I read about Ann Miller the other day, but didn't think enough people would care about her here to post it. I think it felt kind of bland and generic compared to a lot of the stuff he did last year. Like the running for Congress and slow motion bits were very meh. I do applaud Dave for smoking on t.v. I don't smoke, but I would if I was on telelvision to fuck with the tight ass self righteous. The Samuel Jackson beer and racial draft stuff made me chuckle, but I don't think this was a really strong kick off to the season. I would like to have seen a skit with one of the long running characters. At least there was no rap act to eat up the last five minutes.

They've been trying to get this movie off the ground for the past couple of years now. Early on it was Stiller's real life parents, Jerry and Anne Meara, slated to play his parents in the movie. My guess would be that they didn't think they were big enough names and parrying Hoffman with DeNiro again is good for box office.

Give them time. Although, both did under perform at the box office and the success of another installment doesn't look to be that great. I think it would also be hard to get most of the casts back as their prices have gone up. It's not feasible.
