. Still, it's at least better than the 2004 "Phantom of the Opera"   Manhattan Baby-Some people will tell you that Lucio Fulci is one of the greatest horror director's that ever lived. If you ask me, he's just a guy who got lucky a few times, and directed a whole lot of shitty movies. This one is probably his worst. Basically, archaelogists unleash an evil Egyptian spirit, which possesses the daughter of one of the professors, and murders ensue. A real bore, without any interesting kills, atmosphere, or anything else.   Faust: Love For the Damned-Brian Yuzna has really gone under a decline. This poorly done adaptation of the XXX comic (so, why bother doing it as an R-rated movie?) is horribly acted, corny, and while it has it's moments, is a bore. It also really wastes the talents of Jeffrey Combs and Andrew ("Wishmaster") Divoff. See "Return of the Living Dead 3" instead of this.   Meat Market-I'll never understand the appeal of these dreadful shot on camcorder zombie movies. This movie has lesbian vampires, a luchador, and decent gore effects, yet blows it all on piss poor acting (it's obvious no one in it has had any acting lessons), poor attempts to mimick much better zombie movies, and dreadful attempts at comedy.   From Dusk Till Dawn II: Texas Blood Money-Directed by "Evil Dead" producer Scott Spiegel, this shitfest, in spite of appearences from Bruce Campbell and Danny Trejo, actually manages to be worse than your average Direct-To-Video sequal thanks to bland as hell characters, a disappointing finale, and a waste of talent.

Kerry is a fucking idiot

-To John Kerry: Godamnit. I don't care if it was a botched joke, you really fucked up. Quit being high and mighty over it ("oh, it's all part of the Republicans trying to make us look bad") and fess up. Unfortunately, this will probably fuck things up, and make it that thr Republicans are still in office (remember folks, while I may rip on the republicans and tend to lean left, I'm still not a Democrat), so fuck you John Kerry, and thanks for nothing.   -Leena's getting shitloads of attention in the Chocolate Socket (I really think we need to change the name), and getting in arguments. Also, snuffbox insulted me (which I find amusing), and Cheesala congradulated me (whcih creeps me out). Anywho, I wonder how much longer this will go on.   -I've got another exam in a week, and one more in two weeks, so wish me luck bastards.   -I can't wait for the elections to end, mostly because I'm tired of seeing attack ads every time I watch TV.

Movies and shit

Yep, summer's almost over, and we don't have mcuh time for movies. Here's what's coming up, and what I think.   -War- It's Jason Statham, it's Jet Li. I really hope it doesn't suck. The trailer for Saw 4, or "How can we milk this for all it's worth now?" is attatched to it.   -Right at Your Door- It's a limited release movie that comes out this week, but it's been getting some good buzz from the horror community. It involves dirty bombs apparently.   -Balls of Fury-Only razazteca is looking forward to this. Everyone else (myself included) thinks it looks terrible. Advanced word is that it's terrible. In other words, it should be terrible.   -Halloween-I'm skeptical, which doesn't usually happen to me when remakes come around. On one hand, there's really no need to remake it, and I'm sick of hearing fanboys pissing and moaning over it. On the other hand, Rob Zombie does seem like somebody who respects the source material, and he's got a hell of a cast.   -Death Sentance-The director of Saw moves away from the horror genre to do a revenge movie starring Kevin Bacon. I'll probably see it later.   -Hatchet-The online buzz for this has been deafening. If you haven't heard about it, it's a slasher movie that came to the festival circuit last year, has recieved rave reviews, and comes out in a wide theatrical release via Anchor Bay September 7th. Oh, and Kane Hodder (largely considered to be the best Jason Vorhees) plays the killer. I'm definately going to see it, especially since it's recieved comparisons to slasher movies of old ("Friday the 13th IV", "The Burning", etc.)   -3:10 To Yuma-Christian Bale and Russel Crowe in a western from the guy who directed "Walk The Line." That's all you need to know.

Be Aggressive

-Back from my test. Don't know how I did, but I hope I did good.   -Rush Limbaugh recently attacked Michael J Fox for supporting a Democratic candidate, and said that he's probably faking his Parkinsons. For fucks sake, this is pathetic. Look, I usually understand it when people get annoyed by celebrities getting behind politicians, but that's just sick Limbaugh. Of course, it doesn't come to any suprise to me. I just hope I don't end up getting a verbal lashing from kkktookmybabyaway. Normally I'm up for it, but I don't want to hear it right now.   -Just a reminder: Season 2 of Masters of Horror begins Friday at 10:00 PM on Showtime. The premier episode is called "The Damned Thing", and is directed by Tobe ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 & 2", "Poltergeist", "Lifeforce", The better than the original remake of "Toolbox Murders") Hooper.

Paul is (Not) Dead

-Well, Paul was banned, then unbanned. For those who don't know what the hell I'm talking about, check out The Chocolate Socket. Also, I hate the title of that board.   Anyways, it's weird. He was banned for being a PBP, I still don't know which one, and now he's back. My contruibution: Pictures and random quotes. I'm going to move up to song lyrics next.   Also, I never really have paid too much attention to Paul. Don't Hate him, not a huge fan of him, he's just kind of there to me.   -That out of the way, the current best thread right now is the "Best Albums of 2006" thread. TSM Chat, other things

-Well, the TSM chat is alright. Not many people seem to show up. I really love the fact that the Jetson's theme pops up in it. I did chat briefly with Amnesia. To anyone who wants to chat over there, I'm still giving it a shot.   -I hope you folks liked that list of hip hop songs, since it won't continue. Theres more that I do love, but it would be pointless to continue it, as I was starting to get tired of it.   -So, if he doesn't care whether or not Jimmy crack corn, why the hell is he telling us?   -"Captivity" tanked, and I'm glad. I already mentioned that I'm sick of torture flicks, and I've been waiting for more worthwhile looking horror movies. There's a new "Resident Evil" movie coming out, and after the disaster that was the second one, I'm not exactly jumping for joy. Also, I'm not excited over "I Am Legend", since it's basically one of my all time favorite stories becoming a Will Smith vehicle, written by the guy who usually writes writes Will Smith movies.   -I'm growing a goatee and moustache right now. So far, it's turning out alright, though this isn't the first time I've had one. I grew a beard last year, but ended up shaving it as it itched like a mother fucker.   -Finally, the new Interpol album, Our Love To Admire is a good album but I can't help but feel disappointed in it. It just kind of sounds like the band is treading water now.   Next time: More Metal Albums I'm enjoying

Depeche Mode Albums

Before I start my thoughts on Depeche Mode Albums, I'd just like to say R.I.P. to John Tenta.   Now, on to the reviews. Here they are, reviewed in order of release   -Speak and Spell-Lightweight stuff, and the only album produced by Vince Clark. There's some good tracks ("Photographic" and "Tora! Tora! Tora!" in particular), but for the most part, it's too lightweight.   -A Broken Frame-Underappreciated, though I'm always a sucker for transitional albums. Some tracks are too lightweight ("Meaning of Love" and "See You") but this album is more focused and better sounding, and shows hints of what they would become with "Leave in Silence" and Monumet". Also has experiments with dub reggae that are hit and miss, and "Nothing to Fear" is one of their best instrumentals.   -Constructuon Time Again-A bit of an industrial influence comes in with steel percusion samples and such on tracks like "Pipeline". "Everything Counts" is a classic, while "Shame" and "Love in Itself" are underrated. Songs like "More than a Party" and "The Landscape is Changing" really aren't that good though.   -Some Great Reward-I always thought "Blasphemous Rumors" was overrated, and "Somebady"is cringe inducing. Other than that, this is a good album, with "People are People" and "Master and Servant" would be a big influence on Industrial Dance, and "Something to Do" and "Lie to Me" are great Moody songs.   -Black Celebration-There are experiments in minimalism on some tracks, and they suprisingly work. Most of the album ("Sometimes" sucks though) is great, with a moody feeling that went over with synthpop fans. Not Tonight" is great, and "Stripped" is one of my favorite songs.   -Music For The Masses-Their best album, and a major classic. Everything about it clicks, even the instrumentals. "Never Let Me Down" and "Strangelove" have almost stadium levels of awesomeness, while "To Have and To Hold" creates a great atmosphere. Hell, even the alternate takes on songs and mixes are great.   -Violator-Everyone knows this album, so i won't say anything else.   -Songs of Faith and Devotion-Too inspired by Nine Inch Nails, this one is alright. "Rush" and "Mercy in You" are way too chest thumping, and hardly sound like DM songs. "I Feel You" does feature great use of guitar feedback, and "Walking in My Shoes" has a great, almost trip-hop feeling to it.   -Ultra-Their most underrated album. "Home" is the best Gore-sung song, while "It's no Good" features great synth work. Also, the use of guitars on "Useless" and "Barrel of a Gun" are great.   -Exciter-Their worst studio album. It sounds too much like they're trying to re-create "Violator", and some of the songs just feel like remakes. "I Feel Love" is great though.   -Playing The Angel-"Macrovision" is a shitty song. Other than that, this is a great album. Excellent use of analogue beats, and the songwriting is some of their best yet.   That's all for now. Next Time: Moving out of my dorm.

Spring Break So Far

-Well, spring break is going on right now. So far, things have been just ok, and some of it has sucked.   For one thing, my aunt Mary recently has an aneurysm. Fortunately, she's doing betther, but it still scares me. I always got along with her, and though I'm usually not one to pick favorites, shes definately up there.   Also, today was a boring day. How boring? Well, I actually started to watch The Tyra Banks show for some reason. She was talking to a lesbian couple who won't be accepted by one of the girls mother. I was actually rooting for the couple, until I realized that I was watching the fucking Tyra Banks show, and I stopped and started reading horror instead to make sure that I wan't transforming into some kind of pussy. I do hope the mom accepts her daughter though.   -I saw 300 yesterday, and loved it. Granted, it may be the most homoerotic movie of the year (even Brokeback Mountain didn't have this much gay imagery), but it's still great. The trailers were ok. The Spiderman 3 was great (Fuck yeah Venom), but The Reaping (the new Dark Castle movie starring Hillary Swank) looks like shit. That reminds me, one of the Biblical Plagues is frogs, yet how is that bad? How are frogs deadly? Ok, so some are poisonous, but still, their frogs. Maybe God was on an off day when it comes to that plague.   -Oh yeah, I went to a mall last Saturday. It sucked, because nothing was there. The only place that sold DVD's and music and books has been replaced by a Christian bookstore. I did go to Best Buy however, and got Al Green's Call Me, which is one of the best soul albums ever recorded. Seriously, if you don't already own it, buy it. You won't regret it.   -Finally, I'm going to start a list of the 50 worst albums ever recorded. I'm going to ask for help from others, so suggestions from posters would be great.

I sometimes wonder why I talk about wrestling to some people.   Let's face it folks, the wrestling boards here (except for General Wrestling) suck, especially the WWE folder. That out of the way, not many are that much better. Hell, DVDVR has good discusions on wrestling that don't devolve into "Cena Sux lol" or other childish insults.   Seriously though, there is always going to be that guy that the IWC sees as a scapegoat. Then again, when was the last time the IWC was really happy? No matter what, they will complain. That out of the way, this is the internet. Everybody complains about something and has a scapegoat, be it AICN vs Rob Zombie, the IWC vs. Cena or HHH, and the list goes on. Nobody is ever really happy online.   Anyways, these are pre-determined wrestling matches. Has it ever come to some of your minds that maybe you are overreacting a bit. I mean, John Cena isn't the Antichrist. Sure, I don't like him being at top for so long either, but he's not the worst wrestler ever. Hell, he's actually a good worker (watch his matches with Michaels-if you didn't like those, then you just harbour a blind hatred) and seems to be a professional guy who was just forced onto the spotlight. Does he deserve all this? Maybe not, but I'm not going to through a fit over it.   What is the fucking point of having member titles like "Cena hater" or "HHHate." You don't even know these guys. For all you know, they are pretty good guys.   And why would anybody harbour such hatred for a wrestler? Doesn't that ever seem like a waste of energy?   In short, life's too short to spend that much time and energy taking a pre determined "sport" so seriously. Tat's all I have to say.

Banned in 31 Countries!

Well, the Raw ratings are doing bad as of late. Bonnie Hunter now wants "more Russo style shows" (that will be a sucess...), and Vince is having a mental breakdown behind the scenes apparently.   What's to blame for the ratings drop?   Well, this isn't exactly the boom era anymore. The "Vince is dead" storyline was cool, but let's face the facts: it would have gone on for a really long time, and would have just dragged on and on. This is the WWE we're talking about here, they have a tendancy to milk something for all it's worth until there's nothing left, and you aren't interested. Austin vs. McMahon was popular, but he's gone, and let's face it folks, you can only see Vince get humiliated by the guy so many times before your finger hits the remote.   Then there's the death of Chris "The 'How's-it-hangin'' murder" Benoit. This whole story has demoralized a buisiness not known for being upstanding and moral. Now some wrestling fans are embarressed to watch, or don't have it in them anymore after this, and those who are/were potential viewers feel that it would be wrong to do so. Even I feel uneasy watching WWE programs now.   The company does need something to strike interest again. Unfortunately, Cena isn't it. I know, I kind of defended the guy last time, but he isn't bringing in anybody. You can only see the guy overcome the odds so many times before you get tired. A shame really, as this isn't his fault as much as as it is the companies.   One thing Raw really needs is a strong heel. Edge is out, Khali is champ at Smackdow, Batista is still chasing the gold, nobody cares about Rey enough to see him as champ, and Orton, while a good heel, doesn't need to be champ. Don't give me that "at least it will get the belt off Cena" bullshit, I don't want to see Orton as Champ.   Will TNA start to generate interest? I have no idea at this point. I know I'm growing interested in the product, though you tend to hear some people say "TNA will be gone by next year" It's like The Pit: You want to give it a try, but certain guys (Kevin Nash, Russo) keep you from checking it out.   The point of this whole rant? I have no clue as to what is hurting the ratings, but bringing in "Russo like ideas" isn't going to save the day.

An Invaluable Waste

Well, it's been a while, but I have an answer why: Homework. Oh, and my printer broke this weekend, and I had to get a new one. Basically, I've been having a shitty weekend, whough hopefully, things will get better.   Anyways, here's part two of my list of the most pretentious bands and albums   A Silver Mt. Zion-This one hurts for me, because I actually like this band. That out of the way, I do have to admit that while i love the genre, Post Rock is one of the most pretentious things in music right now. Let's look at the facts: Here's a band that's full of post rock cliched (the crecendos, ridiculous band name, inhumanly long album and song titles) that's a GYBE! side project (there's a lot of these) and this one made it on the list because well, even though there are many similar bands, this one just came to mind. Oh well.   Genesis P. Orridge-When i was Young-Here's a major miss. For those of you who don't know who Genesis is, he's essentially one of the most important figures in industrial music, mostly because he was a member of the first ever indistrial band Throbbing Gristle. After TG split, he formed Psychic TV. After Psychic TV split, he got a sex change. Oh, and released this album For some reason, he thought that doing really short spoken word poetry (repeated over an over ) over bland trip-hop production was a good idea. Well guess again pal. The album is really self indulgent in it's simplicity (never thought you'd hear that one) and is also really, really boring. Not so suprising, it was only released as a limited edition.   Wreckx-N-Effect-Rap's New Generation-Yep, believe it or not, the guys who recorded "Rump Shacker" made it on the list. Why? Well, let me explain:   There are ton's of covers albums out there. While a few of them are good, most of them really suck. However, the worst, and most self important, of these, is WAE's 1996 album Rap's New Generation. Here, the group cover such hip hop classics as "Planet Rock" and "Da Vpours", while paying "tribute" to old school hip hop. However, from the title of the album itself, you can tell that there's a real self importance to the whole thing, and it pretty much shows the world why they were known for "Rump Shaker", and nothing more. And I like the song "Rump Shaker".   Coil-Here's one that really pains me to type. anyways, as you folks know, I love Coil. They are one of industrial and experimental electronic musics most important, and best bands. So, why did they make it on here? Because of two albums-Time Machines and Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil. The former is basically a series of repeated synth drones made to "fascillitate time travel". Translation: take hallucinogens while listening to this. The latter though, is the worst: a tribute to Krautrock bands like Faust and noise rock bands like Butthole Surfers. The Problem? It has none of the odd humor or offbeat fun of those groups., thus making it an unlistenable, sprawling mess.   That's all for now. Next Time: The list comes to an end.

On Lieberman, and other things

-In case you've been living under a rock for the past week and a half, Joe "I look just like Max Wright from Alf" Lieberman got his ass handed to him by Lamont. While some in the media talked about his pro-war stance, let's not forget that   -He loves censorship. Really, he's one of the reasons we have ratings on video games now. -He's not a big fan of Clinton -He looks like Droopy Dog   While I have no sympathy for the guy, I find it funny that it seems like the only position the Democrats can seem to agree on any more is Anti-War. We have yet to see most of them make a stand or stance on just about anything at this point.   Also, Ted Kennedy recently attacked Cheney for his comments on Lamont. While I'm all for ripping on Gargoyle, I don't think that Kennedy is the best choice to criticize.   -No, I'm not going to remind folks to see "The Descent", because I'm sure that some of you folks have already seen it. For those who did: I told you that it's great.   -It seems like there is an upcoming settlement between Isreal and Hezbollah. Well folks, it isn't going to last long. Hezbollah will just attack again in the future, and the U.N. and the governments of the world will continue to wonder why there is so much conflict. Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's just common sense, but there has always been conflict in the Middle East, and there will always be. Me, I have no idea how to fix things. Hell, I don't think things ever will be fixed. Some might call that negative thinking, I call it the truth.   That's all for now. Next time: A look at the movies of Dario Argento.

Halloween TV

Well, it's about Halloween. Here's a list of what I've watched the last few days:   -"Masters of Horror"-Season premier was on last Friday. It was good, but not great. The ending was unsatisfactory, thoughg it still wasn't bad. Some nice gore in it though.   -"Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes"-This one was on last Saturday at 9:00 PM. Man, not even Doug "Pinhead" Bradley or Lance Hendrikson could save this shitty sequal. Granted, it was better than part II, (Which had Roger Clinton in a cameo, who also sings the title song. No, I'm not making this up) but it was still lacking. Also, the dubbed in Southern accents were laughable at best.   -"30 Even Scarier Movie Moments"-I caught the 3 AM showing. Weak compared to the previous "100 Scariest Movie Moments." Come on, I enjoyed "Hostel", but it didn't deserve to be #1. Also, "The Grudge"? Come on! At least "Wolf Creak" and "The Devils Rejects" made the list.   -"Exorcist II" Man, what a shitty movie. Granted, it has a reputation for being shitty, but still, its a really bad movie. Actually, I kind of flipped between this and Adult Swim. It has a great score by Ennio Moricone, but that's the only good thing about it.   -"Aqua Teen Hunger Force"-Yep, there's new episodes. Better than last weeks, especially since it was a Carl centered episode, and he's my favorite character.   -The Weather Channel-I only turn to this in the morning to see what the weather will be like later on.   So yeah, I liked ATHF and MOH, and not much else.

-It seems like a woman was fired from her job as a sunday school teacher in New York because she's a woman. Read the story here. And people wonder why I became a deist.   -I just saw Dante Tomaselli's new movie "Satan's Playground". Avoid it. I wrote a review for it on the Internet Movie Database, and it should be up soon.   -Salon is retarded. According to them, "24" needs to stop. Well gee, I'm sorry that it didn't have enough about why Bush is a horrible president, you stupid fucks. Read it here. At least they ripped on Nancy Grace.   -Geraldo has a problem with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Seriously, has anybody ever taken Geraldo fucking seriously. The guy is a gigantic dick, and is only good for the unintentional humor he provides.   -I went to the mall again last Thursday. Why? Because I needed some new t-shirts. I didn't find any that were good unfortunately, though Spencers at least plays better music than Hot Topic. I do find it amusing, that so many kids sepend so much money on anti-Bush t-shirts, when they have no idea they are falling into the hands of the same corperations they so lovingly rail against.   That's all for now. More Bounce To The Ounce

Today's entry brought to you Zapp and Roger. Don't leave home without it!   -Anyways, I'm sure that a lot of people here bought the new Tool album that came out today. It did come out today, didn't it? Just wondering. Anywho, personally, I'm not too interested. Sure, I would have been interested in this back when I was a teenager, but when I turned 21, I finally grew a bit tired of Tool. I don't know wy, but I just did. I'll still have to hear it blaring from speakers in my college, but I will admit, I'd rather hear Tool than that Keisha Cole song "Love". I have to hear that song every fucking day, and I'm sick of it. At least I have Current 93's new album to look forward to later this month. You Tool fans think that five years is a long wait? Try waiting 10 years since David Tibet and co. have released an album of new material.   -I actually enjoyed Raw last night. Not every part of it, but I thought it was good. Highlight of the show was the worked shoot from Joey Styles. Check it out here. Also good was the Kane vs. Conway match, simply for the fact that they made this whole "May 19th" angle a litte enjoyable, or at least for five minutes. Oh, and I still love the Spirit Squad.
