  1. Tennessee: It's interesting to see how Tennessee fans view their program since Phil Fulmer won them a National Title in 1998. You would think the Vols have had two straight horrendous seasons the last two years based on the amount of pressure Fulmer is under. It's true, in their last two bowls they have been noncompetitive getting blown out by both Maryland and Clemson. Tennessee has not been as dominant as their National Title team but has now been to 15 straight bowl games, a school record and the longest streak in the SEC. They did have a streak of 7 straight Jan 1 bowl games snapped in 2002. Over their last nine years the Vols are 59-16 in conference play(best in SEC). Last season they tied for first in the SEC East and finished regular season #6 in the AP poll and still did not get a BCS game. They ended Miami's 26 game home win streak, but somehow fell all the way down to the SEC's #5 bowl. Last year they had to replace 8 NFL DC's which tied Miami for the most and had just 11 starters back. This year they have just 9 straters back. On defense they lose 4 of their top 6 tacklers, while on offense, QB Clausen must be replaced. The difference between Tennsessee appearing in the SEC title game and finishing #5 in the bowl slot was probably one play against Georgia. This Vol team, despite only 9 starters back, could be on of the surprise teams in the country as most of their SEC road games are winnable and they have 7 home games. The key could be Oct 9th on the road vs. an extremely loaded Georgia team. Despite this clearly being a rebuilding year fo the Vols, I feel they've underachieved the last two season and they have 14 player on my all-conf team which is the most in the league. There is a possibility they could be favored in 10 of their 11 games this year and should ahve a better season than most people will forecast.
  2. Who saw Dodgeball? That was quite possibley one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long........long time. Thoughts?
  3. Ok guys I picked it up. Phil Steele's College Football Preview vol. 10. They have several different regional covers. They have an ACC, Pac 10, Big 10, Big XII, SEC, Alabama/Auburn, Texas, Florida, and National covers. I got the National Cover which features the Orange Bowl Logo in the middle of the cover and says "Who will be #1?" and around the logo are Matt Leinhart of USC, Jason White of Oklahoma, and Corey Webster of LSU. Alright here's the deal. If you want to know what he says about your team ask me. And I will type up his final thoughts. I'm not going to give you the full page read where he tells you about the QB's, O-Line, and so on. But I'll give you his final thoughts. Here's Phil's Forecast for Oklahoma: In 2000 Oklahoma did not have a single starter miss a single game due to injury and benefited from +7 in turnovers. They stunned the nation by winning the National Title despite not being ranked in the Preseason Top 20. Oklahoma actually went 6-2 in conf play in both 2001 and 2002 not even getting to the Big 12 Title Game. After the regular season last year, there was talk about whether Oklahoma belonged among the NCAA's best ever. They simply destroyed foes and in Big 12 play outscored foes by an amazing average score of 51.5-11.3 and outgained them by 266.6 ypg!!! There was talk prior to the Big 12 title game that they could lose and still get to the National Title game. As a result the Sooners came out a little flat and were crushed by Kansas St. They then were beaten in the Sugar Bowl by LSU for a stunning 12-2 finish. When I look at this year's Sooner team my first reaction is WOW! This is the 10th edition of my preseason magazine and the Sooners are clearly the best team I have analyzed heading into the preseason. They have 17 starters back including Heisman Trophy winner Jason White and rank in the Top 20 in all 8 position categories. Showing there dominace, OU has an amazing 11 players on my 1st team All Big 12 squad. While the Sooners have had their slip ups in the past years, this year they could easily go 11-0 and then win the Big 12 Title Game solidly. I see the Sooners not only getting to but winning the Orange Bowl and bringing home Stoops' second National Title. And under his preseason Top 40 he ranks Oklahoma #1 and says Last year the Sooners were being called the greatest team of all-time in college football after a dominating 12-0 regular season but came up short in the postseason. Only one team in the country ranks in my Top 25 in all 8 positiong categories and that is the Sooners. This is the 10th year of my college football preview magazine and this Oklahoma team is is the most talented team I have evaluated in the preseason in that span. They have 17 starters back including the 2003 Heisman Trophy winner. They have my #1 rated offense and my #2 rated defense this year and if they maintain fairly good health will be at least a TD favorite in every one of their games. The Sooners last won a National Title at the Orange Bowl and hope to return there this season. I will call for the Sooners to go undefeated and possibly be the greatest team ever in College Football. I know that he's just giving his honest opinion....but damn I'm afraid he may jinx us.
  4. Yes......notice my gigantic manly ape hands engulfing her entire shoulder region.
  5. Actually that's an opinion. And, athough Detroit has nothing to celebrate for other than this trophy, neither does L.A, so that was an odd statement. Is that Detroit < Los Angeles thing referring to the cities as a whole or the basketball teams? Because if it's referring to the basketball teams then I think we've already realized that Detroit is better. If it's referring to the city as a whole well then.......ah there both pretty big hell holes, I wouldn't want to live in either one.
  6. If i were the Rockets I would make this trade in about 4 seconds. Yeah but I'd try to find a way to hold onto Francis. Imagine that lineup......Francis, T-Mac, and Yao.
  7. Nah Slayer. That's one of my teammates girlfriends.
  8. Here's me looking like a date rapist sneaking up on a girl.....
  9. Mike Williams was allowed back into USC as far as I know.
  10. Don't forget they held the Lakers to an all time playoff low and then turned around 2 games later and broke that record.
  11. Well I know if Bob Stoops doesn't win the National Title all the bandwagoners in Oklahoma will be screaming for his firing. That pisses me off so much. He's one of the if not THE best coach in college football. He has 4 years where he doesn't win a national title and people call for his firing. I wasn't around at the time but I wonder if people went crazy and wanted Barry Switzer fired when he didn't win. He's been coaching in Oklahoma for 5 years and has never had a losing season. He's only lost like 2 games at home in those 5 years. Get over it bandwagoners. He's a good coach. Anyways I think Mack Brown would be fired...he will never beat Oklahoma....never.
  12. I still want a movie stars reaction to the series! Oh what's wrong Leo? Did the series not come back through LA so you could get on camera for being just an "average joe sports fan!"??? I'm sorry. Do you even know what basketball is? *pictures Sharon Stone at game* "Whoo! Way to go Shaq! Touchdown!"
  13. So who will remember this Finals in 10 years? If Detroit becomes a dynasty and LA slumps I know I will. Hell with my intense Laker hatred I'll probably always remember it. Plus I've never had a team MAKE me a fan of theirs. With Detroit I didn't really care for them one way or another going into The Finals but they MADE me like them. It was hard not to.
  14. I don't think the KSU game will be tough for the simple fact that OU has a history of coming back the next year and destroying the teams that beat them. At least recently. Look what they did to OSU and A&M this year! The game that worries me for OU is the OSU game. They've proven it's tough to win in Stillwater. Then again without Josh Fields and Rashaun Woods.....
  15. Are you serious with your predictions? No way Florida makes it to the title game. Texas won't be anywhere near a BCS bowl. But they may be able to play Tennessee in a lesser bowl. Alabama won't make it to the BCS where Oklahoma will assuredly be sitting no matter what. And Nebraska will probably get nowhere near the BCS while Miami will most definetly be there.
  16. USC vs Florida Texas vs Tennessee for the rights to wear orange and the use of T Michigan vs LSU OU vs Alabama FSU vs THE Ohio State Miami vs Nebraska Teams to be ignored because they all have 1 or 2 loses against teams they should of beaten from smaller conferences: Washington, Kansas State, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan State. OU vs. Alabama? In what? I don't know what Alabama will be worth and most people I've heard are picking the Orange Bowl to be OU vs. USC. Though personally I'm pulling for OU vs. Miami.
  17. Well I know they are that good. I'm there biggest fan on this board. I go to there freaking school and play another sport for the same school. But I just don't like it when people start spouting off "best team ever" until all is said and done. I made the mistake of saying it last year and look what happened! I know how good they are and I personally do feel they should be #1 in every poll again. But I don't want anyone saying "best team ever" until they finish the season and there stats and performance are better than 1995 Nebraska. And I don't actually have the preview. It was read to me over the radio. But I'm going to go to the mall tonight and see if I can grab it.
  18. What? '96 Bulls? Yeah, thanks. What about them? I think he's trying to say they were better than the Yankees.....or something.....even though they're different sports and I don't think you can compare.....maybe he wants to see a baseball game between the 96 Bulls and 98 Yankees?
  19. So my team is getting jinxed. Damn. No seriously has anybody picked up the College Football preview that's out now? In it the writer says something to the degree of "Oh well OU is the best team I've checked out in the preseason in the past 8 years. I have them ranked #1 and i think they'll dominate there conference and title game and then easily win the national title. Oh by the way when all is said and done I think everyone will be saying they're the greatest college football team of all time!" Now that's all well and good sir. I'm glad you feel that way about my team but......ARE YOU TRYING TO JINX US!? God damn. Everyone started saying that last year(even me) and they got whipped by 28 points in there conference title game! God! I now expect them to get shut out by Houston at the start of the season! Or Bowling Green! Hell they may even get shut out by Baylor! Anyways.....anyone seen the preview? Anyone believe in jinx's and has had your team praised like that only to see them fail immediately? Share your jinx stories!
  20. ESPN was asking "Will this be remembered as The Finals that The Pistons won or The Lakers lost?" and I was like "Well most will remember it as the one the Pistons won if you assholes would shut the hell up about The Lakers and what they didn't do! Let's talk about what Detroit did!" I mean they do but not nearly as much as they discuss The Lakers. I still think they need to get a movie star reaction from this.....I want to see how many of those biatches at games actually know what's going on.
  21. Honestly other than damaramallama, we anti Laker fans haven't been too bad. So don't group us all in with damaramallama. Celtics weren't the only team to give up on Billups and not give Ben Wallance a chance. Hey! I think next to LA Oklahoma has the highest number of annoying Lakers fans in the country. Seriously I've listened to these people all season go on about how divinely great The Lakers are. And they aren't cool fans like VitaminX. It's like an onslaught of Orale's! So I finally get to throw it back in there face now that there team got dominated and goes back to LA with bootmarks on there ass! That's the excuse for my sore winning.
  22. I first read it in an interview a couple of years ago, after Wallace got his first DPOY. He also confessed in that interview that he's closer to 6'6" than his "program" height of 6'9". Well I'm 6'4" and Wallace looks a lot taller than me. I can only lay it up. I can't dunk. I can't even get up as high as that fool. Then again his vertical leap is probably over 40(or 50?) while mine sits at a nice and easy 28 or so. I wish I had a leap like some of these guys. Is that something that comes naturally or is there a way to work out and get a high leap? Who is the shortest member of the Piston's starting line up? Hamilton? They're all tall motherfuckers anyways. Especially Prince. That dude's arms are smaller than mine but his hand could probably engulf my head.
  23. I like that. Because it makes me think of The Lakers as this big giant that was getting wailed on but couldn't do anything about it and had to sit there and try to get it's hands up to stop the beating. They were helpless! They were a school bully that got punched in the face by the nerd and realized that he had nothing on this kid. It was glorious.
  24. So everyone.....what do you think? Who has the best chance to win the title next year? The Pistons with everyone back? A healthy T-Wolves? A revigorated Spurs? I know one thing. After this year The Western conference better learn defense or they'll get eaten for lunch.
  25. Can we ban him for rampant trolling yet? He's like a bad mix of Johnson and rawmvp. A Lakers fan that makes asinine claims and then when called on it says "Haha guys! Just kidding!" What fucked up mad scientist decided to splice there DNA?
