The similarities between it and Dawn of the Dead are there, too Spoiler (Highlight to Read): We meet one of the main characters while they're asleep in both. In both movies, part of the movie involve 4 survivors traveling. While both groups of 4 are traveling, they stop to steal gas. While they're stealing gas, one character goes to look around elsewhere (one gets coffee, one says he's looking for food), and kills one or more kid zombies. We meet one character in riot-ish gear in both. There's also the token 'post apocalypse merry shopping in the abandoned store' scene. There are probably more, I just can't think of them.
