I haven't timed myself in ages, and when I did, it was only in the 40 yard dash. In that, I got a 4.65. I run distance now, but mostly just for fitness. I'm more concerned with final distance than the time I accomplished it in.

It's likely just AOL, pop up ads, etc. However, you could always go through the list of Spybot, Ad-Aware, etc. to try and fix any potential issues.

I dunno, I don't think it's that much different than Halo 1... I mean, it's still fun to get a huge group of people playing, but I find it to be rather underwhelming considering the hype. Still fun, but disappointing.

You're also forgetting Dean's success in getting people elected. He didn't campaign very hard for Kerry; his PAC took on 12 candidates for lower offices and won 9 of them; they were state legislature candidates mostly, and the initiative turned out to be a smashing success. In time, you'll see that if he gets this job, the Democratic party will be back in good shape by the time his term is over.

And Dean would have little influence on the party's message to anyone except talk shows (providing an alternatve voice) and fundraisers.

Well, I didn't have to do much work in this thread. Needless to say, I think he'd do a damned good job in this role and it would alleviate the pressure on him from supporters of his organization to run again in 2008, which would be a bad idea in my opinion.

The information, though, is most definitely not feasibly available to the federal government. To the feds, the only form of ID they have available is a passport, which is easily forgeable.

The only thing I can think people would be concerned about in terms of being identified (with biometric information) is if they plan on murdering someone. And this is an actual debate, not the OAOAST.

This is even more benign than the PATRIOT Act, though. This is just having a way to confirm, beyond a shadow of a doubt, your identification. It's not surveillance or wire tapping.

I would think it violates a civil right too, but... it doesn't. At all. We don't have the right to be unidentified to the federal government. Nowhere in the Constitution, federal law, or state law does it say that we have the right to be unidentified. And I don't think there's any way to fake retinal information, FWIW, and thus, that would make it improbable for people to get around it.

But the thing is, what do you have to be scared about if you're not a criminal? It would, undoubtedly, be of immense help for our security forces.
