  1. Well that's good news at least, thanks. I never had a Game Gear. Just how long did it actually last on a single charge?
  2. Well, this show just started.
  3. Is there any truth to the following, posted on CAG? I'm sure that's not common, but still. Is it really possible that the PSP will only last one and a half to two hours if all settings are set the highest, with Wi-Fi going as well? I'd like to get some opinions on this here.
  4. I didn't pay full price for the DS. I bought a used one, mine and like new mind you, and two games with the Metroid demo for $150. To me, and this is just me ya know, it was worth every penny. I haven't had as much fun with any video game system in years, and that's the truth in my case. There are more than enough games coming out in the upcoming weeks and months to make me happy. But my deal is that I like those weird and odd games the best, especially on handhelds. I like games that are pretty much only able to be played on the handheld. I'm not really excited at all about any of the online games for the DS (but that is pretty cool), like Mario Kart and al of those. I'll more than likely not even bother with setting all of that up. So yeah, in my case, the DS is more than worth what I gave for it. Back to the PSP though. I went into a GameStop today to take advantage of their DVD sale, and while I was there I asked if they had any PSPs in stock. The guy said he had four still in stock, that are not pre-orders. The odd thing however, is that he said the entire staff has been telling people interested in a PSP to hold off on picking one up until the next production run. I suppose it might just be my area, but he said of the ones that they personally got in stock, as well as all other video game stores and retail stores in the area, since he knows many people that works around here, that the majority of the PSPs had some sort of fault with it. Have it be a high number of dead pixels, more than just a single piece of dust under the screen, or whatever. He ever said that just in his store, about 4-6 of the PSPs were shipped to them without the battery even included in the system/box. It might just be my area, but every store I've talked to personally have reported problems with the launch, with a great number of returns and exchanges. Any idea on when the next production run for the PSP will be? I have no clue how that works.
  5. No. Because of: and: Like I said, you've been nothing more than a typical childish GameFAQs poster right here with comments like that.
  6. Anyanka, you are acting more like a typical childish GameFAQs poster than anyone else here.
  7. Here are a few reports from IGN about the launch of the PSP: http://psp.ign.com/articles/598/598794p1.html http://psp.ign.com/articles/599/599156p1.html http://psp.ign.com/articles/599/599185p1.html When I was in WalMart today, I actually thought about buying one for a second, since I got some cash to spend on whatever recently, but I remembered the deal about the dead pixels. Before I get one I want to make sure that all problems are dealt with. While I was there, mainly just looking to see how many they had in stock (the case here was almost totally full, but Seneca, SC isn't really the biggest city) a mother and her 13 year old son was looking at them also. I believe it was his birthday, and she was going to buy him a gift, and he wanted a PSP. They didn't know the price of the PSP or anything, and a CSR was helping them out. He said the system itself is $250, and then you need to buy games, maybe a better memory card, and all of that stuff. She then said to her son "Good lord, by the time it's over we'll need to spend almost $400 before you can be up and going with this thing. You better think of something else you want." Her son wasn't upset, he was just as shocked. I can see this being a huge problem all over the country though. There is a lot of money involved if you really want to get the best out of the PSP at this time.
  8. I miss those days. I'd rather see Sherri on WWE TV than almost any of the current WWE "divas".
  9. And that is the truth. Have you played Pac-Pix btw? I'm just itching to finally play that sucker. I've said all I'm going to say about the DS, it's just no use if what is out there in front of you doesn't say that the DS is a success to you. Just mark my words, by the end of the year the DS will be such a proven success that you flat out will not be able to say it is going to die any time soon, unless that's just what you want and you just ignore the facts. Go ahead, bump this thread up every now and then especially at the end of the year. I'll still stand behind everything I've said, because I know that I'm right, and those who don't "get" the DS yet, well, you'll be the one proven wrong. For now, I'm off to play the hell out of the five games I already have for it.
  10. Feel the Magic is a great game in my opinion. It's use of the touch screen is just awesome, I love it. That is where the DS will really shine: how it allows games to use that feature. I'm not saying all games need to do that though. Mario 64 DS would be just fine even without the touch screen and mini-games. I am very impressed with how good that game plays and looks. The DS isn't a new GameBoy, it's a totally new section of Nintendo products. Come next year we'll have the DS, the new GameBoy, and the new home console maybe, but I really have no clue on that one. Nintendo is just fine, this is just a way for them to expand more, and I'll make a prediction of my own: The DS, by the end of the year, will not only still be around, but sales will still be going strong, it'll have a strong library of games, and there will not be an end in sight for the system. If the list of upcoming games for the DS, for the rest of the year, does not excite you, then I have nothing more I could possibly say. If you don't care about what's coming, then you seemingly already have a grudge against the system and you'll never accept it.
  11. I'm starting to think that after Batista beats HHH for the title, and yes I think that's really going to happen, that HHH will really be traded/drafted to SD this year. HHH/JBL could bring something new to SD, and any of the top guys from SD over to RAW could be interesting. I know many say HHH wouldn't allow it, but I do think it's possible.
  12. You aren't taking up for your posistion. You said: And that is pure bullshit, it's already been proven false. It was proven false the day the DS was released. There are good-great games already out for the DS, in MY opinion. I have Mairo 64 DS (which I actually like more than the original because of more stars, more characters to play as, and mini-games that are fun as hell), Wario Ware Touched, Feel the Magic, and Touch & Go, and they will more than hold me over until the next good or great game comes out. You have to understand that for the DS, it will be slow the first year for games to be released. It's a new system with features that have never been done before on a mainstream handheld system from a major company. The game developers are not adjusted to what the system can handle or even feature yet, but it's coming along, slowly but surely. Just within the next month we have the following comeing out for the DS: -Egg Monster Hero (I hear different dates for this, sometime in April or early May) -Pac 'N Roll -Polarium -Pac Pix All four of those games are supposed to be pretty damn good, and as far as I know all four of them use the exclusive features of the DS. It's a rocky road, but as the year fades away you are going to see more and more released for the system. The "hook" here for the DS is the touchscreen and the mic, obviously. The main reason that people will buy a DS is because games will be available on it that are simply not possible on other systems, especially for people who love handhelds. Where else are you going to be able to play Pac-Pix? It's also a system that looks like developers will enjoy making "non-games" for. Games like Electroplankton and Nintendogs. I've also got to mention Kirby Touched, just check all of this out: http://ds.ign.com/articles/598/598798p1.html I really don't know what else to say other than the DS is going to be around for a while, it's going to have great games for it, and they will be quite different from things we've seen before. The PSP or DS isn't going to "win", there is room for both. I'm glad we have both. It'll possibly force both Sony and Nintendo to push the limits of their handheld machines. If nothing that is available right now interests you, and you don't see any games coming anytime soon that you want, that's fine. It's not good for you, but I understand it. It's how I feel about the PSP right now. Just don't let that blind you into thinking that the DS is a stinkbomb, a current day Virtual Boy, because that just isn't true.
  13. I will more than likely own a PSP on down the road, but not right now. The only game I'd even think about buying for it is Lumines, and that isn't worth buying the system for in my eyes. Add to that the fact that many reports have been released of dead pixels, dust under the screen, etc... and I think it's best to wait to see if Sony can get their act together. There is no excuse for so many to be fucked up. If someone gives $250+ for one, it damn well not even have ONE dead pixel. I read earlier today that Sony has already received thousands and thosands of complaints about all of this.
  14. From what I've played so far, it plays like DMC, but deeper controls.
  15. That's already been proven fales by sales in the past, the sales that we still seen week after week, the games that are already out, the list of games coming out, the list of developers that are already on board, and on and on and on. People need to stop thinking the DS is dead in the water and well on it's way to being a Virtual Boy, because it simply isn't true. As a matter of fact, there are more third-party games scheduled for release for the DS than there are for the PSP. Just look at the numbers, not only in North America, but in the UK and Japan as well. The DS isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Both the DS and the PSP will be insanely popular and will be around for a long time. They are different machines, they do different things, the games for both are different as well. My prediction is that by the end of the year, both will be standing tall, and both will have fantastic games that we will be able to play, if we want.
  16. Ok, what the hell? I just found the oddest mini-game ever in a video game. I thought I'd turn my game back on, and I'm back where these two chicks are in the bed naked, and I thought maybe I could talk to them to get information or something. After worthless talking, I tried to hit them and kill them but it wouldn't let me, so I jumped on the bed to try and grab them to kill them but I could do it there either, but it said to press O to start one of the mini-games. I did it, thinking it would be a special kill or something, and as I pressed the buttons as it told me to, the camera moved over to the side so that you can just see the bed stand, and my character was fucking both of the chicks, with the sounds of the women having an orgasm and everything. I'm, well, I'm in awe. Thank God I stopped playing it earlier. I don't know how I would have explained that to my neices, heh.
  17. Well, that was one of the best WWE shows that I can remember that was more entertainment focused. Yes I know they focus on entertainment all the time, but you know what I mean. This week it was totally obvious that it was more about the talking than the wrestling, and it wasn't that bad. Heck, it was better than many of the times they focus on wrestling. I actually marked for Cena a few times, which is just about a first. I still want him to job to JBL, but for a few seconds I actually could stand the guy. If they could only fix up his gimmick a bit more, and he might be someone I could start to like. JBL continues to prove to me why I enjoy his work so much. I just love his character, it's perfect, he is just perfect like this. His facial expressions, the way he acts, just everything about the character is perfect. The guy even rules on the mic in my opinion. I never would have guessed he was that great on the stick. I can't remember the last time a guy was so perfect for his gimmick, a guy that was so into it that you actually bought it hook line and sinker. The only ones that come close in my mind are Austin and the ORIGINAL Mankind. Like JBL's work in the ring or not, I don't see how people can't either just flat out love the guy (at least for his character and his work with the character) or hate the guy so much, that you love to hate him. I about died with Kurt Angle was singing and he got to the part where he said "I've got gold medals!!!", that was fantastic. I even enjoyed the segment with Luther and TBS. A nice way to promote for TBS's match without the other guy being able to be on the show. While I wish the build for Rey/Eddie was more, hmmm, in depth, I do like what they are doing so far. I have a feeling that we are really going to see something special in that match. Both guys will more than likely be going all out on the night of the big show, and could possibly totally steal the show. It was nice to see Sherri back for a night, and say what you may about her, I've always been a fan of hers. She may be older, but I'd rather see her on WWE TV than most of those cookie cutter broads they have on WWE TV these days. I didn't even mind Taker's deal, and I usualy despise when that happens. I guess I just didn't care about the match taking place, so whatever. All in all, a perfectly fine pre-Mania show. You have to expect this type of thing at this time of the year.
  18. Oh I know that, I was just stating how it stood at the time I made this topic. At a time the latest Ratchet & Clank game was in the same posistion. It will remain a high score though, very high, it's a great game. I have only played it up to the point where we see our first tit shots, and I stopped right there because my nieces were in my room and I didn't feel right playing the game with them in here. I didn't really read anything about the game except just looking at the scores, so I didn't know about the nudity or anything, I just thought it got an M rating because of the violence and everything. Anyway, none of that bothers me, it fits the mood of the game perfectly. I started playing, and I was having fun, but it just seemed like any other action type game of this sort. You know, like DMC or something. But then I started fooling around with the different actions you can do, kills, etc... and I started to like it even more. Then, I got to the part where you have the first "mini-game", and it hooked me in right then and there. I can't put into words how cool that is to me. It is a fantastic way to have you fight those larger enemies. It was one of the greatest HOLY SHIT moments I've ever had in a game. Then game the battle on the ship, against those three dragon type things, I forget what they are called right now, but that was just amazing. I can't wait to really get into this game, and I'll do so soon.
  19. Good point, that and we've had a "lack" of that boyband sounding shit lately, and he possibly thinks he can fill a void, all the while making more and more cash. I can't put into words how much the sound of Maroon 5 pisses me off. I liked them for a second, but now I can't stand them.
  20. It came out yesterday, and I just now went to EB and picked the game up. I just noticed that this is the #5 ranked game of all time on GameRankings, and the #1 ranked PS2 game. I'm about to dive into it, so I'll post what I think about it pretty soon. Until then, who here has had a go with it? Sincerely, ...Downhome...
  21. The price of the games is my main problem to. Should I buy a game for $50 that I can play on a five inch screen, or pay the same $50 for a game, more than likely a better game, that I can play on my normal TV? If I gave $50 for a handheld game, it better be orgasmicly fantastic.
  22. The poll on CNN.com: Would you pay $250 for a PlayStation Portable? Yes 10% No 90%
  23. Yeah, I've been there for a while. I almost never post though, I mainly use the site for information on games and good deals. I read a lot of the threads though. I'm glad I bought a DS and now have four (five counting the demo) for it. I'll wait on the PSP for about a year or so. More games that I want are coming out for the DS anyway. If I want to play most of the PSP games, I'll do so on the PS2.
  24. I keep reading about dead pixels. I read the following somewhere. A poll on the PSP forum seems to go about the same way: 37% of all PSPs at launch have dead pixels and/or dust under the screen. Check these two threads out: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstatio...scending&page=1 http://cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.p...d698ca82e3c2cde
  25. Have any of you heard this yet? Is this what his solo album is going to sound like? Please tell me this is a joke, an April Fool's joke or something, please. I've liked Matchbox 20 for a while now, but I must admit that I don't care for them as much as I once did, but still...the Matchbox 20 stuff is leaps and bounds better than this crap. It sounds like your normal bubblegum cliched pop material, something a boy band, Timberlake, or Spears would release, not Rob Thomas. If this is where he's going, then just like I said to Jewel, adios. Not to mention he looks like a cookie cutter pop/rock version of Eminem now. If you have heard it yet, check this out. The video even makes the song worse: http://www.robthomasmusic.com/rob1.html What do you guys think of this? I know that many of you hate Matchbox to start with, but going from that to what we have here for Thomas? Ugh. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
