  1. They do harp on the one big play against OU he made. But it's true these days. You don't need to be really consistent to win a Heisman. Just make a ton of highlight plays in big games and it's basically yours. Or put up absurd numbers even if they don't mean as much. Hell ND could go 9-3 or 10-2 this year and Quinn would still win it b/c his numbers will be absurd even if he doesn't come through in the huge games. On that same token all AD needs is some huge highlight runs against Oregon, Texas, and probably Texas A&M and he's got it.
  2. Ok so back when I was in HS and the beginnings of college and I didn't live with my girlfriend I had all this time to play video games. I didn't have any bills and loads of free time. So I was able to just buy every system and a bunch of games and enjoy myself. So I now have the PS2, Gamecube, and X-Box. And the next gen for all these systems are coming out. And now I'm thinking "Do I really need all of them?" I played the shit out of my PS2 when I got it. That thing was wore out so bad that the controller cord is falling apart. But since I got my X-Box 3 years ago it's barely seen any action except to play RPGs or old PS1 games. My X-Box meanwhile has gotten the brunt of my attack for the last 3 years. I've gone through 3 controllers with this thing. The only problem is that I really only play football games on it now and the occasional other game. But I don't have time like I used to. I can't sit and play through a game in a week or a couple of days and get a new one. I'm currently moving through Prince of Persia 2 at a slow crawl. And I don't even really want to finish it b/c I think it's crappy(after loving the first) but my sense of duty to finish a game I paid money for is making me play it. When I buy NCAA 07 I'm sure I'll forget it. Hell I've had Shenmue II since I bought the X-Box. It gets played every now and then. And then I have my poor Gamecube which has really not gotten the playing time it deserves. I barely play it. I only play it when we play big multiplayer games or when I played Zelda Windwaker. And RE4. Other than that the system has sat neglected and ignored. I don't want to have 1,000 bucks worth of next gen gaming systems that I never play. Anyone else experienced this as they grew up or are growing up? A lack of time to play these games? No longer a need for every video game system? My OCD makes me want to buy them all and I obsess over if I should or not. My new plan is to wait for them all to come out and decide which one is best instead of just buying them all now. That should work out for me. But yeah the whole point of this thread was to get that off my chest and ask if anyone else has experienced this. A bunch of video game sytems that never get played and you realize "Well I'm growing up. I only have time for one system and one game at a time." Also as a sidenote. When I considered myself a "serious gamer" and what not I scoffed at the people that just played sports video games. I had my RPGs. Now I never play RPGs(no decent ones out especially after the destruction of the FF series, and i don't have time to devote 60 hours to a game) and all I play is sports games. I've become what I used to scoff at!
  3. That's kind of funny. One of the guys has this weird thing to say about the whole White/Leinart 2003 and 2004 thing. So that's what he says about White. Surprisingly White wasn't on all the lists when I figured he would be. But then he turns around and says this: Odd. Figured if you were going to say Leinart didn't deserve it that year(he did deserve it and so did Peterson. but you can't give it to 2 guys) then you'd think he would say Peterson should've gotten it over Leinart.
  4. I was unaware that Benson had never been hit at Texas. He made it through 4 years in college without ever getting hit. In the NFL he seems to get broken anytime anyone touches him.
  5. We need a before pic! You know Donnie(and please don't take offense to this) you look like one of those redneck g'd up guys. I figured you might be b/c you live in Kentucky and living in Oklahoma I've seen plenty.
  6. So what is missing from the 360 version?
  7. Ok so I'm getting some extra cash and considering buying an X-Box 360. But I want NCAA 07 as well. But I'd heard that the 360 version of the game was missing a ton of stuff and the only thing it really had on the regular X-Box version is good graphics. I don't care about that. I want all the features and game modes. So should I get the X-Box version?
  8. This game doesn't seem like it'll be to good. I thought Robert Gallery was supposed to be like a huge star and unbeatable lineman? Is he even that great? I like Udeze(is that how you spell it?). He looks like he's in way better shape than he was in college. Help me USC fans, I seem to recall him having a little bit of a paunch and I don't remember his arms being that jacked. That's what the average joe blow who wants to lose weight needs....an NFL strength and conditioning coach to be their trainer.
  9. But I thought Mike Williams was the next Randy Moss? That was said so many times during his final college season and when he was drafted. Who the fuck said he was the next Randy Moss? Because he's nothing like Randy Moss. I seem to recall hearing something like that from Kiper. Maybe it was someone else though. Yeah it was Kiper. He has weight problems? I guess I just don't keep up with my Lions football(wait who does?). I didn't know he had weight problems. I didn't know WRs ever had weight problems. I figured with all the running that they kept the weight off.
  10. But I thought Mike Williams was the next Randy Moss? That was said so many times during his final college season and when he was drafted.
  11. What happened with Mike Williams in Detroit? Something about being moved down the depth chart or benched or something? I caught a glimpse of it a few days ago on OTL. I've heard some people already labeling him with the big B word. It's only his second season for gods sake! That word gets thrown around too much. Who is Detroit's #1 WR? Roy Williams?
  12. What's the date of this one? I need to ask off work.
  13. Hey I'm working on it! I have a spinach salad for lunch nearly everyday now and usually chicken and veggies for dinner. Last summer I fit comfortably into a 3x shirt. Then over the winter it was a 2x that was a big snug. The other day I went to try on a 2x and a friend remarked "That shirt is way too big for you" So I tried on an XL. And it was like a light shining from the heavens as I tried it on and it fit more perfect than any t-shirt ever. I don't know if I can ever wear a large though b/c my shoulders are already broader than a barn.
  14. He does look like an odd cross between Matt Hughes and Vanilla Ice.....
  15. Texas QB hooking up with an OU WR? Madness!
  16. He didn't suit up. They showed him standing on the sidelines in the first quarter with a t-shirt on. Young ran pretty well. He won't be able to do the "OMG Young burns the whole defense and scores!" type shit but he'll be able to pick up the 1st when needed. And of course his completion percentage will get better. He's got Chow. And it's not like he'll start anyway.....hopefully not.
  17. I thought White wasn't suited for this game. Did he put pads on at halftime?
  18. Reggie Bush is really good. Yet everytime he gains a yard in the NFL a piece of me dies. I'll be dead and buried by the end of preseason.
  19. Looking at the stats online Vince Young's completion percentage is crap but he's rushing the ball just fine. And people said he wouldn't be able to make plays with his legs in the NFL. So how does he look overall? Does he look like he has a shot to develop?
  20. Really? How much? Anyway I have the workout plan I'm going to work on all layed out and I'll give it a shot on my next lifting day. And I put down the calf raises, bicep curls, and tricep extensions as optional because I'll only do them if I have time or feel like it. I'm hardcore concentrating on my chest, back, and shoulders. I'm doing stuff for legs but they get a ton of workout running and doing kickboxing. It sucks only being able to lift on Tuesday and Thursday and having kickboxing Monday and Wednesday. It means that I don't really get much muscle workout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Oh well I can still run. Also does anyone know a lot about dieting? On that website I've been using it said not to use low calorie diets because if you go too low then your metabolism will slow down and you'll pretty much be back where you started.
  21. I don't know if I mentioned this earlier but I wrote that paper about how weed should be legalized and turned it in and I got it back. It was all marked up from the teacher, she left a ton of comments. When I saw all the red I thought "Shit she thinks I'm a pothead and failed me." Turns out I got a 50 out of 50 on it and all the comments were agreeing with me and adding to my various points. The best one she wrote was where I put down that if you buy it off the street instead of in a shop then who knows what the fuck you're getting in it. And she goes "Exactly. That's why people don't buy moonshine!" I had a friend that was all down on people that smoked weed because he was like "Its bad because it's a drug and they need it and it's not good....blah blah blah." Then I told him that I take a sleeping pill nearly ever night to sleep and at this point I'm probably more dependent on it than actually needing it. And he said "Well that's something you bought at the store." And I was like "Well actually it's all herbal....just like weed. And it has an effect on my body. Just like weed." That shut him up for a bit.
  22. Because I was told they were hard to add mass too and I thought they were a pretty important part of leg strength. Besides I pity the way they are only doing bicep curls so that they can be like "look at my guns!" while the rest of their body is neglected. Nobody walks up and lifts there jeans and goes "Look at these guns on my legs! Yeah!" That's not why I'm doing it.
  23. Yeah but I can never seem to feel the bench press in my chest. Just my arms. Ditto for the seated row. And I'm doing the row exactly as directed. I even had someone at the gym show me how to do it right. What about the lower back? I assume the row works it but what else is a good exercise for it? Aside from the reverse sit ups thing. Since I'm still playing around with things I think next time I go in I'll concentrate heavily on my chest, back, and shoulders. I'll still do my leg exercises(they do get worked with everything else i do though) and then maybe some curls with light weight but if I don't get around to working the biceps and triceps then I won't worry too much. I have always pitied the fools that spend hours on their biceps and then they do like one exercise for everything else(and don't even do legs) and then leave.
  24. Maybe he meant that b/c most Judo is really difficult to do without a gi? Anyway I see what you're saying. And I hate doing biceps and triceps anyway so I will probably take your advice. I know one thing. My back and dorsi muscle got one HELL of a workout doing the seated row yesterday because today it's sore. Hey what's a good exercise for the lower back? Or will that get worked out doing other things and because the rest of my back is getting a workout doing the seated row it'll be ok?
  25. So what was up with the fight at Titans camp?
