Here is a great example of the huge difference between the two, and just how much of a headache watching in FS can be. http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare6/juniorbonner.htm

The overall look of Colin says to me "pile of crap". -

And Oliver Stone wrote the screenplay. -

A post by someone at a screenwriting board I frequent: It's said to be very long, and just flat out bad filmmaking from top to bottom. -
No, I haven't seen the film yet, and I doubt I'll ever be going to see it. From the moment I saw the trailer, I went ahead and made my mind up about this one. There was no way, after actually seeing parts of the film, knowing more about it, and hearing the cast, that it was going to be anything other than horrible. At first I said to myself "come now, the great Oliver Stone is the director, how bad could it actually be?, but then something dawned on me. The guy hasn't directed a "great" film in over a decade. So with that, yeah, I wrote Alexander off and even forgot about it's existence until this past Friday. I checked out the reviews for the first time, and not to my surprise, it has a rating of 14%/9% at RottenTomatoes. Not only that, but from the looks of the Friday box office totals, it looks like it's going to be one of the biggest bombs of the entire year. 1 NATIONAL TREASURE $13,160,000 / $68,526,000 total 2 THE INCREDIBLES $10,060,000 / $200,886,000 3 CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS $9,065,000 / $18,490,000 4 THE POLAR EXPRESS $7,730,000 / $70,065,000 5 THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE $7,640,000 / $49,021,000 6 ALEXANDER $5,690,000 / $13,840,000 7 BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON $2,460,000 / $28,293,000 8 FINDING NEVERLAND $1,790,000 / $4,854,000 9 RAY $1,560,000 / $62,770,000 10 AFTER THE SUNSET $1,240,000 / $22,522,000 For a film that brought in only around 13.8 over the first three days (that number is from BOM), that is just flat out horrible, especially considering that the total marketing/production cost of it was around 215 million. I can't go into anything about the film itself though, seeing how I haven't even watched it yet. Like I said though, I more than likely wont do so now since it's three hours long, and is said to just be very very bad from top to bottom. Hell, have any of you actually seen it? If so, what did you think? When was the last time we had a truly great epic film not counting the LotR trilogy? Was it Gladiator back in 2000? Bah, I guess I'm just a bit pissed. When I heard that Oliver Stone was going to direct a film based on Alexander the Great, at first thought I didn't think there was a chance that it could end up being fucked, but I was wrong. When I really think about it though, I haven't even cared for too many Stone films in the first place. For a second I thought it could be great, but here is what we are left with, a film that inspired such quotes as: "Not just a bad movie but a bad movie of truly epic proportions." -- Geoff Pevere, TORONTO STAR "I respect Stone as a filmmaker, but this movie is punishment rather than entertainment." -- Bill Muller, ARIZONA REPUBLIC "Oliver Stone's take on the life of Alexander the Great is overblown, underdeveloped and one of the worst films of 2004." -- James Rocchi, NETFLIX "An enormous cinematic mess. Alexander is not so much mind-numbingly boring as it is intriguingly nonsensical." -- Dustin Putman, THEMOVIEBOY.COM Finally, I can't help but wonder just what this does for Colin Farrell. For someone who has yet to really make his mark in Hollywood, this could really hurt him. And hey, when I finally do watch the film, whenever that might be, and I actually end up liking it, I'll admit it. Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Please tell me you bought that. But of course. I also bought the other one, just not at WalMart...at DDD.

I picked up a few from the $3.88 WalMart bin yesterday and today. It's too bad this was just a deal for BF and not a full time thing. Pay If Forward Space Cowboys American Outlaws Dave Boiler Room Murder at 1600 Critters You've Got Mail The $5.50 bin keeps on getting better though. I've been seeing more and more titles there that I really like. I actually saw two OOP DVDs for $5.50 today. Earth Girls Are Easy 2001: A Space Odyssey

Grumpy Old Men and My Fellow Americans are two perfectly fine movies. I can watch either one of them at any time, and they will always get laughs out of me. There ain't no tellin' how many times I've seen both of them.

I don't think your order will show up online if you ordered by phone. That's what I was told by a CR anyway. You can call and enter the order number they gave you to check the status of your phone order. If you want to log into the site, you need to register.

Someone didn't complete the search, seeing how all you need to do is type in widescreen and it'll come up with the following two threads if you let the search finish. http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=56873 http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=14855 Not that I care about posting the same thing again months later though. As has been said, WS isn't *better* than FS, it's just all about the OAR, that's all. It isn't really all that complicated to understand.

Now that I sit back and think about everything I've bought the past few weeks, I almost want to cry over spending so much.
-
So you didn't order anything during this sale? Just give them a call.

Check these out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6341779736&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6342300390&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6341394203&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6342220015&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6341279990&rd=1 I got the DVD set in the mail today from DDD, so I'll be checking it out pretty soon.

I got three of my orders in the mail today. PRINCE OF EGYPT (DTS)(SE) $11.52 THE ROAD TO EL DORADO (LE) $7.48 ECW-RISE & FALL OF ECW $14.51 ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW-1ST SEASON $21.75 WWE-CHEATING DEATH STEALING LIFE-E $12.93 SEINFELD 1ST & 2ND SEASONS (4D) $25.90 SEINFELD 3RD SEASON (4D) $29.66

It can take a few weeks after one of these sales. The "3-5 day shipping" deal only goes into effect once the DVDs ship, it's only starts once the DVDs are shipped, not the total time from when you place your order to when you get them. If push comes to shove and you need to feel secure, give em a call.
-
The site is fine. You got DVDs at a pretty low price, they have a ton of orders to fill, so just be patient.

WWE hardcore wrestling is dead, but if an ECW was still around it could work. That said, the WWE version of ECW would more than likely just be the WWE hardcore style, and the last thing we need is an entire TV show dedicated to it. The only way it would work is if Vince created the base of a new ECW, funding it and all that jazz. Give total creative control to Paul Heyman, and perhaps a few other guys who would be picked out by Heyman. Let Vince control everything having to do with money, and that is all. It would have to be almost totally separate from WWE. That said, we'll never see that, ever.

Are you talking about The Newton Boys? It got low ratings, but I always enjoyed it. Being based in the 1920's and a mix of a western and a gangster film, it has always been interesting to me. Dwight Yoakam is awesome in it too. The other one you are talking about is Mobsters. My pick goes to The Goodfellas by the way.

The latest episode helps prove once again just why this show is so great. It's almost like in each episode, you have a new "greatest line ever on TV". Last week's classic line was: Buster: "I heard zoo noises." And my favorite line/exchange from this episode was: Buster: "Mother!" Lucille: "Buster, I thought you were in Mexico!" Buster: "So did I!" But like I said, you can list funny laugh out loud bits from each episode, there is just so much here for it to be only 21 minutes of show. I still can't believe that they cram so much fantastic material into so few minutes. Another good bit was with Michael and Maeby: Maeby: "And it's not a race thing. Michael: "Yeah, whoever get's there first. *then later on when Maeby and Michael get back home* Lindsay: "Hey you're here already." Michael: "Yeah, we won." My favorite visual gag from this episode was when Michael showed the BLUEprint of his father to Ice, and then Ice goes off to find him. Later in the show, we see Tobias walking in the house, and Ice tackles him, just because he had blue paint all over his face, Lindsay says to him "That's not my father!", and Ice holds up the blueprint and says "According to my photography, it is." I also liked: Buster: "And a hand chair, I had one in my room! I wonder where that went." Narrator: "It went right there." And just one more: Narrator: "At no point were Michael and Maeby talking about the same person, and there were only four people in their group. It sounds like the narrator even forgets about poor Ann.

In terms of accomplishments, they are about equal. In terms of who looks the best to the fans (in my eyes), I'd give it to Eddie. Even me as a fan, Benoit at times just looks like he's presented as "just another wrestler" whereas Eddie has his special entrance, and to me just looks more important.

I just got a PS2 demo disc in the mail, and it has a whole bunch of playable demos on it, including MGS3. I'm going to check it out, then I'll let you know what I think of it.

Well, it looks like TNA might have a new guy to "go after" JJ!
