The wife hates turkey, so I've worked on perfecting the rib roast. Gotten good at it using the low and slow method.

When we talk about Bourdain, I think we can't forget that the sitcom based on his book was actually pretty darn good. Except that it was on Fox. Regarding Tyler's Ultimate, the first season was indeed making "ultimate" versions of classic dishes, with Tyler going to far off places to learn about them. Obviously, since then the budget was cut and he's now just making dishes. It's kinda like how at some point Boy Meets Grill ceased to be a grilling show and focused more on Bobby cooking in the kitchen. Off of TFN: Top Chef is one of my top reality shows. Padma Lashkimi may not be the world's greatest host (although certainly better than the black hole of personality that is Katie Lee Joel) but damn is she hot. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares is definitely superior to Kitchen Nightmares, but that's to be expected, because Fox likes having Brits that yell and insult a lot. I can't wait to see how ABC butchers Top Gear, btw. It's always been this way, even in the original. Obviously, the IC has home field advantage so the judges usually favour them. I say usually because the litmus test in ICA is how they react to Morimoto's food, since he's the most adventurous of the ICs and if you can't appreciate it, you're probably not gonna be back on the show. Case in point, the aforementioned Joel, who apparently failed to understand exactly what Morimoto was doing. You will note that she hasn't judged ICA since, and they've let Mo fricking Rocca on more than once.

I think Good Eats is pretty much in the wheelhouse of people in this forum. As for Giada (who we call Big Head Chick in our house), if I get past the head and hands there's still the fact that she seems really disingenuous when she tastes food in her travel show. I mean Rachael Ray and Fieri go kinda over the top with the tasting, but they really sell it. I don't get that from Big Head Chick. Also, Paris? For a "weekend getaway"? Unless you're rich or work for an airline, seems a bit unrealistic, no? (Note: When I worked for an airline I did, in fact, do a 4-day weekend in London from Houston. Believe me, if I didn't have the flight perks, I wouldn't do it.)

So Sam Mitchell just got fired...

Giada de Laurentis has a huge noggin and man hands. Just saying. They're showing Top Chef: NY on Food Network Canada btw. Also sticking with FN Canada - Anna Olsen is absolutely devoid of personality, so how has she merited three shows?

The roof will be closed. The interior of SkyDome was not designed for shitty weather and stuff like water drainage.

How could this board exist without arguments?

I seriously haven't liked anything that Jones has written, and that does indeed include the Hulk. As for Loeb, well, I don't read Batman, but based on my opinion that Jones sucks hard, he can't be worse.
-
Loeb will never be the worst writer in comics as long as Bruce Jones is around. That guy managed to kill Checkmate in one issue. Also - add Brian Bendis so the running for that vote. See, I can't agree with Bendis, because I feel that he's inconsistent. Some of his stuff is not good - definitely not a fan of Disassembled, but when he's on, he's on. And I feel he's hit his stride with Secret Invasion, not to mention Ultimate Spidey.

Pretty much how I feel. It took me 4 weeks to clinch my division in one fantasy league when my magic number was 1.

And I'm shocked we haven't mentioned that Loeb was a writer during S2 of Lost. Anyway, I'm not sure that Heroes will ever get back to the levels of season one. Did it set expectations too high? Or should we expect some sort of Lost-like renaissance?

It will if the head writers were, you know, fired.

And for the record, Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago and Montreal are all colder.

Row 2, behind the south end zone, baby. Wonder if there'll be a tribute to Ted Rogers?

The same thing they've promised the last two weeks - the shit hits the fan.

Like we don't have enough shows involving the FBI. Although if they could work in a Bones crossover I'd be suitably impressed. Not that I care that much for the show but hey, why not?

This almost makes me a fan of the Cowboys. Almost.

Should Nick and Starr lose it's arguably the biggest Finish Line upset in the history of the Race. Already they've won more legs than anyone else in the history of the show although in terms of overall rankings the Frat Boys (Eric and Jeremy) were still probably better - they finished lower than 2nd ONCE. The way I see it, by making the run to the Finish Line, Dandrew are automatically one of the three worst teams in TAR history. Arguments can be made for all three teams here: - Eric/Danielle (Finished first exactly once, when it counted) - Lyn/Karlyn (basically the same as Dandrew in terms of poor racing, but bitchy instead of plain stupid) - Dan/Andrew (you know) So, yeah, Eric was arguably part of one of the best teams ever and one of the worst teams ever. And yes, I'm rooting for Nick, Starr and Starr's two friends.

10-2. Damn. Why couldn't I do that when I was Tampa?

"I hate to see what happens in the Super Bowl, or I hate to see what happens in the playoffs. You have to settle with a tie." If it comes down to it, I settle things with a coin flip. Seriously. Dude, you need to google news on "Donovan Mcnabb tie game". Everything will then make sense.
-
Being a comics guy it's more likely Loeb stole that from Avengers: The Initiative.

I could've done without him channeling Morpheus from The Matrix. So, what do we call this power shortage? E-Day? I have to admit, the Daphne thing caught me off guard.
-
No, Tara and Wil were a competent team - they tended to perform the tasks efficiently. It's just that Wil was the TAR blueprint for douchery. And aside from losing their clue, they didn't have a history of incompetence like Dandrew have had. Flo, of course, is probably the worst winner ever, but that's just one person, and I think you'll agree Zach carried that team and earned his 500k. Probably most comparable to Dandrew are the Chos or Lyn/Carlyn. But at least the latter two were willing to be CTBs.

The worst Racers to make it this far, certainly. Usually the bad Racers don't make it past the first two legs. At first I thought Dan was goofing around on the Detour. I mean, noone is that uncoordinated, right? Also, $120 for two pairs of shoes is not unreasonable, but not when you're racing. You should be trying to find something cheaper, no? Finally, I love the friendly rivalry between Toni/Dallas and the Sibs. Hopefully neither of these teams make the mistake and it's Dandrew that screw up.
