I just got finished watching the PPV: -I really liked the cruiser match. There was a lot of hot action in it, and the finish continued the Helms story perfectly. I've been a sucker for that finish for a while now, like when Angle "somehow" pulled out the win in the HIAC at the December 10, 2000 Armageddon PPV. -The JBL/Lashley match was way better than I thought it would be, and the fact that Finlay was a part of it, AND the fact that JBL actually picked up the win, made it all that much better to me. The actual action in the ring with just JBL and Lashley was pretty solid. I don't get the huge JBL hate at all - I thought he did a great job of covering up Lashley's faults, and made him look pretty good, even though he beat him. -Seeing Batista was a nice surprise, and got me excited about the guy for the first time in a very long time. When he comes back, we could see some great things as long as Kurt Angle is still the champion. -I even enjoyed the tag team match, and I've always been a Tatanka fan for some reason. I was totally expecting Animal, like most others, so to see a swerve there of some sort was refreshing. It took a while for the fans to really get behind Hardy and Tatanka, but by the end they got a nice pop. I don't understand why they are pushing Hardy with Tatanka though, but whatever. -Benoit/Booker T was solid as usual, and the finish was one of my favorite things on the entire show. I expected Booker T to pick up the win here, so when Benoit finally got the Sharpshooter locked in, and then went straight from that to the Crossface, I marked out big time. That will be one of my favorite finishes of 2006 I'm sure. -Ok, I hate the fact that Orton beat Rey. I hate the idea of having Orton in the main event of WM. I don't like the guy's work in the ring at all, and he's one of my least favorite wrestlers in the world right now. I also hate where they are going with this Rey/Eddie shit, and on and on. However, no matter how much I hate all of that, I must say I actually liked the finish. I would have rather that finish be on a Smackdown or something since I hate stuff like that on PPV, but I did like how it was done. When Orton fell on the ropes, I was really pissed because I thought it looked so fake, but when I saw him start to move and then dodge and roll Rey up, I thought it was really clever. That's the only positive I can say about this match though for the most part. -The main event was fucking fantastic. I've never understood the Taker hate, and this match once again makes me question it. When Taker goes out there with the right guy, and when he really gives it his all, he can be a fantastic worker, and has been for years. Kurt Angle and Taker have a certain type of chemistry together that we rarely see, especially in this day and age. I'd love to see them continue this feud, and like RRR said, I'd love to see a best out of 3-falls match with the two. I wouldn't mind seeing another match like that where all three of the falls are set up differently - pin fall, submission, and then maybe no-DQ or something. This Angle/Taker match really is a MOTYC, without a doubt. For the first time in a while, I've got to say that I fully enjoyed a WWE PPV, even though I hate the fact that Rey lost. I totally expect him to job to Orton though, so maybe that's why I didn't let that one thing ruin the entire show for me. I don't see why anyone would have actually thought that Rey would beat Orton, it was so obvious that Orton would pick up the win, somehow.

Anyone else find what's happening to JBL's career right now pretty sad? He was such a major player, busting out fantastic brawls that quite a few of the JBL haters even loved, and now, just under a year later since jobbing to Cena in a horrible short match, he is being squashed by the Boogeyman, and quite possibly will job to Lashley in a pretty quick match also. Even on the Power 25 on WWE.com they are all over the guy, as he is now at number 23: And he's only ahead of Super Crazy and Nunzio, two guys that are only on there apparently because of that single Velocity match. Speaking of that match, and their placement on the list, and the pushing of the cruisers on SD, are we seeing the "cruiserweight push" of the year already this early in 2006? I wish they would keep it going, but we all know not to get excited about any cruiserweight action (in terms of long term angles) in WWE. Anyway, I thought JBL had a bit of backstage power in WWE. If he isn't putting up a fight about being booked the way we see right now, that says a lot about the guy. He held the title longer than just about anyone else in years, almost an entire year, and now we have what we see now. Imagine HHH going along with something like that, or anyone other champion that was pushed like he was.

Wrestlers better then Finlay right now
Downhome replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in The WWE Folder
I love that the guy is on TV, but even I would like to know just why they decided to do this out of nowhere. Was there any talk about it at all before the "Finlay Is Coming" videos? I'd just like to hear Finaly comment on it, or something. -

What was so bad about his WCW work? His match with Regal at Uncensored 96 is one of my favorite WCW moments, and I enjoyed most of his work there. The end of his run wasn't that great, but hardly anything in WCW was all that great near the end. And yeah, go watch some of his work even pre-WCW. If you can't find something to like about Finaly on WWE TV right now, then there is no hope for you - WWE has totally finished brainwashing you. -

If you are going to rip a clip from a DVD, I don't know of any way to do so without ending up with a file of at least a somewhat large size. Just a few minutes of video/audio can be like 250 MB. Do what Yuna is saying, about using DVD Shrink, for the most part. Follow her guide to the point where it explains how to take the video, and use the sliders to chose the start and in points of the clip you want to take from the video, then without changing the audio, go to backup. You'll be given a .VOB file, and most programs will not let you edit it. Download Virtual Dub VOB (the normal Virtual Dub program will not let you work with .VOB files). Load the .VOB file, go to video, then to compression. Chose the video codec, then save as an .AVI, and you'll get a much smaller file to work with. That's pretty much all that you need to do.

That's one hell of an act. What did they call it?

What was that? Hulk Hogan is - Starlight, Starbright http://youtube.com/watch?v=2gcPVIi2s-Q&search=hulk%20hogan

A quick question, and answer with just a yes or no: Did they once again "cross the line" at the Smackdown tapings?

From PWInsider:

I just got finished watching RAW after downloading it. The HHH/TBS match was pretty good, and Edge/Cena had it's moments, but other than that nothing special really took place. This show is a stand out show to me, because it really sums up everything that is wrong with WWE right now - predictability.

I don't know, but they say that the guys were saying things that went well beyond something "rated R", and it was way too much for the type of show that Byte This is. What I don't understand, is why the guys producing the show let it all continue.
-
PWInsider is saying that they were let go 100% because of what happened on Byte This, and as a result of all of this, they are considering (just considering), putting an end to Byte This period.

The OaO Arrested Development Season 3 thread
Downhome replied to Gary Floyd's topic in Television & Film
Not that there is any talk about it at all, but if they ever decided to do an Arrested Development movie, the ending of the last show (season or series finale, nothing will be official until June/July) set it up perfectly. I couldn't be more pissed about all of this, I just can't believe that it is more than likely over. It is, without a doubt, my favorite TV show of all time. I will say one thing though. Now that AD is more than likely gone, my new favorite thirty minute type show is now officially The Office. -
It costs $10 to change your name.

I didn't say he can't lose, of course he can. The problem is that there aren't any guys who seem "worthy" of giving him his first lost, at least in my eyes. Besides, I think his streak should continue into his main event push, just to make things more interesting. Over time, have a really strong face finally beat him, in that setting.
-
Well, whatever they do, I do not think that he'll ever actually drop the X-Title to anyone, period. They'll either: -Do an injury angle, have him be out for a month and he is forced to just give up the title, and when he returns they run an angle where he's a "new man", and he instantly is on the hunt for the world title. -Or, like you just said, do a World Title vs. X-Title match, that he actually wins. As a result, he is forced to give up the X-Title. No offense to anyone in the X-division, but I don't see anyone as a threat to him at all, not even Styles and Daniels. Maybe they'll have him win the world title, and then at their main PPV later this year (I forget what it's called), he defends against Nash, and he finally loses, after a rehash of the Goldberg Starcade incident.
-
I think it says a lot that they keep putting him in there with Styles and Daniels. They don't really have anyone else to put him in there with in the X-Division. You know, it wouldn't shock me to see them go with an angle where, say after the match at Lockdown where he once again wins, cuts a promo right after the match and just gives up the X-Title, then says that since he's defeated everyone that the X-Division has to offer, he's going to go up to the next level on his own. Who in the hell would ever beat him for the X-Title? Do you guys not think that his streak should only end once he is in the world title scene?
-
PWInsider is reporting that they will have a Six Sides of Steel 3-way match at Lockdown, so good call there.

Maybe sometime between now and the HOF ceremony someone can "become" Owen Hart, much like Rey Mysterio has "become" Eddie Guerrero, and they can have "Owen" induct Bret? PWInsider is reporting that WWE is not paying Bret anything (he's not taking any money for it), and he wants to just do it to finally say goodbye. The only that WWE is doing is paying for his trip out there, and that's it. They are also saying that TNA has really been pushing to get Bret to come in there. When JJ found out Bret might go into the WWE HOF, he set up meetings with him. Something hapened in JJ's family, that kept JJ from being able to get to the meeting, and because of that they were not able to make the counter offer to get Bret to show up in TNA instead of this WWE HOF deal.
