  1. Well, Boston won and Philly tied, so we have 1. Tampa 2. Boston 3. Philadelphia 4. Toronto 5. Ottawa 6. New Jersey 7. Montreal 8. New York Islanders Let the Battle of Ontario MMIV commence!!
  2. I think it's too close to April 1 for anything to be taken seriously right now.
  3. Comic Book: The Movie - 7/10 Fun stuff, really just a whole mark out disc for comic/animation fans (all the princiapl actors are voiceover artists). Plus cameos by Kevin Smith, Bruce Campbell, Stan Lee, and Hef.
  4. Yes, yes it is. Original Jam, my cousin KILLED people with the Pistons: Thomas and Lambeer. Yes, Lambeer.
  5. Uhh maybe he has it for sentimental value? Or to say he has one of the worst games ever? The only thing I can think of is wrestling game completist...
  6. I'm shocked that you didn't devlop a headache from trying to figure that out. All I know is that the Leafs have home ice against a "dream opponent", either the Habs or the Sens. I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty excited about this.
  7. Actually, the character of Elliott is a gay ACTOR trying to break into the business. Christina Milian is the singer that's trying to break into the business. Interesting side note: I read somewhere that Elmore Leonard was thinking of Rocky when he wrote the character (hey, read the book), so it's kinda ironic that Rocky actually ends up playing him. Anyways, Be Cool will probably be Rock's big "breakthrough" role, as it really doesn't call for him to do a lot of action, and it's definitely a twist on his usual character.
  8. I read about Playmakers getting bumped back a bit. No biggie, as long as it still comes out. Friends Series Finale comes out May 11, a long, long 10 days after it airs...
  9. My love for comics (and del Toro's obvious love for the material) skews me towards Hellboy. Plus, who doesn't want to see Ron Perlman do well?
  10. Pretty much sums it up. Wasting three good actors like that is criminal.
  11. Since I got no love in the music folder (or maybe not enough people care about what happens outside the US), I'll tack this on here as well... Source: The Toronto Star
  12. Yeah, maybe I should have put "Death Metal" in the header...
  13. Well, Avengers/JLA was well worth the wait. Except for maybe the deux ex machina-ish ending, but that's to be expected. For the most part it's just straight up action with George Perez showing exactly how insane he is by drawing HUNDREDS of different characters within a 48-page span, including variations on costumes (and in the case of Beast, secondary mutations. No Original or X-Factor spandex though, as far as I could see). PICK THIS BOOK UP.
  14. Bumblebee would be more like the GBA. And his transformation to Goldbug would be the GBA SP...
  15. Link to the Toronto Star article I guess this is what happens when you don't have as much pull as the RIAA...
  16. Avengers JLA #4 (Of 4), $5.95 (and about fricking time, too) Transformers GI Joe #6 (Of 6), $2.95 and that's about it, really...
  17. Sony is evil too. Actually video games is the Devil when you get right down to it... Video games bad!! Books good!! Eh, maybe not. Truth is I'm not buying an X-Box because I can't be bothered to buy a second system... Now I'd pay to see that (if, you know, it were real). A badass whose grasp on vocabulary is rather minimal, vs a badass who is insane. Yeah, they're gonna be focused on triple word scores the entire time...
  18. Movie/TV agent, I think.
  19. Hey, it's "only" three women. Compared to, say, Evander Holyfield, Murphy's completely faithful... If he was Mormon you would have no problem with it...You ~NON-MORMON-IST Actually, my late maternal grandfather had 5 wives and 14 kids (by only 3 of them though, and I'm Chinese, not Mormon in case you're wondering.), so really, I don't have a problem with having so many kids by so many wives. Except for the fact that I've got something like 100 aunts, uncles and cousins to invite to my wedding. Now, if Murphy had all of these kids out of wedlock/affairs (like Holyfield), then I'd have a problem with it. I'm not really big on cheating on your spouse or not using a helmet if you're single.
  20. If Microsoft weren't evil and trying to rule the world, I buy an X-Box...
  21. Columbia's running a poll to "help" them choose which of their library of shows should be released on DVD. Here are the choices (and there are some good ones too): Action Dark Skies Diff'rent Strokes The Facts of Life Fantasy Island The Flying Nun Grosse Point Hart to Hart I Dream of Jeannie The Naked Truth (which frankly was watchable only because Tea Leoni is cute when she's goofy) Ned and Stacy One Day at a Time Pasadena Police Story The Single Guy The Net The Street Maude T.J. Hooker Mike Hammer Street Time Get a Life (but don't they already have some DVDs out?) Going to California Strong Medicine Give it a vote. I'm putting in one for Action, which never got enough love from the viewing audience...
  22. I heard a clip of our boy this morning, and it was not good. But apparently only Fantasia, Jasmine and George were good anyways. Still, John could be out tonight. The thing is that in order to succeed he HAS to put on at least a 3 star performance every time, while remaking a song to fit him. It's still at a point where popularity can be a difference maker (meaning that I think that Camille will go) but he's gotta step it up.
  23. I just got back from a Walking Tall free preview, and here's a quick analysis: The short version: 6/10, about 75 min (yes, 1 hour 15 minutes. I think a Disney movie is longer) The long(er) version (SPOILERS coming up. Don't look if you don't wanna know): Remember how everything seemed to fall in place with The Rundown? Well, it doesn't seem to do so here. Let's start with the villain(s). Neal McDonough's Jay Hamilton can be described as such - he's rich, therefore he's evil. He of course owns the major industry in the town, has the police in his back pocket and oh by the way, runs a drug ring. Now for the hero. The Rock's Chris Vaughn is an honourably discharged special forces officer who (after finding corruption at the casino, getting beaten up and left for dead, finding out his nephew got drugs from the casino, wrecking the casino and getting acquitted in possibly the most inane movie trial EVER) becomes Sheriff and decides to ruin Rich Bad Guy's life by getting rid of the corruption. This of course, happens in the first 50-55 minutes. The next 5 minutes involve him abusing his power and shagging Ashley Scott (whose role as Danny (hmm) amounts to looking good in a bra, and she does it very well), before the final bit where they blow up stuff and wreck a lot of property. Johnny Knoxville is, well, Johnny Knoxville. I've really no complaints there - you know what you're getting. There's a lot of little things that really don't get followed up in this film, which can probably be attributed to the length. Stuff like a ferry sinking - implying that no help is coming soon, but never said. Or why the Sheriff previous dies, etc. Anyways, it's a fun little movie, but in the end it's not particularly memorable. I'd recommend giving it a pass and waiting for video.
  24. Just got back from "Walking Tall". I'll call it about 6/10, and I guess I'll start another thread about it...
  25. Yep. The only thing that was missing was Orlando Jones...
