I would simply reccomend anything by Rumiko takahashi. Battle Angel and Blame! are good. Both are dark sci-fi. Love Hina- I liked the anime about 100x more, though I hear the manga has a more satisfying ending. Stuff like Kenshin almost seems a wash, because it's really close to the anime. Of course, I am fortunate enough to live near a place that rents anime. If you want some good sci-fi manga (that's very different from the anime): Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Akira are all extremely good lovely art in all of them. I especially reccomend Appleseed, though it seems it'll never be finished. It's really great. These titles are also relatively (key word: relative to other manga) cheap to collect as they're not too terribly long. Oh, and Nausicaa in the Valley of the wind by Miyazaki (director and artist of totoro, Spirited Away, Mononoke etc.) is quite good, and also only 4 volumes long.

Yeah, now that I think about it FF have a much better villainous lineup than the Avengers if only by virtue of having DOOM, who would probably be #3 on my list behind Joker and Magneto. I don't think Spidey has a horrible rogue's gallery. Green Goblin looked like crap, but was a great villain in both Osborne incarnations. Venom was terrific until Marvel just decided to crap out as many comics featuring him as possible. Kraven may have only had one great storyline, but it was a doozy. And there's nothing wrong with guys like Doc Oc, Mysterio, Lizard. And Punisher first appeared as a Spidey villain. I have to agree that between Guys like Rhino, the goblins, Vulture, are about the stupidest LOOKING villains all-time. That's pretty damn apparent.

Well, I loved the 1st two. If they make a good game, I'll buy it and love it. If they make a bad game, I'll buy it and shit on it. Either way they're happy, eh?

So what do you think? I don't think many will debate my first and second choices, but I am very intrigued to hear others' opinions. Here's my picks 1. Batman- Come on, Joker's probably the best villain ever, and then you have two-face, catwoman, grundy, scarecrow, riddler, clayface, r'as, Shiva. all around good stuff. 2. X-Men- Mags, Dark Phoenix, Apocalypse and sinister, various brotherhood, Including Big daddy joggs, onslaught, etc 3- Spider-Man- Venom, various gobs, Kraven, Lizard, Doc Oc Carnage (ugh) and miriad others. 4- JLA - Darkseid, luthor, Doomsday, parralex, amazo 5- Avengers - Ultron, MOE, Red Skull, Um, my ignorance of comics is starting to show, So? opinions? 4- JLA

De Niro Brando Pacino has been hammier than Miss Piggy since Scent of a Woman. In an enjoyable way, but come on.

I think I can! Ric Flair Collection Match 1: (Ric Flair) v. (Ricky "the Dagron" Steamboat) 2/3 falls They had some classic spots, like chopping each other really hard (just like their previous bouts) And Flair once got hit so hard he walked out of the corner and fell on his face! It made me spit my Mello Yello onto my shirt! ***** Match 2: etc etc etc Match 1: Sandman v Sabu - Stairway to Hell match Sandman stabbed himself in the face on camera for like 5 seconds, just like his previous bouts with himself. Then Sabu pushed him off the ladder into like 4 table, and Joey Styles was like, "OMG", and I was like, "correction my good sir. OMGWTF!" ***** Match 2: etc etc etc

They DO both have moustaches, and are adored by the ladies. I think he most likely dreamed it. Just wanted to know for sure, since he's been talking about it for years now.

Whole tourney, IIRC. As reviewed on rolling germans (just in case any matches are JIP or clipped that I don't remember) All the big matches you would want were completely unclipped I believe. Also the 60 minute 6-man was unclipped, which would suggest to me that it's completely unclipped. It's like 8 hours long.

I ordered the Champions carny from Golden Boy, and he ended up putting it on 2 tapes, with the Final match (which you definitely want), so It was the cost of 2 normal tapes there. Vid quality may have been a little lower because of SLP/EP, but still looked fine. It's a complete steal.

Dawn Marie and RVD are two really, really nice people. Stayed WAY late at a ECW TV taping, with huge smiles on their faces, taking pictures with everyone. (Dawn's also really cute in person) Axl and Balls however, are dicks, yelling for fans to get out of the way once they had signed their stuff. I guess I would be grumpy if I got payed fuckall to bleed twice a week.

I'm glad the inverted atomic drop went out of style. It always bugged me that a face would use a blatant attack on the nuts as a transition move. (see: Sting)

Lately, I've found, my tastes have run to feminine punky/eclectic bands, e.g. Le Tigre, Yeah yeah yeahs, Sleater Kinny, Cibbo Matto, Blonde Redhead, Sonic Youth (half counts.) Anyway, given my latest preferences, any good bands? I don't much like Bikini Kill, good lyrics, don't like the music much.

Breeders - Cannonball Sonic Youth - Teenage Riot Johnny Cash - Folsom(sp?) County Prison Blues Pixies - Where is my mind? Clash - Spanish Bombs/London Calling Favorite songs of right now are Blond Redhead - Elephant Woman Le tigre - The Empty/Deceptacon

I like Jericho v Wild Pegasus (Benoit) '95 J-Cup is pretty darn nice. And Thrillseekers/Heavenly Bodies is a must. Though not necessarily better than the WCW/WWE stuff, it's cool to see him at different points in his career.

Metal storm it is! Thanks! What a superbly sweet game that is...

Mega Man would be my vote. A large amount of games, superb control in all, innovative ideas in many. Mario and Dragon Warrior/Quest are the only others that come close.
-
Probably came out mid-late NES period because I remember the bosses as being big and impressive. (course Mega Man II had bigass bosses too) Side-scroller. You were a Mech, I believe you could shoot in multiple directions, get a few powerups, the games main gimmick though, was you could flip gravity, often in mid jump, sticking to floor or ceiling as the situation required, you pressed up and jump to flip gravity up, and down and jump vice-versa. Hell of a game. superb controlMy friend and I beat it a few times. What was it called?

My friend's been looking for this match forever, I have no idea what it is. One of the contestants is Rick Rude, and he's fighting his opponent on some kind of pyramid made of blocks? And throwing the blocks at him. I have no idea what match this is, or what promotion it's in. Anyone know what the hell he's talking about? Thanks!

I'd include: Shinjiro Ohtani. Agile, mean, and tough. Had a great handful of matches with Liger (Iknow, everyone else did too, but he truly could bring it to the level of LIger.) EDIT: You can't include Chono, and not Muto, since their match together at the G-1 Climax Finals is the best of Chono's career, to my knowledge. Of course, I could be missing a match, I'm hardly the authority on puro.
-
Mine was the Rude/Chono match (G-1 climax, I believe?) It was on a Rude tape I bought, since I loved him to death, and he had just died. I was astounded. I had never figured Rude for a great wrestler, and here he was, in this TERRIFIC wrestling match. It's still a great match, but what stood out to me, aside from all the near falls that I totally bought, was that both guys were completely devoted to making each other look like a million bucks. No no-selling bullshit. Each guy looked like they were scrabbling for the win, and this match was the most important in the world. So what match got you into puroresu?

how are MM7&8? I played all the NES versions. 2, 3, and 5 are the best, IMO. 2 & 3 in particular have a warm spot in my heart. Just terrific games. EDIT: Oh, and BTW, I bought the collection, brand new, and My PS2 won't read it! Argh! Time for a new PS2.
-
That would be swell, I'd give it a Robotron/Smash TV control scheme. God do they even make shooters with simple, quick control schemes anymore? And if anyone likes a good, free, text-based creepy adventure game (that's pretty damn easy, get 'Shade' And if you just want a good story, get 'Photopia', which is basically a tremendously affecting short story as an adventure game. Neither are really challengine at all (photopia's hardly even a puzzle game) but they're both great.

Whoa, whoa whoa. I believe you are referring to the masturful pieces of hardware known as the 32X !!!!! and the Sega CD !!!! Sewer shark motherfuck! Don't compare the Saturn to those wonderful systems, truly Sega's last triumph.

Overturning laws on grounds of unconstitutionality is pretty much their job, no? If it was the gay marriage thing I'd agree with you (though I'm personally pro- gay marriage.) That's passing a law with no vote.

Honestly, I haven't seen the movie, but I did by the book 'Dude, where's my country', and from what I've heard, it largely concerns itself with the same topics Since I'm a liberal, and I liked Roger & Me, TV Nation, and in general Bowling for Columbine. 'Dude' was a bad book. It had no cohesiveness, it had no thesis. It's conspiracy theories were often half-baked, and he clearly wanted to have both ways with every issue. Blame bush for not doing something, then blame him when he does it. I really, really dislike Bush. He's the only president that has filled me with active resentment. (I know, Kerry's no great shakes either. Give me a McCain/Edwards ticket and you'll see a man happy for 4 years) However, the biggest problem in the country is that both parties are looking absolutely crazy. Allying themselves with Moore just out of vitriolic anger towards Bush just makes liberals look like crazies.
