I haven't been able to get into Earl this season. Him going to jail was a really good cliffhanger last season, but the energy the show used to have just isn't there anymore. I've been holding off on the "get Earl out of prison, stat" thing since I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I'm on board now. He needs to get out of jail quick.

The b-plot with Jim and ping pong did absolutely nothing for me except make Kelly even less likeable. She's a complete and utter cunt. And they ignored the obvious solution of trying to convince Dwight to play Darryl at Ping Pong. The deposition, however, was painful to watch in the best possible way. It was fantastically written, with Michael getting it from both sides and completely not knowing how to deal with it. The "that's what she said" confusion was funny, but was also a nice character thing and a little sad, especially after the closing credits from last week (which is steadily becoming one of my favorite scenes from the show). He does the "that's what she said" joke to, as he said, releave tension and it totally hits a wall and ends up making things worse. What I think should have happened was mix and match these past two episodes. Have the deposition be the reason Michael is out of the office while Jim is in charge and becomes Michael, and then combine the Michael in the Woods with Jim Plays Ping-Pong to get the sub-par stuff out of the way. Yeah, it'd make one pretty bad episode, but it'd also make one really great episode, IMO.

Sure, they're not poor, but that doesn't make it right that they aren't getting any compensation for the sales of what they worked on. It's not "hey, we want more money for what we're doing."

More awesomeness from the episode: -Mr. A Knife -"Let me put it this way.....no, I do not." -Looking back, there were some subtle little Jim Becoming Michael moments that I didn't even notice the first time. Jim looked at the camera a couple times in a very similar way to Michael (not his usual Jim Look), and I remembered that Pam had been working there a lot longer than Jim, so she probably remembered that Michael had already tried the One Party, which explains her reaction. -"Tell her it's for Creed. She'll know what that means..." -Corroded Artery Yeah, a lot of the Michael in the Woods thing fell flat, but I still think it was a really good episode. Had the stuff in the woods been funny throughout, it'd be a great episode. The closing credits sequence ranks up among my favorite scenes from the show ever.

I actually thought the weapons stash thing was a bit flat, but the birthday surprises were great, and the development of Jim's character was awesome. Him giving in and making a "that's what she said" joke was a nice touch.

Good episode, but the closing credits sequence was fanTASTIC.
