Good teams. It's better than the ones that the people at my local newspaper picked. They had David Pollack on like the third team and I quit reading once I noticed that part.

Well I know that it's nothing new but watching it I saw the attitude and lifestyle personified and realized how much I saw it around me. Honestly I like the "cowboy" mentality more than the "thug" mentality. *listens to Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson*

This is amazing. You're basically acting like OU is some DI-AA team that USC can just walk all over. That is not the case. OU's defense is better than you're giving it credit for and the offense is unlike anything USC has seen. OU has more big play recievers than USC has and USC hasn't met a team with as many playmakers as OU has. To say USC will handle OU when they couldn't even handle Standford is pretty fucking absurd. I by no means think OU will manhandle USC but I think they'll win by a TD. So take your anti-OU glasses off and look at the game objectively and realize that neither team has seen a team like the other. And both teams will be tested. However USC has not had to come from behind in an extremely hostile environment against a good team while OU has. USC has made comebacks against bad teams and mediocre teams. Frankly I don't think they can keep up with a fired up OU team.

Not to mention that when there secondary gave up two huge plays they had: -NO Antonio Perkins who is there best secondary player -A shitty player named Eric Bassey out there -A decent player who spent all of last year at Junior College in San Fran with a knee injury named Chijoke Oynegecha Once they got rid of Bassey and put that Walker kid in....wow no holes and no more big plays. Once Perkins came back....wow no huge passing plays given up. The secondary you base your opinion off of is not OU's secondary. It was a shitty collection of players b/c there best man was injured. Fact is USC has not seen a team like OU. They saw Cal but OU is worlds better than Cal. And USC had trouble at home against Cal. OU is much better than Cal and they will be at a neutral site. So come back with an analysis that doesn't ignore obvious facts. "OU's secondary sucks!" "They were missing there best player and had a really bad one in there. When the replaced that bad one it tightened up." "Ummm......ummm........OU's secondary sucks!"

Ok I didn't really know what to call them. But what does everyone think of the modern "cowboy" attitude that I've seen around. I mean I know this isn't just a southwestern thing. These guys are on TV to. I'm not talking about guys that walk around in tight jeans with a cowboy hat on. I'm talking about guys with the redneck attitude that think they can do whatever, they're always kind of grungy, they're always drinking or dipping and just have this hot shit attitude about them. But it's not like a cocky attitude. And these people don't have to be from the Southwest. They can come from anywhere. The reason I ask is that I saw a play tonight by Sam Sheperd called "True West" about a couple of guys with this attitude. Someone else may be able to describe it better than me. I mean Kid Rock thinks he has this attitude and style down.... But I was just wondering what everyone on the board thinks of these people? And if anyone is one of these people? I mean do you know anybody that you could see being in a western?

I'm hoping that I get some sort of another NBA pre-season game in OKC next season so that I can interview one of them in the locker room or whatever. That'd be awesome. The Big XII B-ball tourney will be in OKC next year I believe. So maybe I can get there and interview players from all the teams. I wish I had a professional team but apparently the market here is to small....even though people in Oklahoma are insane about sports. We could support a hockey team or a basketball team. Hell if we had a bigger park we could have a baseball team. Honestly though I don't know where we'd put a football team b/c I can't think of anywhere in OKC where they could fit a stadium b/c the place has been so built up and packed with shit over the years that you can't walk 2 feet without hitting a building.

Do a lot of the big time athletes have a crew that follows them around? You know guys that are only friends with them b/c of who they are and just generally act like assholes b/c of who there friend is?

Nope. I never said his name. As a matter of fact I was going to read everyone else's posts and ask questions and not relate any of my experiences. So nope you're wrong. Like I said earlier. Everyone complains about me talking about OU and such but when I don't mention them or get upset on something in relation to them everyone trolls me to try and get a rise. So people in big time sports markets....who have you met? Make with some stories. I figure if you had an MLB team you'd have met them b/c I understand those guys are pretty visible throughout town.

Ok with college football coming down to the wire and the NFL doing the same everyone may be a little on edge. So I'm making this post so everyone can recount memories of stars that they've met that were pretty cool. What sports stars have you met that were nice to you or you even talked to for a while? Who was a complete ass? Any cool autographs? The only stars I've met are the OU football players. Not having a professional team I don't really get to see any big time athletes around here. Although I'm hoping that whenever I start writing for the OU Daily I'll meet some. My editor said he interviewed Kobe Bryant when they were in OKC.

Ok. Anyways most of these taste like shit anyways. I've never tried the Holiday Spice. The Pepsi Blue reminded me of cough syrup. Mountain Dew....well I hate Mountain Dew. I never drank Crystal Pepsi. I guess the one that I really hated the most was the Red Fusion Dr. Pepper. What was that stuff supposed to be anyways? Uncarbonated Dr. Pepper?

You can give a knock on any of them. Hell I can think of obvious knocks on my own guys. Like with Jason White you gotta ask yourself "Is it him or those recievers?" b/c he has one of the best recieving groups in the country. I mean I know a lot of it is him but he is helped by all of those recievers. Course if you ask him he'll claim it's all the recievers b/c he's one of those "I'm not very good, I'm just lucky to have who I have" kind of people. And then with Peterson you have to wonder if it's him or the O-Line. I mean we can tell a lot of it is him(especially by that run against OSU where he looked to be down and spun out and broke it for 80 yards, and then the run against Colorado where he broke 6 tackles) and I guess we'll find out with Peterson next year when 3 of those O-Lineman including All-Americans Jammal Brown and Vince Carter graduate. But yeah you can knock all of them. Oh and 2GOLD I know about the Heisman curse that's why I said it's good for Sooner fans the Leinart won. Now maybe he'll underperform or get driven by Dan Cody. I still think he hasn't had a guy like Cody get there hands on him.

What is with all of the different flavored sodas? I have a friend that always drinks that shit. Everytime a new flavor comes out he's all over it and drinks it until he's burnt out. He loved that Sprite Remix which tasted like shit, all the Pepsi and Coke drinks, and all the Mt. Dew drinks. I don't like any form of Mountain Dew though so I haven't tried the others.

It honestly doesn't look as bad as everyone is saying that it is. I'll wait for video just b/c I'm strapped for cash though.

You know I was thinking. If Rodgers were to stay and Leinart were to come out then do you think that Cal would be favored to win the Pac 10 over USC? Or do you think USC would still be the team in that conference?

Why didn't Champ Bailey get into the running the final year he was in college? Never did understand that. Don't you know? Defensive players don't win games and thus can't be the most outstanding player! Duh? *that was sarcasm by the way for you people that take EVERYTHING i say seriously*

He needs to practice stalking Rhett Bomar or whatever that freshmen QB's name is. Well seems how I'm on the paper and get to go to the press conferences and get to be on the sidelines during games I shouldn't have any problem talking to any players. On top of that I don't think he'll be the starting QB next season. I think that honor will go to Paul Thompson. I find it funny that everyone complains about the reactions I have to OU and everyone is annoyed by it. But when OU doesn't win something and I express that I don't care and agree with the winner everyone starts making fun of me to try and get the rise out of me.

He doesn't have a dorm, he has a pretty big house. My friend lives next door. I just thought it was weird that Leinart and White were all buddy/buddy. I just didn't expect it.

Well they were saying Leinart could be a first rounder if he comes out. Which he said this morning on one of the NFL pre-game shows that he was coming out.

There's a dinner on Monday for the new winner and all the former winners get to come. White will be there hanging out. So I don't think he really cares. Hell they're reporting on ESPN.com that he was telling Leinart to prepare his acceptance speech before the show started. I dunno. White and Leinart are both kind of similar in that neither of them is really a pretty boy. They're both kind of tough looking and grungy and both are damn good. So that makes the Orange Bowl so much better. Oh and does everyone think Leinart bolts for the NFL or hangs around? I say he runs and becomes a first round draft pick. Hell even if the Trojans lose the title game(which they will ) he's still got a good enough work ethic and enough talent to impress everyone at the combine.
