oh, lol no. i got my degree at pitt and got computer classes paid for by the us government through like, some random vendor. they shipped us down to atlanta for two weeks and had us take a battery of classes to get mcse/mcsa and security+. if i was gonna stay with my company much longer, they might pay for me get my cissp and ceh certs, but i'd rather torture myself in the marine corps.

yeah... like i said, go through the contracting companies. if you go straight to the government, it's freaking hard to get a job a lot of times. contracting companies, hell, they'll hire anyone. in my field, companies like raytheon, general dynamics, etc. are good places to look. just do a little research and find what contractors the agencies you're looking into use.

For those of you who haven't been watching, William Jefferson -- yes, this William Jefferson -- has been knocked out of his Congressional seat by Republican Joseph Cao, even though his district is 28 points more Democratic than the rest of the country on average according to the Cook Partisan Voting Index (for reference). Three cheers for karma. Hope you enjoy your jail cell, douche. So now, the final election this year -- to my knowledge -- left to be settled is MN-SEN, which is still very much up in the air. According to the count by the Minnesota Star-Tribune, Coleman is up 300 votes after the recount, not counting challenged ballots (each campaign can challenge a ballot for any reason -- reports out of MN are that Coleman is challenging more liberally than Franken, but that remains to be seen). The Franken campaign alleges that, given the determinations by the original recounters, his campaign is up by 4 votes. That remains to be seen, and the board that will count the challenged ballots will meet on the 15th, I believe. So, Democrats could have 59 seats in the Senate including Sen. "It's All About Me" Lieberman (Douche-CT) when this is all said and done. But, I'm happier that enough crossover Dems voted for Cao to get rid of that incredible shitbag, Jefferson. So much for black people voting for black people no matter what.

you can upgrade the gpu easily, just not the cpu. the problem is basically that it won't be able to recognize the architecture. it's the same as if you'd yet an old intel board and try to throw a penryn core 2 duo in it; it won't read it right. at best, it'll clock it down to the last gen architecture that board supports and at worst, you won't boot at all.

i've got a history/polysci degree, so yeah. if you've got a BA, it'll be easy to get in.

more likely though, nothing will happen. a lot of the scoring drop can be attributed to the fact that defense has simply adapted to not being able to clutch and grab. now, they just interfere a lot (see: 2007 detroit red wings)

you can get the data physically recovered off of the disk if you want to spend a lot of money. if not, just suck it up and deal. most data recovery software is a scam, so i wouldn't go that route.

actually, meh, judging by the size of your monitor and inability to upgrade your cpu, go for something like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814121289 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130377 i own the latter card. i have it in an old ass AMD64 3800+ build with a 1920x1200 monitor, and it runs most games at pretty high settings at native resolution and i have no complaints. great card. the ati model is supposedly very good as well. either one would do you well. most games are gpu intensive anyways, so i wouldn't worry too much about the cpu, but you still won't be able to play some games (the new gta iv, for one)

you're probably not gonna be able to do much of a cpu upgrade because it's a dell. they are notoriously stingy with their bios, so it's not gonna recognize it if you toss a core 2 duo in there or something. a gpu is much more likely to be a source for an upgrade, and you can probably upgrade that pretty easily. what's your budget? you might have to upgrade your power supply too, depending on what kind of gpu you get.

avery's a douche, obviously. but claiming that he was suspended for his own good or some shit (which is an argument i've read in several places, not just here) is just asinine. he probably says muuuuch worse crap on the ice and clearly has not been bertuzzi'd to this point. of all the averyisms, this is the mildest -- and actually, one i admire, to an extent. avery does try to make it all about him wherever he goes, which is annoying. but, he does his job if phaneuf even takes one jackassed penalty because of the sloppy seconds comment. the refs aren't gonna even up the penalties if phaneuf headhunts him just because avery said something before the game.
