I'll agree with you that the Pats have a good chance at knocking off the Steelers. I won't agree that the Eagles have that same chance. The Eagles are too thin-skinned up front to deal with a physical attack. They can't beat any physical, running team in the playoffs.

They were the second titlehoders for the tag straps (I believe) and were essentially unbeatable for a period of about a year in the fed's first year. Before J&R came around, they were easily the most dominant team to ever grace the federation. Both went on to have pretty damned successful singles careers, as well. Divefire's allure, though, is that he was the only person to straight up, without controversy, defeat Stubby. He was the world champion for about three months before he gave up the title to run the fed when Jayson G quit, and he went on to hold the world title again, I believe, but I may be mistaken on that fact. His legacy was marred by a few mini-comebacks when he didn't have enough time to write, and also by our Savior/Prophet angle which never panned out and ended up making the 10 stupidest moments in SWF history. But nonetheless, his accomplishments in his prime -- including running the fed and running it well for four or so months after the first owner/commissioner quit -- should make him a shoo-in for the hall of fame. The current voters, however, don't know enough about him to actually vote for him, it seems.

Out of curiosity, if you're putting Z in for running the fed, why doesn't Divefire get it for running the fed and winning the world title and being in the most successful tag team in IGN/SWF history (DVD)? I'm pushin' for my friend and all, I know, and I don't want to cause trouble or anything. But you should give the guy his props by the same logic you gave it to Z. Maybe next year.

I already did it on April Fools Day this year. But then some morons jumped on the bandwagon and ruined it.

Yeah, no doubt. I'm not saying it would've swung the election, don't get me wrong. However, there's significant evidence that there was fraud and some irregularities, and thus, to say that there is NO FRAUD STOP TALKING PLZ is just silly. This was a far closer election than some of you (not you, Cerebus) are claiming it was.

Well, there WAS that little circumstance of a thousand or so extra votes going to Bush in a suburb of Cincinatti this year... Trust me, there's evidence of fraud. How much or how relevant the evidence is, we'll never know since Kerry conceded.

Yeah, I'd say that people complaining about exit polls being "insignificant" have no basis for complaint here. 11% is a huge margin. -

Pitt's making the Fiesta Bowl is following my first year trend :/ I lost two games that season (vs. Pitt's 3, but nonetheless) and snuck into the top 25 at the end of the year. The next year, they won the national championship. Let's hope reality imitates art in this case -

How much did the exit polls say the pro-American candidate won by, though. -

I'm basically saying this for the sake of argument, obviously. And it's clear that Texas had a much better season than Pitt. But considering the progression of that team in terms of their passing game and defense, it's a far better team than people are giving them credit for. What's scary is that Palko is just starting to get the offense. He's going to be a force next year, if Pitt can surround him with a little talent. Greg Lee should progress a bit, but he's no stud; hopefully, they'll be able to recruit some reciever or tight end talent to give him a chance to succeed. -
It'd be nice if everyone could chip in and buy Mike a new insult.

Well, if Texas could win their conference, I'm sure they'd be more than deserving. -

Maybe, maybe not. But you sure as hell can't prove it. -

I'm telling you, don't sleep on Pitt. You're completely missing the point that they're a young team with a blue chip quarterback who is only getting better. The team is a far better team than they were earlier in the season, and if they beat SF and win the BCS bid, I wouldn't be shocked to see them knock off Utah or whomever is likely to go in the Fiesta. And that'll be a godsend for Pitt's recruiting, too. My NCAA 2005 dynasty's projection is right on schedule... -

Pitt's a LOT better of a team than when they almost lost to Furman. Palko was as green as they come at that point, and dumbass Walt Harris wasn't even letting him run the offense. Now, they've started to click and they could surprise someone if they end up with the Big East's bid. -
I'm thankful for Ben Roethlisberger, who was the missing piece in what was a terrible team last year. Those of you who assume that the Steelers have been godly on defense and offense for years are delusional. This team caught a spark when he came on the field.

I'm ambivilant towards pretty much everyone on this board, so I find it hard to hate you in particular. Especially when I agree with you on a lot of things. Although, I do think you're a horrific asshole for having compared me to Mike.
