  1. I almost bought this as a blind buy the other day based ONLY on how weird it looked.
  2. Go to Blockbuster and preorder the game as I have done. If you trade in two games, you can preorder it for $29. Then, whatever the trade-in value of those two games, you get to take that off of the $29 also. If you trade in three, you still get that deal, AND you get $5 more trade-in value per game, so doing that would give you SDvsRAW straight up, with trade-in credit left over to use on something else. Also at Blockbuster, they are running a special where EVERY DVD you trade in gives you $8 trade-in credit. If you have a bunch of crappy DVDs, you can really make it count. If your Blockbuster does trade-ins, there is no reason for you to trade anywhere else anymore. Just as an example: Say you did take in HCTP and Manhunt for the PS2. Blockbuster will give you $22 for HCTP and $7 for Manhunt. That right there just about pays for any new game you preorder, including SDvsRAW. If you were to toss in a third game, something very cheap or crappy, you'll instantly get $5 more per game. So $27 for HCTP, $12 for Manhunt, then whatever for the third one. Then, as I said, you'd have a good bit leftover for whatever else you watned to buy.
  3. We have lost a classic part of classic film. I didn't expect to see this one when I woke up this morning. I saw this on Yahoo less than ten minutes ago. http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/a...n_ot/obit_leigh Sincerely, ...Downhome...
  4. Yeah, there are a lot of stupid people out there.
  5. I hate to bump up a pretty old thread, but I didn't want to start an entire thread just for this. Earlier this year, when I first watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I instantly loved the music. I ended up getting the soundtrack, and it's really opened me up to new and different music. I now love ELO, quite a lot, so that's that. The Garden State soundtrack has also opened me up to new music. I can't believe how blind I've been for so long when it comes to certain music.
  6. This one finally starting playing at a local theater, and I went to see it on opening night here. To sum it up in few words...it's the second best film of the year so far, with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind being in the #1 spot. It is very rare that I actually feel like I'm floating on air when watching a film, experiencing that feeling of greatness, but this one did it, as did Eternal. I said in my Eternal thread that the character of Clementine was my new favorite role/character ever, and Sam in Garden State is right up there also, just a fantastic performance. I am also a huge fan of Zach Braff, just wow. He's a true Hollywood player, he's going to grow into so much, I can't wait to see more and more of this guys work. I can't put into words how fantastic this guy is going to become. Garden State is what film is all about, and it couldn't have been presented much better, if any better, at all. This is the type of film that I will grow into loving it more and more and more. The more I'll think about it, and view it, the more that I'll appreciate everything about it. Also, I love movies like this, that feeling of reality, the feeling of it not actually being a film that you are watching. To many who view it, who do not care to actually lookin within the film, they might claim that it has no true plot. It's just a guy doing stuff and then the film ends. I hate when people think of films like this in that way, it's so sad when people can not look within the film, to really grab hold of what is going on, and then allowing the film to grab hold of them as well. The final line in the film summed up not only the film and life perfectly, but also the career of Zach Braff...now let's see more!
  7. Indiana Jones box set Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
  8. I want Bush to say this one again. "If you gave a speech, as my opponent did, calling the Reagan presidency eight years of "moral darkness," then you may be a lot of things, but the candidate of conservative values is not one of them." - President George W. Bush, 09/02/04 - RNC
  9. *sigh* I want to see John Kerry, the man, explain his plans for change himself. I do not want to see it on paper, I want to hear it in his own words. That better?
  10. I still want to know Kerry's plans.
  11. Imagine what it would've been like had Undertaker had him hanging like he did to Bossman that time.
  12. I'm watching both the debate and SD, and I just looked at the TV with SD on it and I see a black man hanging from a cross looking thing. My God, if I didn't know what was going on I might be asking a few questions, heh.
  13. I HAVE A PLAN. I HAVE A PLAN. I HAVE A PLAN. I HAVE A PLAN.
  14. Well, coming from someone who also said the following, do you expect anything less than idiotic? No offense to anyone, but if you can't get your head out of your ass and learn about issues to the point to be able to make an intelligent and thought out decision, then you should just keep your mouth shut.
  15. The only comparison that I made in the very first post was that I feel that both films are great, that's it, period. If you think I meant anything else then that's your problem for trying to read more between the lines...not mine.
  16. I think it said 1/5/05.
  17. If, after watching 1-2-3, and seeing the life story of a guy by the name of Anakin Skywalker, including his turning to the dark side in Episode III, you do not know that Darth Vader is Lukes father, then I really really feel sorry for you. Regardless of your age.
  18. The way that Lucas looks at the new order of the films, 1-2-3-4-5-6, is this. He says that for one generation, the big thing was the shock of "No! I am your father!" but for future generations the big thing about the films will be that the viewer will know the truth, and the shock on our part will be replaced by the suspense of the viewer knowing the truth all along, but Luke does not. As for me, when I show these films to my young children I'll make sure they watch them in the order that all of us have, 4-5-6, then the more recent 1-2-3.
  19. If they release another box set or whatever, I'll just put this one on eBay when I hear about it, and pay for the newer one with the money I'd get from selling this one. No big deal to me.
  20. Click here to view the trailer. Here is the official website: http://www.whitenoisemovie.com/ I'm a sucker for ghost stories and reading books and websites about stuff like this, and I've always been interested in this specific topic. I'll go see this movie, have it be great or horrible. Here is the plot summary, and a bit about white noise. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
  21. The real question here is this. Why the hell do people vote for that moron?
  22. I just sold one of my two copies of WMX-Seven on eBay for $35.
  23. SP, just chill out. I'm not getting pissy, I just DOUBT it'll be rated anything but PG-13, based on the guy's history. Is that too hard for you to grab a hold on? I've already said I want it rated PG-13 or something, that would be great. I just highly doubt that he'll get that rating. What he says means nothing. The film will not be officially rated until it has been screened by the proper guys and gals.
  24. I just got shipping confirmation on a great deal I got in on at FYE.com. They had Ken Burns' America seven disc set, normally priced at $129.99, mispriced as $17.99 the night before last. Before they changed it to the real price I was able to order two of them.
  25. From what I've heard Tammy is in good spirits about her looks, at least that's the image she gives off. If she would be up for it, I wouldn't see anything wrong at all with them putting her in that angle. It just might be possible to be entertaining.
