• For as much as I want to goof on Joe Pa and Sappy Valley, I must say I’m impressed.

Joe Paterno exchanged words with another motorist who then complained to police about the Penn State football coach's conduct. No charges were filed.

The incident, which had been rumored about on Internet message boards, was confirmed by the coach during a weekly luncheon earlier this week, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday. The luncheon is closed to the media and his comments are typically treated as off-the-record, but some people in attendance recounted Paterno's exchange with the audience to the newspaper...

Paterno told the luncheon crowd he nearly collided with another car on a campus road last week and exchanged words with the other driver and her husband.

...According to a police log reviewed by The Associated Press, a staff member reported just after noon Oct. 5 that "a male driver committed a traffic violation and acted in a disorderly manner..."

Penn State vice president Bill Mahon told the AP earlier this week that Police Chief Steve Shelow had relayed that the case was closed and that no citations were issued.

"There was nothing to pursue," Mahon told the AP on Thursday, without confirming the identity of the driver who was the target of the complaint.

University police do not release names in cases in which no charges are filed.

During a news conference earlier this week, Paterno grew agitated with questions about off-the-field problems surrounding his team.

A reporter asked Paterno to comment on speculation the coach himself "might have been involved in something," to which Paterno replied, "Come on, let's go."

At least he didn’t blame the brake pedal for making his vehicle go twice as fast as it plowed into a car/pole/building. I saw him once while living in this shit hole. I was at an ATM machine and he was walking buy. Some guy said something to him and when he replied I turned and saw him. Uh, yay and stuff.

• So I finally got around to seeing “Wishmaster 2.” I liked it, especially with that goofy white guy being the “costume” for the bad guy. Please note I liked it due to the sheer awfulness of the whole thing. God, I have so many bad horror movies saved up on my DVR it’s not even funny. But do know what was funny? This.

“The South Will Rise Again.”

And sometimes, the IMDB reviews are funnier than any script out there.

Many viewers may be offended by the black humor and straight-up racist jokes that pepper the film's dialogue, but those of you can rest assured that everyone gets their due by the end. It'll be interesting to see how the red states will react to such a searing and scabrous document of the South. Englund seems to imbue Mayor Buckman with a well-judged imitation of President Bush, and even the lives of his two sons in the film appear to closely ape those of the Bush daughters.

The thing about that Joe Pa story that bugs me is that it is not known who was at fault. Everybody's like "Go Joe Pa!, yeah way to go!" Uh, wait a minute, what if he was at fault, then screw the befuddled old fuck.

I've never seen any of the Wishmasters, maybe I'll add it to my list. I've got some tasty stuff lined up for Halloween. Hatchet, The Burning, Halloween 6, Land of the Dead. It doesn't how awful the movies are, just that they are entertaining.

Yeah, Halloween 6 (subtitle =Curse of Michael Meyers) was the last one before H20. I've never seen it, people say that there is a "Producer's Cut" which is supposed to make the movie better. Apparently it was pretty bad when it was released. I'm sure it will suck, but I might as well see it.

I'm really looking forward to "Hatchet". Apparently from the reviews I've seen, it doesn't take itself too seriously, is a throwback to the summer camp slashers of old, has copious amounts of nudity, and is an antidote to the pretentious crap like Hostel and all the other fashionable torture porn out there.
